best in canberra.greatservice,greatfood,greatambience in the restaurant. can't ask for more. they were very accommodating when we suddenly had two more guests than we booked for. had a wonderful meal here. love it and will be back again!

a nice spot for a special night out although the atmosphere is a bit stuffy - not the chic but casual currently trending, this is old school white table cloths and sparkling wine glasses and trendy cutlery. the food wasgreatwith an interesting range of choices and good value for a a four course meal with numerous options each course. only complaint is that my dishes while beautifully cooked were not served very hot. the dessert of mandarin and carrot flavours was the most unique but surprisingly good combo.

courgette definitely lived up to the hype for me! lovely mid-week night out to celebrate a birthday of a friend.greatwine (!) and even better food. to be expected but the food was delicious and well presented. only thing i didn't love was the cheese plate for dessert seemed to have been prepped a lot earlier (though the presentation was gorgeous!) definitely worth a trip - and they wrote happy birthday on my friend's dessert plate after i told them it was her birthday when booking - added bonus :)

as much as i love going to chef hatted restaurants it must be planned well in advance as it would firstly, make a dent in my bank account, and secondly, tend to be difficult to book on weekends. the latter being more applicable to restaurants in sydney. so when dt and i had a mini weekend road trip to canberra it was the perfect opportunity to sample one of the finest and with a $66 three-course lunch menu that sealed the deal for me. courgette has been awarded one hat for the past 4 years so i was expectinggreatfood.

one of the best meals we've had in canberra. the food is stunning, with finely balanced flavours and textures, and $80 for four courses representsgreatvalue. unfortunately the service was cold at best. after being seated with menus, a few mins later we were asked 'are you ready?' with no explanation of the wine list or menu whatsoever. water and bread were slow to be refilled, and i was not offered a second glass of wine. disappointing, compared to places that have similar food and get service right, like aubergine, italian and sons and ottoman

unlike some other places in canberra. you pay for quality here. the food was delicious, you could see everyone nodding in agreement as they ate. we left having agreatdining experience and will return.

courgette a canberra must!. having never been to canberra before it felt like my partner and i had hit the jackpot finding this elegant cosy fine little devine restaurant. it was lucky that we managed to get a table as from what i gather they are always heavily booked out, so my advice is to book in advance. the staff were very professional, welcoming and obliging with a good knowledge of the menu and wine list. for the level of top service, quality local produce and presentation not to mention food portions $80 is worth the bill. the pork belly was to die for with a subtle hint of melons and succulent strip of crackle, it melted in my mouth with a nice little crunch. my partner and i had a very relaxed and romantic evening intimately enjoying our meals, wine and the service. my partner finished on a nice warm note with a 40yr old cognac suggested by the waitress.greatcustomer service skills and up sale technique.

hits all the right spots!. courgette truly deserves its standing as one of canberra'sgreatfine dining restaurants. service is terrific, attentive and were always willing to explain the menu and answer any questions we had. the 4 course menu for $80 offers exceptional value for money and makes this a fine dining experience a wonderful treat that won't leave you penniless. in terms of food; one cannot fault courgette for knowing how to make unusual flavours and textures work brilliantly; everything we had was delicious and tasted fresh while the presentation of dishes was simply beautiful. we waited for a relatively longer period than normal in between dishes (compared with other experiences) however i felt that waiting a little longer in between dishes worked well as it gave one enough time to savour their previous meal and begin to get excited about the next offering.

what i would suggest is that courgette tries to ensure that it is a little more prompt in getting an initial drink order off its diners after they are seated as we had to wait a bit too long to get drinks, however besides this tiny blight our experience was simply amazing and i would highly recommend courgette to anyone seeking a fabulous experience and wanting to highlight a special event in their life!

deserves it's best in canberra rating. beautifully prepared, presented and tasty food. pork belly simply delicious, as is the crusted beef. save room for dessert as they are a real highlight - white chocolate, caramel and bananas is simply sensational. topped with agreatwine list this is unquestionably the best restaurant in canberra, and holds its own against what's on offer in melbourne and sydney.

every single three course menu dish, of course not including drinks came out looking and tasting superb.

add the bottles of red, beers and tips and you're bound to leave with a hole in your pocket but totally justified with the table service and manners of the place.

the setting was very sparse, tables were scattered without any real co-ordination so not that appealing to the eyes but if you get a seat where you can see the court yard, its beautiful.

the panna cotta was an absolutely divine with a tinge of citrus tang, mind you, this is coming from a savoury lover...

absolutely fantastic! the beef fillet was exceptional and beautifully coupled with a vanilla creme brulee. the date pudding was also amazing. overall, brilliant food was well complimented with a lovely wine selection andgreatservice, a must visit for travelers and locals alike.
