boring.
while the taste andserviceis reasonable, this restaurant is a has-been. it lacks creativity, artistry, and purpose. it feels like one is stuck in 1990s/early 2000s and wishes to stay there. i have a feeling it was only busy because all the other fine dining restaurants are still closed. also, this place isn’t hatted for 2020 (no surprise).serviceis excellent, food portions are generous for a degustation. not recommended if you’re a foodie.

it is the worst restaurant i have ever been to. there were not enough waiters and it took forever to be served. i had been waiting for ages before he kept serving the throngs of people sitting next to me. the food is ok but for this price, it is not acceptable.
“bad” is not suitable to describe this restaurant, “awful” is a better word.
this is a dreadful restaurant, don’t know why it has four stars, terribleserviceand such awful food quality mean i will not be coming back.

i was really disappointed. neither the taste nor the presentation of the dishes was up to expectation. the oxtail was too salty and the beef tenderloin was tough. the desert looked good but tasted awful. the orange sorbet tasted so strange that i couldn’t tell it was made from orange. theservicewas inefficient. i’m not going back to this restaurant again.

absolutely devine! i have been holding out on you with my reviews and went to courgette just before the easter weekend. this one hatted restaurant certainly does not disappoint! dimly lit with modern decor i just loved the atmosphere. theservicewas immaculate, the waiters we had tended to our every need, they were regularly checking in with us and making polite conversation. the food, where do i start? presentation was simply amazing (see the photos), the taste of the meals matched. delicious!!! certainly save this place for that special night out!!!

chef james massillon continues to creates magic with food andserviceat courgette on marcus clarke street in canberra city. indeed courgette’s wait staff are the finest in canberra –  familiar faces who develop an instant rapport while behind the scenes, seamlessly choreographing the meal to ensure a perfect evening.

lead by head chef james mussilion, courgette restaurant serves fine french cuisine that is worthy of its sydney morning herald chef hats. the cuisine is classic, the ambience is relaxing and comfortable with an air of sophistication, and theserviceis pleasant with a ‘rough around the edges’ feel.

me and my partner went to canberra a while ago and had chosen this place as a part of our two days trip. we both agree that this was one of the best decision we had made.

living in melbourne there are far more choices to choose from and we all agree that there are far more option as to fine dining food. our experience in courgette, however, was one of the best!
for the price of $85 for three course menu and the food we receive we could not fault anything! theservicewas amazing but the food was outstanding!

what an extremely enjoyable dining experience. our evening seating was in a separate room surrounded by wine racks albeit somewhat destitute. the 4 course menu each has 3 or 4 choices and each course for me was a tough choice as there is multiple temptations.
my decisions landed on prawn cannoli, seared scallops, lamb chops, and panacotta.
all plates were very good to outstanding. perhaps the dessert was the weakest but by no means a disappointment. the panacotta was extremely delicate and melted away in the mouth.
the scallops were the best i have had in a long while. they are ubiquitous these days but often fail to deliver. these were modest sized, perfectly cooked, firm and tender and had flavour!
theservicewas attentive but lacked the polish of the food but that is nit picking a little. all around it was a dining pleasure.

i sussed out all of the restaurants in canberra so that i could determine what restaurants to book for my holiday. courgette was my top choice and i did thoroughly enjoy the food. the wine list was extensive and the menu is vegetarian friendly. the vego options are creative too which is always nice to see. the cheese platter was presented in a wacky and innovative way which was a nice surprise. i went with three other people and we all had a really good experience. the only downer was that the guy serving us was arrogant and very rude at the end. we were having a good time, had drunk multiple bottles of wine and spent a lot of money... and this guy was practically pushing us out the door. he kept coming over and asking us if he wanted us to get him to call a taxi... er no, no we don't... or we would have asked (obviously!) it wasn't even that late. so it is worth visiting courgette for the food - but theserviceleaves something to be desired. i expect more from a fine dining establishment.

amazing meals, fantasticserviceand perfect atmosphere. great wine list. the perfect place for a quiet romantic dinner, or if you want to impress someone. not cheap, but you get what you pay for. highly recommend. :-))

saturday lunch interesting and visually appealing food which tasted excellent. very pleasant ambience on a cold canberra saturday. the tableservicewas first rate and we were made to feel very welcome and comfortable. overall a pleasant and first rate afternoon.

high expectations. we made our first visit to courgettes with great expectations - and they were met. great surroundings, attentiveservicewithout being overbearing and sensational food. every course hit the mark - great flavours, well presented and perfectly cooked.

superb. had an excellent anniversary dinner at courgette a few nights ago - we both agree one of the best we've ever had. the courses were beautifully presented, a delightful mixture of flavours and textures; the wine was good though perhaps we could have sought some advice and done better - not their fault.servicewas perfect - attentive but not fussy. $250 for two, and worth every cent.

one of the best meals we've had in canberra. the food is stunning, with finely balanced flavours and textures, and $80 for four courses represents great value. unfortunately theservicewas cold at best. after being seated with menus, a few mins later we were asked 'are you ready?' with no explanation of the wine list or menu whatsoever. water and bread were slow to be refilled, and i was not offered a second glass of wine. disappointing, compared to places that have similar food and getserviceright, like aubergine, italian and sons and ottoman

this is a beautifully understated space with food andserviceto match. absolutely could not fault it. perfect special night out venue.
