2nd time disappointment. this was my 2nd time at doc crow's. on the first visit, i was pleased, except for the service. on the 2nd visit, we started out with a dozen of oysters. the oysters are a little pricey ($2 each), but were excellent. i was very pleased with the oysters, just like the first time. this time i ordered crab cakes for a second appetizer. they were o.k. the crab cakes were not bad, but not outstanding. they were just o.k. my entre was theshrimpand oyster poboy. the bread is excellent. they do use the correct type of french bread. but theshrimpwere not very tasty. i know a goodshrimpwhen i see one, and theseshrimpfailed to impress. the fried oysters were o.k., but not outstanding. for a captain d's, theshrimpand oysters would have been just fine. but this is not a captain ds. my check for the dozen oysters, poboy, 3 glasses of wine, and a bowl of gumbo was $80 (20% tip included). oh, the seafoood gumbo lacked seafood. i could only see one piece of crab meat, and that was it....no shrimp.
it will be a while until i go back, buti will return. my rib dish on the first trip was excellent. and the hot wings were also great on the first trip. tonight, the table next to me had a filet, and it looked great.
