i brought my mom here for a seafood tower on her birthday for the second year in a row. last year was really good, i would say 4.5 out of 5. this year, not impressed. the scallops had a strong ammonia taste, indicating that they had gone bad. the waitress tried to tell me that they had a strong flavour because they were served raw. um, no. i know what raw scallops are supposed to taste like. she did replace the scallops with extra tuna poke, but again tried to convince me that the scallops were fresh and the strong taste was due to the preparation. oyster shucking was sloppy, many shell fragments, both in the seafood tower and the happy hour oysters that we ordered. we were treated to a free dessert for my mom's birthday, which was nice, but the decline in quality from last year was disappointing. there are many amazing restaurants in vancouver, won't be back to this one.
