i first visitedcourgetteapproximately 3 years ago and the food was amazing! at the time it was 4 courses for $75. 3 years later and i managed to come back around with my husband and it wasn't quite the same. 4 courses now cost $88 (which is still very reasonable!) however it seemed like the focus was more on presentation of the dishes rather than flavours. i personally found the food a bit on the salty side. still very enjoyable with excellent friendly service.

absolutely devine! i have been holding out on you with my reviews and went tocourgettejust before the easter weekend. this one hatted restaurant certainly does not disappoint! dimly lit with modern decor i just loved the atmosphere. the service was immaculate, the waiters we had tended to our every need, they were regularly checking in with us and making polite conversation. the food, where do i start? presentation was simply amazing (see the photos), the taste of the meals matched. delicious!!! certainly save this place for that special night out!!!

lead by head chef james mussilion,courgetterestaurant serves fine french cuisine that is worthy of its sydney morning herald chef hats. the cuisine is classic, the ambience is relaxing and comfortable with an air of sophistication, and the service is pleasant with a ‘rough around the edges’ feel.

as much as i love going to chef hatted restaurants it must be planned well in advance as it would firstly, make a dent in my bank account, and secondly, tend to be difficult to book on weekends. the latter being more applicable to restaurants in sydney. so when dt and i had a mini weekend road trip to canberra it was the perfect opportunity to sample one of the finest and with a $66 three-course lunch menu that sealed the deal for me.courgettehas been awarded one hat for the past 4 years so i was expecting great food.

fine dining at its best. courgette's hospitality has to be well commended. the chefs attention to detail on each dish truely demonstates the amount of effort and time put in. each course had an abundance of flavours that compliment each other. the front of house staff are well mannered and are up to date with the menu as well as the ambiance was comforting. dining atcourgetteis well worth the time and money. i highly recommend dining here.

i sussed out all of the restaurants in canberra so that i could determine what restaurants to book for my holiday.courgettewas my top choice and i did thoroughly enjoy the food. the wine list was extensive and the menu is vegetarian friendly. the vego options are creative too which is always nice to see. the cheese platter was presented in a wacky and innovative way which was a nice surprise. i went with three other people and we all had a really good experience. the only downer was that the guy serving us was arrogant and very rude at the end. we were having a good time, had drunk multiple bottles of wine and spent a lot of money... and this guy was practically pushing us out the door. he kept coming over and asking us if he wanted us to get him to call a taxi... er no, no we don't... or we would have asked (obviously!) it wasn't even that late. so it is worth visitingcourgettefor the food - but the service leaves something to be desired. i expect more from a fine dining establishment.

superb. had an excellent anniversary dinner atcourgettea few nights ago - we both agree one of the best we've ever had. the courses were beautifully presented, a delightful mixture of flavours and textures; the wine was good though perhaps we could have sought some advice and done better - not their fault. service was perfect - attentive but not fussy. $250 for two, and worth every cent.

we thoroughly enjoyed our meal atcourgetteand will definitely be going back. we had the three course lunch and really couldn't fault a thing. the meals are beautifully presented and are absolutely delicious, with such attention to detail, they are a delight to look at as well as eat. we loved the various elements (sauces, purees, vegetables) on the plates. the chairs were comfortable and the decor pleasant, but at the time we went, the restaurant was a little quiet. i would like to go back when it is a little busier and i'm sure the atmosphere would be better. we thought the price ($60 for 3 courses) was reasonable for the quality of the food. service was friendly and attentive, without being overbearing or annoying. we would definitely like to go back to sample more of the menu!

expensive, and worth it.courgettemany years ago was a restaurant with top prices but that tended to just 'miss' - little things were not quite right; the seasoning, a small service error etc. this has all changed.

now it is a top class restaurant with superb service, elegant and restrained, and beautiful food, wine and coffee. and believe me, if i'm paying these prices, i'm fussy. this is definitely a venue to go to if you wish to celebrate a truly meaningful event, impress someone special or simply indulge yourself.

think of it as a culinary pamper session: pricey, luxurious and oh-so-worth-it.

hits all the right spots!.courgettetruly deserves its standing as one of canberra's great fine dining restaurants. service is terrific, attentive and were always willing to explain the menu and answer any questions we had. the 4 course menu for $80 offers exceptional value for money and makes this a fine dining experience a wonderful treat that won't leave you penniless. in terms of food; one cannot faultcourgettefor knowing how to make unusual flavours and textures work brilliantly; everything we had was delicious and tasted fresh while the presentation of dishes was simply beautiful. we waited for a relatively longer period than normal in between dishes (compared with other experiences) however i felt that waiting a little longer in between dishes worked well as it gave one enough time to savour their previous meal and begin to get excited about the next offering.

what i would suggest is thatcourgettetries to ensure that it is a little more prompt in getting an initial drink order off its diners after they are seated as we had to wait a bit too long to get drinks, however besides this tiny blight our experience was simply amazing and i would highly recommendcourgetteto anyone seeking a fabulous experience and wanting to highlight a special event in their life!
