yesterday, i went to lunch with a couple of female co-workers and we decided to head over to coast restaurant in their newer location on alberni. i'm not sure if it was what i chose to eat, but i think i liked the food at the old yaletown spot better. som

awesome restaurant!. the prices is really good considering the awesome location, the ambience inside is really "expensive" looking, and the food is excellent. although a seafood restaurant, they have many other things that are also really good. my favourite is the 'wolfe burger".. the chefs name is ... wolfe, and he designed this giant burger seriously the best ive ever had. prime rib, with a crab aoili.. then a lobster poutine on the side! mmmm.. it was a special at the time, but im sure if you asked for it they would make it for you!!

this newly relocated seafood restaurant is the latest offering from the glowbal company and sits on alberni street across from its sibling the italian kitchen. rumoured to cost more than 3 million to build, the coast is flashy, huge, and bustling busy. it

this is yvr's best new spot. vegas style dining with all the views to go with it. there is no better lobster tail in the city - once you've had this steak and turf you'll never go back to the keg. vieux pin merlot is an outstanding pairing. the sushi is delicious, any of the rolls are winners. don't forget to order the lobster poutine and of course the off the menu prawn meatballs spaghetti (answer to the kobe spaghetti across the street). crab tempura is phenom as are the oysters. crab cakes are huge but so is the price. one of the best wine lists in the city.

just came back from a fun night at coast. we loved the appetizers, the drinks, the wine and the atmosphere. the main courses and desserts were hit and miss. we would go back for lunch but for the money, you'll get a much better dinner at blue water cafe.

went during the vancouver dine out event. the food was decent and their dessert was really good. service was satisfactory ambiance was great.

no short of extraordinary. my favourite seafood restaurant in town. excellent appetizers, entrees and desserts. service was outstanding. would not hesitate to book a reservation.

great fish... receipes not spot on. lets start with the food and then move on. the quality was excellent but the mixture of flavours need some work. the last point was tried out my new www.letsgofordinner.com loyalty card and got $25 off my meal... great.

my wife and i shared a starter - chorizio and calamari and had as mains artic char and sablefish. the starter was a bit of a surprise as i cannot recall seeing anything about tomato sauce,so after this we tasted it. the calamari had a great texture soft with just the right level of resistance in the mouth. the chorizo, blended with the sauce and created a sweet flavour and not the iberian kick i am used to .. worked but not a home run.

my wifes sablefish was very tasty cooked to perfection like my char but the accompanying sauce of beets and barley i am not sure what else was just not quite right. i think they missed the salad

my char sauce was going to be challenging mixture of shaved truffles, saurkeraut and saffron potatoes just did not work. i do not remember getting any potatoes it was like an orchestra with a death metal band inside of it trying to play holst.. could of worked but it was a real stretch. saurkeraut obliterates everything in its path and with some oily fish works but with truffles and carrots .. it just becomes a bit of a mess. have another go guys... lots of things that go with saurkeraut

now saying all this i would go back again to make sure that it was just not a bad night.

the front of house was good and bad... sat quickly but problems taking reservation, my wife left a response and they emailed next day brilliant and the tables 2 x 6 we sat next too was so loud it was a mistake.

overall, good try and liked to try again...

i am not a huge fan of the glowbal corporation but i don't mind coast.. i've been to coast before for teasers and crab cakes. they were pretty good. this time, we shared a mussels and fries, the bread was yummy and the mussels were good. i really did not

great experience. wow! i can't believe no one has written about this place before.

my partner and i were on our way back from urban fare when we ran into coast's gm and executive chef. after a brief chat we were reserved for two seats at the community table. after a year living above the place, hearing the happy sounds of the outdoor diners waft to our apartment, i now understand why these folks are so happy. great food, wonderful atmosphere, and excellent service.

our experience at the community table was fantastic. i love eating from a chef's tasting menu because i get to eat things that i ordinarily wouldn't order or get to sample a chef's specialties. bruce really gave us a meal to remember. the blueberry bread pudding, fois gras, toasted pistachios, and strawberry took me by surprise with the great combination of flavors and textures. the barley "risotto" with king crab and scallops gave me a new appreciation of great things you can do with barley!

this really was one of the best dining experiences i've had in any restaurant in any city.
