po-boy good.. the food was good. brisket juicy. fried okra, a lighter batter than usually expected with okra, but nicely seasoned. po boy, delicious with some delightfully crispy-on-the-outside, fluffy-on-the-inside bread served with a generous portion of kettle chips. service.... it was lacking. the drink runner was a bit behind, our drinks with our dinner coming half way through our meal. and my gin and tonic had no lime. theatmospherewas a little off as well. the newly renovated iron quarter building is clean and urban with a slight nod to a more rustic world. but the type of food, server dress, and plates make you feel like your at mark's. but i'll forgive the service and atmosphere, because that po-boy was delicious

came in with a buddy, both of us from out of town. greatatmosphereand people watching from window booths. started with the peel and eat shrimp which were great. nice size and great seasonings! moved on the the smokehouse sampler with ribs, brisket, and pork. the baby back ribs were phenomenal. perfectly fall off the bone, and the dry rub was addictive. the brisket and pulled pork were also good but the ribs take the cake. for sides i had the baked beans, cheddar grits, and cornbread. the cornbread was perfect and i’ve never had better cheddar grits, super creamy, tender and well seasoned. i would def return for the ribs, grits, and cornbread.

first time in louisville. this place is amazing, for a starter we got the beer cheese and chips, it was delicious. for the main meal got the smoker sampler, it was unreal. by far best ribs i have ever had. i live in michigan and would drive back just to eat here again.atmospherewas good, the space was a lot larger than i had anticipated. all in all great experience would highly recommend to anyone who is in the area.

the food was good but not great and wasn't worth $20 per person for chicken/ribs/baked potatoes. some of the food wasn't hot. it has a good vibe andatmospheretho.

so so good. i had a brisket on a bun with baked mac and cheese and i was in heaven. i will return to ky for this!! server was very nice as well and theatmospherewas great!

one of my favorites. love the mussels! coolatmosphereand excellent food. conveniently located in downtown louisville, close to several hotels.

there's not much bad to say about this establishment, if any. we had the wedge salad, fried green tomatoes, pulled pork tacos, mac n cheese, and the pulled pork supper. it was all fantasic. i felt the portions were a good size for the price and location. we also enjoyed the country boy cougar bait and on tap. we sat at the bar and conversed with the bartender (karie with a "k") and some out of town folks from savanah, georgia and new york. they had a bourbon cocktail hand crafted from one of the bartenders that they really enjoyed. another gentlemen sitting next to us had the pecan pie for dessert and said it was great. theatmospherewas excellent. i will definately be returning for some great food, excellent cocktails/beers, and enjoyable bar staff.

fun atmosphere, yummy food. i always love this place when i go. theatmosphereis great, the servers are obliging and everything i've ordered is delicious. try the rockafeller or the smokehouse mussels. both are fabulous.

...we all were craving barbecue so doc crow's seemed like the perfect place. i'm so glad we went! the food andatmospherewere perfect and we had a great time!

mediocre. the place isn't bad, it's just not that good. i had the pulled pork supper. it was okay, but just that. it wasn't smokey at all. it could have been made in the oven. my colleague agreed as well. he also had pulled pork and ordered the brisket to go before he tried anything. once again, not bad, just not good either.

btw, the service andatmospherewere both good.

we went there last evening for my 24th birthday dinner. we were very pleased, the staff was friendly and our table was ready on time. they also have a greatatmospherefor kids which we always look for. we had the fried green tomatoes and beef brisket tacos as appetizers they were stellar. i ordered the bubba and was very pleased! there prices are reasonable and theatmosphereis a blast, we will definitely be going back.

i travel to louisville for work a lot. i'm also kind of a food geek. this is my favorite restaurant in town. eaten here close to 20 times. service is hit or miss butatmosphereis great and food speaks for itself. i usually order lima beans, wedge salad and mussels. the combo is like $20. highly recommended. filet is also good.

don't listen to the bad reviews.... i'm glad i didn't.
i had time to go to one restaurant while i was in louisville and i am very pleased that doc's was my choice.
the service was fantastic, theatmospherewas right on, and the bourbon and beer selection was great.
and i don't know if they meant to do it but every person who works there is good looking. even my boyfriend had a little bro-crush on our server who was super suave and stoic and so eager to talk about the "going-ons" in the louisville music scene. he knew his beers and brought me a beautiful ipa that i am craving pretty hardcore right now.

thanks, guys.
i'll be back on my next louisville visit, for sure.
