i was truly amazed by the interiors of this place, it was upmarket with a dash of casual. service follows and more importantly they are very aware of the menu and what goes into preparation of each dish which is very important. now onto actual food, we decided to go set menu so we can try out maximum number of items in their smaller portions. i was truly surprised to see hot & sour soup was the one you would get in us and not the typical hot & sour we get in india. starters are very very tasty and i say that because i usually don't like dumplings but these were great. however i did not think much of the main course, we had three main items andfriedrice of which we only really liked thefriedrice and crispy french beans. mango pudding i thought was a bit of a shock as it was canned mango juice with pudding but i was expecting more fresh and organic taste, especially at this price.

overall i had a wonderful experience and am already looking forward to going back again.

this is one of my favourite restaurants but i was highly disappointed when i found out they have stopped serving fixed menu for lunch for a small group of people. you need at least 8 people or more on your table.
we had the dongu prawns withfriedgarlic and onion which was delicious. the chicken and prawn dumplings were also very good. the salmon sushi looked perfect when it arrived but it lacked in flavour and it definitely needed some element of crunch for a different texture. the highlight of our lunch was the dan-dan noodles with peanut broth. simply delicious.

overall a really nice authentic chinese food experience.

suggestions provided by chef yuzuo were apt! we loved dumplings in spicy broth soup and the dim sums were great too.

for mains we triedfriedrice with chicken, egg and asparagus. it was very flavourful.

the only negative point was the service. nobody was there to attend us and order took a lot of time.

craving for some good chinese food??china house is where you should visit.

i visited this place with my family for lunch. a perfect place where we could find food that would satiate every one's taste buds. good ambiance and amazing service would make you feel special. our server mr. bhagwati made sure we had the best dishes from the menu.

coming to the food, we had ordered vegetable noodle soup. it is same as veg. clear soup served at other places. dumplings and dimsums are a must have for any authentic chinese cuisine. we had ordered crystal vegetable dumpling and baby corn, carrot and beans dimsums. it tasted amazing with the sweet chilli sauce.

stone spicy local potato with chilli, onion and celery had a perfect blend of spices. we ordered clay pot seasonal vegetables with shichuan chilli sauce along withfriedrice with bean sprouts, bell pepper and chinese cabbage. this is something which one shouldn't miss. noodles lovers should definitely try wokfriedudon noodles with black pepper, green onion and bell pepper.

a chinese meal is incomplete without hot pot tea. though only no tea is mentioned in the menu, do ask for a separate tea menu. from the list of teas from east, we ordered crystal tea which had infused flower flavors.

on and all, a must visit place of you are looking for a great experience with some amazing food.

horrible horrible experience. not sure what to write when you find hair in your food. with the standard of this restaurant, this is is not acceptable under any circumstances.
thefriedrice came with hair in it. once i reported the wait staff quickly took it and threw it away. i wanted to take a photo and they didn't let me do it. after some back and forth argument they finally got a plate wtih just that hair in it (photo attached) stating once reported they don't share it back with the customer.
on top of that, even though we returned it, they still charged is for thefriedrice.
definitely i am not a returning customer and nor referring anyone either.

we had ordered:
(1) traditional hot and sour soup with bamboo shoots
(2) pork spare ribs in sichuan sauce
(3)friedrice with prawns, turkey...

what we got:
(1) regular over salted hot and sour soup with no visible bamboo shoots!!
(2) very dry, stale looking pork ribs which were not at all fresh.. seemed like they had alreadyfriedthe pork ribs long back and had just added sauce and given.. the pork were not at all fresh and not at all juicy!!
(3) thefriedrice hardly had any meat pieces.. just seemed like a regular dish offriedrice...

apart from the food, what was really disappointing was the fact that as soon as we arrived, we were not even alloted a table despite more than half of restaurant being empty.. the manager didnt seem to bother to entertain us... we had to approach him 3 times and then third time we were alloted a table.. bad service!!

as far as prices are concerned, u just pay for the ambience i guess.. the food, is not at all worth even half of the amount.. better eat at some local restaurant..

