we went here for the late night tapas. the staff was very welcoming and friendly. the decor could use a bit more finesse; it looked like it was still under construction and our booth moved when we slid into it. but, what the decor lacked the food made up for in spades. the sea bass was delicious! the portions were generous fortapasand the price was reasonable for the quality of the dishes.

awesome. we arrived late (9:45pm with a 10pm closing time) on june 17th, 2013.
the staff was friendly and seated us with no problems. our server was dan, and he was great!
the food was awesome. based on recommendations i saw online, we got the chai sangria and goat cheese plate first. both were absolutely phenomenal. i am attempting to recreate the chai sangria as i type this :)
we also ordered steak and potatoes, the fig plate, and chicken potpie- all were very delicious as well.
i would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. this atmosphere was quiet and romantic, yet the family of 4 behind us felt right at home as well. we had no problems with slow wait times or rude service. it was everything i could've hoped for in atapasrestaurant.

wonderful! every time i am in the area i make it a point to have dinner at chill. the food is always incredible, and last night was no exception. i admit, reading previous reviews made me somewhat nervous since i hadn't been in a few months, but i can assure you that any & all kinks are completely worked out. our chefs were competent, quick, & fun to watch, and our waitress, lara, was wonderful. she was friendly, attentive, & allowed us to eat at our own pace without rush or pressure, which is exactly what you want in atapasrestaurant. the menu features a sweet baked brie or a savory brie. we opted for the savory one & fell in love! it's amazing served w/bread & crostini's. i highly recommend it & it's the perfecttapasstart to warm up those taste buds. we're going back to try the sweet brie next! we ordered the beef & shrooms next, and it too, did not disappoint! the beef was cooked perfectly and the mushrooms were simply fabulous. we opted for dessert next & tried the "red", a red velvet pudding cake with caramel & vanilla ice cream. it was warm, sweet, and not too heavy. perfect way to end ourtapasnight. oh, & i can't forget to mention the sangria! we had the traditional house sangria. perfectly sweet, and a great deal if you order a pitcher! overall, i had another incredible experience at chill & wish i could convince ruthie, the incredibly nice and ever-expanding owner, to relocate the entire restaurant to rhode island!!

we have been here twice now, and both times everything we ordered was delicious! it can be pricey, because it is atapasrestaurant, but definitely worth it for special occasions. and i recommend sitting at the counter so you can watch the chefs cook all the yummy food over 2 single burner stoves and an oven! will definitely return again and again.

horrible chef with attitude!. the chef jackie is horrible....so rude! she actually had the nerve to come over to the table and mouth off to my husband because she served him raw steaktapas(for $18!!). her food sucks! aweful chef with rotten attitude. shame as the owner ruthie is so nice. service is terrible and slow....young staff that fools around as if customers were not present. over rated...over priced...not worth the time to eat. nice for music only.

i fear the earth may rip itself from its axis and go hurtling toward the sun at any moment.  edgy, contemporary mediterranean-inspired cuisine has arrived (and appears to be thriving) in the barren, culinary wasteland that is the food-fearing tourist mecca of st. pete beach...where crabby bill's (and other "seafood shacks" of its ilk) have reigned supreme since god was a child.  hopefully, despite evidence to the contrary, the apocalypse is not nigh, because i need to get back to chill...like, yesterday. this sleek, urbanesque littletapasbar shares a building with steam espresso bar (same owners) which specializes in coffee, breakfast, sandwiches and baked goods.  cute idea!  there is an actualtapas"bar" where diners may sit and watch their creations being prepared to order, which would've been our first choice had it not been already slammed at 6:00 pm on a saturday night...so we slid into a comfy window booth.  our server, carl, was clearly a seasoned professional who was highly

outstanding!!!. this place is absolutely great! we haven't been for breakfast yet, but we hear it is even better. theirtapasplates are decently priced for the exceptional quality. the cucumber salad makes cucumbers taste like gold, seafood plates were phenomenal, beef plates as well. i think our table ordered 7 plates, plus a desert, hot chocolate and mocha's, and every first bite ended up with a "wow!". i highly recommend chill. great, quiet and relaxing atmosphere with a open style kitchen like in the cooking shows, which i like a lot. go!

visited there after reading the urbanspoon rating. longtime visitor to st pete the past 30 years

the food is spectacular. the owner, ruthie, and her chef jacquiline make a great team. all of thetapasdishes were fresh, unique and delicious.

this is the best dining we've ever enjoyed on st pete beach and the success of the restaurant evolved from the demands of customers, who encouraged te ruthie to expand and do more. great food, great atmosphere, great music and a great time

we went twice during our visit and brought two friends who are long time st pete residents. they also raved about chill

don't miss it when you visit

where to start? my experience with chill began in august '11. i had just relocated on a temporary basis from tampa which recently came to an end after 6 months and now i find myself back in tampa 45 minutes away for the majority of my time right now and i must say, chill will be worth the ride back any time i can. reason? the quality, the people, the free internet, the comfortable " anti-breakfast shop atmosphere", and the fact that i can conduct business there for hours on end, or homework with the kids, and feel entirely comfortable the whole way through. such a quiet gem that has perfected the blend of breakfast, lunch, andtapasdinner with incredibly quality ingredients and a welcoming approach that has kept on bringing me back. don't hit the eggs n bacon place or the chain dinner venue. try chill ... morning or night... you will be right at home. trust me.

hits every tastebud on the way down. great dining experience. ruthie the owner, jackie and all the chefs and our server gabriella made this dining experience truly wonderful. ruthie is warm and engaging and the food truly does hit every taste bud on the way down.tapasare on the larger side for atapasso don't be afraid to start with one and share and move your way around the menu. after eachtapaswe were afraid to order another because we didn't want to be disappointed but we never were. our favourites - chilean sea bass, hog fish, watermelon salad, crab cake, seafood crepe and seafood alfredo. loved it all and can't wait to come back to st. pete's beach just go eat there.

extremly pleased!. we visited this place twice, once for coffee in the am and dinnertapasstyle in the evening while making a short trip to the area visiting a local college for our daughter. this was our first time with thetapasstyle, the waiter was very helpful and friendly. the owner talked to us quite a while and we found her to be very down to earth and funny. she did not seem the slightest bit "snooty" to us as was mentioned in a previous review. the food was fantastic. hubby says it was the best food he has ever had. we are hoping our daughter chooses this college so we can come back to chill (and steam)

oh, my. an urban cafe...on the beach!

owner ruthie and chef jackie (wolfgang puck by way of bern's) make for a real yummy combination. interesting and delicioustapasof all sorts. we have been there twice in the evening, once for a sunday brunch (bananas foster french toast!) , once for a weekday breakfast, and once for a takeout lox-and-bagel (irresistible). all consistently good. and with some laid-back acoustical music on weekend evenings!

what a wonderful, adult addition to this community!
