coconut’s fish cafe is a small casual restaurant in the azeka mauka shopping center in kihei. it is at 1279 south kihei road. phone 808-875-9979. at coconut’s, you order at a counter, they prepare your food quickly, and then you pick it up at the counter andeatat tables shaped like surfboards. their specialties are fish tacos, fish & chips, and fish “burgers” (fish filet sandwiches). their fish & chips is healthier than at most places, because it has a light coating and is not greasy. in 2013, coconuts was named by cnn as one of the top ten places in the country to “eat like a local.” see below for photos and a list of some of their menu items.