something really different from the usual amdavadi street food. definitely reasonably priced and pretty much sumptuous on quantity. an evening where i decided to treat myself up for some chinese craving. the ambience was absolutely classy and was a treat to the eyes. impeccable hospitality and some amazing quality of food for which hyatt is famous for.

to try, definitely the dimsums for the festival that's running and thefriedrice with chicken, egg and garlic. it's definitely sumptuous for one and reasonable on the pocket. i'd also heavily recommend the caramel rocher. an absolute monster of a dessert its just perfect to end a good meal at this place.

kudos for the food and service guys! looking forward to visiting again

i was invited to the dimsum festival at china house. they have an exciting collection of dimsums with a wide variety of ingredients - some of these are ingredients i've never yet had anywhere in ahmedabad - like truffle oil. the ambiance is superb, beautiful lights, and comfortable, fanned out seating arrangement. even the service is great - certainly what you'd expect from a restaurant at hyatt. here's a list of the things that i tried:

ginger rougui ale
the ginger ale was refreshing, especially owing to the touch of the cinnamon, that was infused in the drinks.

crystal edamame pouch
the crystal edamame pouch were some great looking and delicious dumplings. the outer dough in which the edamame was stuffed was so thin that it became almost translucent after steaming, giving an extremely appetizing appearence to the dumplings.

mushroom medley
even the mushroom medley dumplings were almost translucent, beautiful looking delicious dumplings. the mushroom filling had a crunchy and creamy texture, adding to the deliciousness of the dumplings.

ying yang dumplings
these were black and white dumplings made by mixing ground black and white sesame seeds in the dough to impart a beautiful looking contrasting colour effect. in addition to being super delicious, these were also super delicious.

crispy golden puffs
these werefrieddumplings - quite frankly, i didn't like them too much.

pumpkin chiu-chow dumplings
personally, i didn't like even the pumpkin chiu chow dumplings too much, although some of my friends seemed it like them quite a bit.

poached chicken pokchoy spheres
the poached chicken pokchoy spheres were the best of all - poached chicken dumplings covered with pokchoy leaves and then steamed - an absolute delight on the taste buds.

xiaolongbao
these dumplings were stuffed with minced pork and jelly - although the pork tasted great, i'm not a very big fan of jelly in dumplings, which is why i didn't like it too much.

spicy corriander chicken
even the spicy corriander chicken dumplings were also delicious. the crunch of the corriander gave a great in-mouth feel along with the chicken.

cha sui chicken puff
personally, i'm not a huge fan offrieddumplings, so don't mind me when i say that i didn't like these too much.

the items below are available on the regular menu as well:

shandong potatoes
these are great tasting sliced potatoes tossed in a delicious spicy-tangy sauce. these taste especially good with noodles or rice.

udon noodles
the flat noodles were cooked great and tasted great with the lamb curry and the shandong potatoes.

silken tofu
personally, given the choice, i would rather not eat tofu or paneer - but the sauce in which the silken tofu was tossed was delectable. but since i don't like the texture of tofu, i didn't quite like the overall dish too much.

jasminefriedrice
the jasminefriedrice were also cooked well and tasted delightful with both, the shandong potatoes and the lamb curry.

stone bowl lamb curry
the stone bowl lamb curry was the highlight of the meal - a star dish, if you might. the curry was delicious and even the lamb was perfectly cooked; and it tasted absolutely fantastic with the jasminefriedrice and the udon noodles.

this was our 2nd visit to this place and it does not fail to impress. we ordered crispy veg as starter along with hot sour soup. the soup was just ok but the veggies were yumm. so was the main course-friedrice and tofu fungus stew. we also had udon noodles- which were delicious.the experience was great. it would be great if there were more options in veg starter ( not in dim sum category) and in noodles.

loved the experience of stone bowl festival. ambiance is so pleasant. this place serves the best authentic chinese food.

i tried 7 different dishes and each one was so delicious and perfectly prepared.friedpotato dumplings and tofu in soya sauce was the highlight of the evening.

the dessert too was prepared in stone, which was so amazing - brownie lychee icecream.
