we had ordered:
(1) traditional hot and sour soup with bamboo shoots
(2) pork spare ribs in sichuan sauce
(3) fried rice with prawns, turkey...

what we got:
(1) regular over salted hot and sour soup with no visible bamboo shoots!!
(2) very dry, stale looking pork ribs which were not at all fresh.. seemed like they had already fried the pork ribs long back and had just added sauce and given.. the pork were not at all fresh and not at all juicy!!
(3) the fried rice hardly had any meat pieces.. just seemed like a regular dish of fried rice...

apart from the food, what was really disappointing was the fact that as soon as we arrived, we were not even alloted a table despite more than half of restaurant being empty.. the manager didnt seem to bother to entertain us... we had to approach him 3 times and then third time we were alloted a table.. bad service!!

as far as prices are concerned, u just pay for theambiencei guess.. the food, is not at all worth even half of the amount.. better eat at some local restaurant..

the place has delectable, authentic and quality chinese food. the noodles (both veg noodles and egg noodles) were thin and contained right amount of spices. dimsums, both chicken and lamb, were soft and tasty. tofu soup was light and came in as a perfect starter. chicken amd lamb curry dishes were properly cooked, tasty and amazing! must have.

in desserts, i tried creme brulee and caramel rosher almond bar. it was tasty, however, the sweetness is on the higher side! so, be prepared to satisfy your sweet tooth overwhelmingly!

another plus about the place is that it serves japanese cuisine, including sushi.

we were served by a young, polite, enthusiastic and happy sapien named shubham. he ensured that we ate each dish with ease and was diligent at all times.

overall theambienceadded to the experience. the place was quiet and had the quintessential soft oriental music to give 'chinese feel'!

easily the best chinese served in ahmedabad:)

something really different from the usual amdavadi street food. definitely reasonably priced and pretty much sumptuous on quantity. an evening where i decided to treat myself up for some chinese craving. theambiencewas absolutely classy and was a treat to the eyes. impeccable hospitality and some amazing quality of food for which hyatt is famous for.

to try, definitely the dimsums for the festival that's running and the fried rice with chicken, egg and garlic. it's definitely sumptuous for one and reasonable on the pocket. i'd also heavily recommend the caramel rocher. an absolute monster of a dessert its just perfect to end a good meal at this place.

kudos for the food and service guys! looking forward to visiting again

the place is a gem. hyatt recency needs no introduction and it goes without saying that i have been in love with the food here ever since my 1st visit.

recently went there for their dim sum fest and they also have a hashtag for that because why not! #dimsumhavesome so here it goes. everyone knows about theambienceand the seating so i wont venture into that and go straight to the food.

we started off with some specially curated drinks namely the herbed yezi which has coconut and lychee. the anise si which has star anise as the main ingredient of the drink. and the ginger ròuguì ale. they have many more but the main concept is that each drink is centred around one dry spice, the flavour of which is enhanced by the combination of ingredients used to prepare the drink.

the star of the fest, the dimsums:

first in line were the crystal edamame pouch dimsums which have black truffle oil, stuffed water chestnut & fur beans. these are a must have for vegetarians.

next recommendation is the ying yang dumplings. these are a visual treat in black & white sesame dough which is stuffed with vegetables and sweet potatoes. another veg delight.

for the non vegetarians the pork chicken pokchoy dumplings and the spicy coriander chicken dumplings are a must have. they were spot on when it came to the way they were cooked and we loved the taste! absolutely delicious.

and after all this if you still have space in your tummy, go for the main course as well. the lamb curry here served in the stone bowl is to die for. have that with some jasmine rice and you'll be sorted.

vegetarians can go for the silken tofu and some udon noodles and that should do the trick. the shandong potatoes were absolutely fab! everyone loved them. do try those. and the dumpling soup! gosh! so many of there dishes are worth trying that i don't think anyone can manage this in one go unless your entire gang pays them a visit at once. lovely concept that has been executed very nicely! loved it all!

p.s. this fest only lasts till october. this month ends and the dimsums vanish from their menu. so go grab a bite before it's too late! you won't regret it for sure. do check out the photos tho.

bon appetite! :)
