awesome fish tacos, best on maui! my husband had thetacoswith ono- chunks of nicely seasoned fish, cabbage slaw, sauce and mango salsa. delicious. i had one of their fish burgers with lemon butter seasoned opakapaka on a whole wheat bun. their lemoney tarter sauce and cabbage slaw on the burger was really good too. both of our lunches were pretty messy, but so good! will definately be coming here regularly when we're in town :)

best fishtacosi've had on maui to date, a mix of mahi mahi and ono (wahoo for us mainlanders) the decor is fun, eating on surfboard tables and benches and getting to share the experience with other diners is part of the fun. there is a line up and a bit of a wait but for good reason, great staff aeemed very appreciative of our visit and actually thanked us for coming.

not bad....... after spending the morning on big beach we dropped in here to snag a bite....the steaktacoswere pretty good and everyone was satisfied.....we gave it a try since its high up on the maui list but nothing really set it apart from similar restaurants......

i don't know another way to say...the best fishtacoson the planet. must visit if visiting maui!! you will regret skipping this place.

great. went here twice the fishtacosare amazing. you can split a dish they are huge. got a fish burger the next time it was great. huge everything delicious.

fishtacosare all they're cracked up to be, and more. the mango salsa is amazing. also had an ahi tuna burger, and it was delicious.

best fishtacosever!!. we almost missed this place on the way to the airport! luckily, we turned around and went back. we were not disappointed!! the fishtacoswere amazing!!! i don't know if we can ever get any this good in texas!! oh wait!! i think we are going to get a chance!! we heard they are opening in austin later this year!! cannot wait!!

this review and rating is based on this type of
restaurant. you order at the front cashier and then pick a table where they bring you the food. the menu was full of fish options and other. the calamari was tender and not over cooked (which can unfortunately be quite common at many places), the coconut shrimp and thai pineapple dipping sauce was delicious, fishtacoswere delicious, while the plain cheeseburger and remaining fish dishes were as expected with no surprises. the menu commented on the famous coleslaw, which although good, i was not sure why it was “famous”. service was fast and friendly, cost was reasonable and ambiance was great if you want to make some noise and be with a groups of friends just have a great bite to eat.

first place my fiance and i went to when we landed in maui after 20hrs of travel from sydney and after cleaning the fermented sweat in my erogenous zones we went to coconang fish cafe and i liked the poke and fishtacosand the server even gave us tips and instructions on how to eat the fishtacosbut because i'm mainly a visual and kinaesthetic learner most of his tips went in one ear and out the other and the fish taco was messy to eat but i don't blame the cafe i don't blame the man i don't blame the fish and i don't even blame the taco i blame it on the boogie (michael jordan reference) and i had so much iced tea from the unlimited drinks fountain my fiance was afraid i would wet the bed on our first night in hawaii but i didn't because i'm a grown man i do it in a toilet

fishtacosare awesome. we loved them! daughter got coconut shrimp, son got mahi sandwich, everyone should have gotten the fish tacos. probably the best i’ve had.

a casual restaurant right across the street from one of the best (sunset) beaches in maui.
place order at counter and find a seat at a wood carved surfboard table. the line moves fairly quickly. worth the wait. service is on point.

thick meaty cubes of fresh mahi mahi and ono, a light coconut milk mayo coleslaw, and a generous topping of mango tomato salsa in a lightly crisp warm double corn tortilla...
a delicious handful. the smart hawaiian twist of using coconut milk instead of conventional mayo makes it surprisingly light tasting, not heavy at all.
i folded in half and enjoyed every messy bite.
tip: use a fork to help lighten the load of toppings!
you get to savour two times ($12.75 for twintacos- may seem pricey but flavourful and very filling). colourful, bright, light and fresh - a symbol of everything that is maui!
we all agreed it was the best fish taco we've eaten on the island.
we also tried the coconut shrimp with shaved coconut, battered and fried to crispy perfection served with pineapple chili sauce, and it too was finger licking good.
the food was so tasty we went back the next day.
oh and coconut’s is named in honour of the family kitty cat (who passed away this past november - rip coconut).
we give coconut’s cafe two thumbs wayyyy up, shaka-style.

great place if you're on the go or wanting something really quick. service was good and food came out quickly. fishtacoswere cooked perfectly as was the mahi mahi fish.

saw that this place had good reviews on multiple sites so decided to try... asked the server for the popular dishes and she recommended the fishtacosand the fish burger. she also suggested coconut shrimp... ordered all 3 and the meal was even better than expected. the coconut shrimp was crispy with sweet hints of coconut... the fish burger was charred nicely and so moist. the fishtacoswere very flavourful.. loved the mangos salsa in the tacos. highly recommended.

i had the fish and chips. both were over cooked and chewy. i think i would have been better off going down the street and buying a fillet-o- fish sandwich and fries. people who rave about the fishtacosshould try other places and compare.
