doc crow's

came in with a buddy, both of us from out of town. great atmosphere and people watching from window booths. started with the peel and eat shrimp which were great. nice size and great seasonings! moved on the the smokehouse sampler with ribs, brisket, and pork. the baby backribswere phenomenal. perfectly fall off the bone, and the dry rub was addictive. the brisket and pulled pork were also good but theribstake the cake. for sides i had the baked beans, cheddar grits, and cornbread. the cornbread was perfect and i’ve never had better cheddar grits, super creamy, tender and well seasoned. i would def return for the ribs, grits, and cornbread.

first time in louisville. this place is amazing, for a starter we got the beer cheese and chips, it was delicious. for the main meal got the smoker sampler, it was unreal. by far bestribsi have ever had. i live in michigan and would drive back just to eat here again. atmosphere was good, the space was a lot larger than i had anticipated. all in all great experience would highly recommend to anyone who is in the area.

omg. had shrimp app hot, house salad and pulled pork sand. all fantastic and would order exactly the same again. ribsalso stellar!!! need to figure out the ice cubes in there drinks. my bluegoose soda was so water down from the melted ice not worth it.

wow! this place is wonderful!! my husband and i checked it out last night and at first ordered the seasoned fried oysters and they were out of this world! they were so fresh and the crispy coating over the oysters was fantastic! we then split the smokehouse sampler with pulled pork, st. louis styleribsand beef brisket. everything was moist, full of flavor and delicious! we ordered two sides, lima beans and collared greens...both were really good. then we finished our dinner with an oyster shooter...wow! kind of like a lemony bloody mary with a fresh oyster...really on point! we are already planning our next visit to doc crows!! what a treat :)

bad ribs. because they were busy, they served me a half rack of porkribsthat seemed to have been cooked days before. very dry. i complained, and they did compensate me, but i wanted them to know that they were trying to serve an inferior item.

delicious meal. theribswere amazing and the house made pork-skins for an appetizer were insane :) love the place

just okay. my wife and i grabbed dinner after a louisville basketball game last night. i had the shrimp for the appetizer. this was the best part of the meal besides the bourbon i ordered. my main course was the baby backribswhich were very dry. the spice was right, but i had to dip each piece in sauce. theribswere advertised as so good no sauce would be necessary. the couple next to me at the bar had the same comment. i'd go back and give it another shot because i felt like there was potential. i hope next time is better.

just left doc crows and i am so disappointed.. walked in on slick floors, dangerous to all but especially when your carrying a baby in her carseat. we had prompt service and got our brisket tacos quickly. the tacos were tue highlight of the meal. shortly after we were served dinner 1/2 rack ofribswith greens and mac-n-cheese and shrimp po boy with grits. the shrimp had not been deviened, not at all. every shrimp had a big black line of nastiness right down the back. theribswere ok but definitely on the dry side. all the sides were bland and in need of some serious seasoning. sent back the po boy and ordered a stuffed baked potato with brisket assuming that if the tacos were good... i was wrong the potato was just ok and the 4 chunks of meats were almost entirely fat. my husband ordered the wilber sundae. it liked it better than me but we both agreed the bourbon cherries were gross, there were too many pork rinds, and the bacon was chewy. really disappointed... i had looked forward to dinner at doc crows all day... i won't be making a return visit.

service was good butribswere dry and tasted like they were cooked long ago and reheated. i would not eat there again.

i ate there today for lunch. theribswere unreal. fall off the bone and done to perfection. the fried okra was out of this world.
great food!!!
the waitress was cold and lacked any manners or decent serving skills.
had i not had to "bother" her, i'm sure her day would have been much better.

besides the lack of service, the meal was outstanding!

service was great and the bar is extensive. very wide selection.the baby backribswere the worst i have ever paid for. the rest of the food was ok.

doc crow's had a good atmosphere inside. i had the st. louisribswith onion rings and texas toast. theribswere good, but weren't very tender. they had sauce, but i preferred adding more to them. i want to try their poboys on the next visit.

marine corps reunion dinner. went to doc crow's on a referral from someone else. i was hosting a marine corps reunion for a bunch of guys, got in touch with the owner of the eatery since we had a pretty large group. we had about 20+ people in our group and everyone seemed to have a great meal, very nice atmosphere inside the restaurant with a very post modern type feel. from my understanding they are known for bbq and the food did not disappoint, i split my meal with another guy and our steak andribswere excellent. i would recommend this as a good place to eat.

not great bbq. theribswere dry, and the pulled pork was tough. need i say more?

yuck!. loud, crowded -- sitting at the tables next to bar means you are bumped every time someone walks past. service very very very slow. all drinks were luke warm -- martinis, wine. but the food was the worst -- an oyster po boy was just a big lettuce sandwich.ribsdry. hush puppies just fried cornmeal. the onion rings were clearly frozen, not home made or even of good frozen quality. and then you get the check! this was not a good dining experience and i would neither return nor recommend doc crow's. everyone in my party agreed.
