d.o.c mornington

good pizza. i have been here several times mostly for pizza. pizzas are excellent,greatcrusts and toppings. the only fault is it is very noisy and as i have a hearing problem it was difficult for me to hear my husband and friends we moved on elsewhere for sweets and coffee.

a little slice of carlton in mornington.. i dined at d.o.c on sunday with my folks, and i must add how pleased i was at not only with the food but the service as well. the host was most accommodating with our needs. the service was a little choppy at times due to the venue being full but still attentive without being in your face. i moved away from rosebud a while ago to start working in melbourne's hospitality scene due to the lack of "real quality" on the peninsula at the time but this sundays lunch was a welcome surprise. the three of us shared the zucchini flower pizza special, the soppressa pizza with provolone, pesto and olives and then finished with the 5 cheese selection. the small wine list was nice my mother enjoyed the soave and the montepulciano went nicely to my head, but the barolo was a star regardless of its price tag. its agreatchange to have a "city" quality venue in a town of over priced main stays eg -"the rocks" that dosent break the bank. the old's loved it, especially the mini market of produce and cheese. it was also the first time they tried zucchini flower's. so in rapping this review up agreatthank you for making my family's day, the worst part was going back home to the city lol. i have also dined at the carlton venue as well.

we went to mornington for lunch and came across d.o.c. well presented modern italian restaurant with agreatarray of wines to choose from. the service was consistent and didn’t have to wait long to order and receive our meals. i ordered the margarita pizza which was amazing with crispy base and quality toppings. my partner had the meat balls which nice however very salty. the red wine was complimentary taste with the meal. we would recommended a visit.

we were looking for somewhere to pop in and we noticed this place was packed which is always a good sign.

the service was a little average but that’s to be expected when a place is busy and when the food came out that was all forgotten.

the lasagna was tasty and the pizza crunchy. most importantly; everything was nice and fresh.

popular restaurant. nice big outdoor space. was very busy in the evening, we were lucky to get seats along the bench by the window and didn't have to wait too long.greatspot away from the noisy tables on the opposite end. 

shared the tasty roast veggie thin crust pizza. also enjoyed the eggplant parmigiana. the cannoli  with a long black (one shot . half strength is strong enough for us) was perfect to finish 👌 

food is great, atmosphere is really nice and at agreatlocation. what really lets them down is their staff, they are rude and snobby and give off the vibe that they think they are better than everyone. they are quick to get rid of you once you’ve finished eating just so they can make more money. i had a really awful experience where i made a phone order and repeated to the man 3 times what i wanted and i arrived to pick it up and they made the wrong thing, the woman was extremely rude saying that i did order what they made when she wasn’t even the one i spoke to on the phone, the way the staff went about it was very rude and belittling. i used to go to doc frequently and just looked past the attitude of the staff but after this encounter i doubt i will return.

sensationally authentic italian withgreatservice. perfect location in the gorgeous spot of mornington, this restaurant is hard to pass for italian cuisine!

i'm actually so disappointed that i'm leaving this review because my past experiences of doc mornington and doc in carlton have beengreatboth in terms of food and service, but yesterday was a completely different story. i walked into doc with my mother at about 1.30pm to celebrate a job offer i had just received, we stood at the counter next to the sign that says 'please wait to be seated'. there were plenty of vacant tables inside and outside on the terrace. there were two ladies behind the counter chatting amongst themselves who did not acknowledge us at all, i thought that was rude but continued waiting anyway. another 5 minutes went by when we thought one of the wait staff was finally approaching us but he made eye contact briefly, looked away and started having a laugh and a chat with the ladies behind the counter in front of us. upon realising we were being blatantly ignored by the staff we left and had lunch across the street at boyz 4 breakie where the service and food were amazing but not what we wanted when we had doc in mind and didn't quite get the bad taste of the rudeness their staff left in our mouths. like i said, all previous experiences with doc have beengreatand i was really looking forward to dining here but i definitely won't be coming back to be ignored like that again.

we were here on a sunday night. very busy and did not take reservations. we had the lasagna and pork sausage pizza. pretty average stuff.greatcustomer service.

on the busy main street of mornington with many choices around it is tricky to make the right choice. however if you are after excellent italian fare in victoria, doc, is your place. a smaller menu with predominantly pizza, was available for lunch. in this case quality beats quantity. while everyone around enjoying the pizzas, we took a chance with the salads.greatchoice as it turned out. rich in flavour, delightful in presentation and plenty too. service was prompt and friendly too, and if you keen to take home some italian or organic groceries, there is a corner for that as well. a really good spot.

a family lunch on australia day was a fantastic treat at doc mornington.  the restaurant was absolutely packed and i expected slow service in response to the sheer number of patrons.  instead we had fantastic, prompt service andgreatfood.  we shared two antipasto boards between 6 (the perfect amount although i could have used more bread!) and then had a pizza each.  my salsiccia pizza was fantastic! the base was crisp and perfectly cooked, spread with a thin layer of broccoli paste and dolloped with sausage meat.  all the other pizzas and the table were similarly delicious (i may have tasted them all!) this is a fast paced, well run and classy italian pizzeria for the whole family.

best pizza i've had! this place was very authentic italian, such agreatrestaurant and the workers look like they really enjoy themselves. i'd definitely come back and if you're looking for authentic italy food this is the place to go

my go to for a good pizza. took a few friends here tonight and they all loved it. tried the lasagna for the first time tonight, i'm not a fan of lasagna usually but i loved it! greatselection of wine too.
