disappointing. i am disappointed to share such a badexperienceas we have been to steam multiple times and had great experiences and we were waited on by the owner and her family who are wonderful and we wanted to check out chill. i'm not able to comment on the quality of the food though the menu had a great variety. we never had the opportunity to order as we were not greeted by a server even though we had been seated for over 10 minutes. during this 10-12 minute wait we observed the server shooting the breeze (nothing related to the tables order) with the booth directly behind ours. he never communicated that he would be right with us or even acknowledged our presence. after waiting roughly 12 minutes to be acknowledged i went up to the hostess stand to ask if we could get some service and though she saw me standing at the stand she continued chatting with another table for over 3 minutes. when i arrived back to the table my companions were amazed that in that amount of time no staff attempted to communicate or help me. needless to say we left, won't go back and will be sure all of our contacts don't waste their time. three of the four of us have either waited tables or managed restaurants and were shocked at the lack of communication, acknowledgement and service as we know the owner of the establishment would never operate in such a manner but apparently needs to do better screening when hiring to be sure staff meets her standards.

wonderful! every time i am in the area i make it a point to have dinner at chill. the food is always incredible, and last night was no exception. i admit, reading previous reviews made me somewhat nervous since i hadn't been in a few months, but i can assure you that any & all kinks are completely worked out. our chefs were competent, quick, & fun to watch, and our waitress, lara, was wonderful. she was friendly, attentive, & allowed us to eat at our own pace without rush or pressure, which is exactly what you want in a tapas restaurant. the menu features a sweet baked brie or a savory brie. we opted for the savory one & fell in love! it's amazing served w/bread & crostini's. i highly recommend it & it's the perfect tapas start to warm up those taste buds. we're going back to try the sweet brie next! we ordered the beef & shrooms next, and it too, did not disappoint! the beef was cooked perfectly and the mushrooms were simply fabulous. we opted for dessert next & tried the "red", a red velvet pudding cake with caramel & vanilla ice cream. it was warm, sweet, and not too heavy. perfect way to end our tapas night. oh, & i can't forget to mention the sangria! we had the traditional house sangria. perfectly sweet, and a great deal if you order a pitcher! overall, i had another incredibleexperienceat chill & wish i could convince ruthie, the incredibly nice and ever-expanding owner, to relocate the entire restaurant to rhode island!!

train wreck. i was so disappointed with myexperienceat chill. visiting the art festival on corey ave. this past weekend, i was approached by a bubbly blonde handing out cookies and menus from the restaurant chill. i've heard mixed things about the place from friends but online it appeared as if most reviews were outstanding so my wife and i decided to give it a go. we were pleased when we were sat at one of the tables surrounding the chefs. watching the chefs was the one and only good part of the experience, however. for starters, the music was way too loud for such a small place and i found it hard for my wife and i to hear each other. it took several minutes for our server to even come by and when he did he wasn't very friendly. the chefs had to read the menu to know how to make the dishes they were serving which we found strange. they explained that the menu had changed from the night before and they had not even made some of the things they were being required to serve. we felt so sorry for them. they were very nice and apologetic that the food was going to take a long time, but we waited over an hour for our main dishes. the worst part of theexperiencethough was when the owner talked down to the chefs in front of everyone. we were shocked. we had the front row seat to a train wreck. never going back.

beyond delicious!. my husband and i took a vacation to st. pete's beach and before leaving cincinnati, he researched some places in the area where we could dine- this being one of the places that was highly recommended. we loved it so much the first time that we dined there again before we left for home!
chef jackie is amazing to say the least. she creates dishes that taste as wonderful as they look. i am an extraordinarily picky eater and through jackie's (and the other contributors to the menu) creativity i found myself eating things that i would not normally eat and thoroughly enjoying them- one of these things being the bruschetta which was extremely delicious. if you dine here be sure to save room for dessert- "red" is a great dessert option.
both times that we dined at chill the atmosphere was fantastic and sitting at the chef's table was a treat and a newexperiencefor my husband and me! the service we received was amazing and our food was prepared quickly but with high quality and attention to detail.

after dining here i think it is safe to say that it will be difficult to enjoy food anywhere else! chill has certainly raised the bar for my expectations while dining out!

it is safe to say that when we return to the st. pete's area we will plan at least one trip to chill.

delightful. this is a place where you will enter the dining experience. be prepared to savor your food and the warmth of the kitchen. the food is created with love and magic and you can taste it. you will truelyexperiencethe culinary mastery from the secrets only grandmas' grandma knew from days of old. everything is made from the freshest ingredients and made to order. the only dissapointment will be that you won't be able to try everything on the menu the first sitting.so, you will desire to come back in the attempt to try everything. give yourself plenty of time to eat. you do not want to be rushed. the decor is impeccable. the wait staff is attentive and happy.there is live music that will enjoy and you can dine by. the prices are very reasonable. this is the place to come for a meal that will wake up and satisfy all of your tastebuds.

where to start? myexperiencewith chill began in august '11. i had just relocated on a temporary basis from tampa which recently came to an end after 6 months and now i find myself back in tampa 45 minutes away for the majority of my time right now and i must say, chill will be worth the ride back any time i can. reason? the quality, the people, the free internet, the comfortable " anti-breakfast shop atmosphere", and the fact that i can conduct business there for hours on end, or homework with the kids, and feel entirely comfortable the whole way through. such a quiet gem that has perfected the blend of breakfast, lunch, and tapas dinner with incredibly quality ingredients and a welcoming approach that has kept on bringing me back. don't hit the eggs n bacon place or the chain dinner venue. try chill ... morning or night... you will be right at home. trust me.

great discovery. i happened upon chill while in st. pete for a lazy sunday. the exterior beckoned like a coffee shop and i strolled in. yes, has its own very nice coffee shop attached, but the restaurant is where i found a home.

decore is very tastefully, artfully and elegantly done. a starbucks meets jazz club atmosphere with polished, warm furnishings that have a rich feel and appearance. i particularly liked the long granite topped "bar" sitting area that welcomes single diners, small groups or appetizer dining.

i was pleasantly surprised to find a live jazz flutist playing. his music was perfect: lively but not too overpowering and generated a terrific sunday brunch positive energy.

the prep kitchen was surprisingly tucked right up front. you would think it would dominate or distract but instead it only contributed to the energy of the experience. there was no order shouting as everything was done via printed network tickets so the food was prepped, plated and picked up by servers with little confusion or discussion. fascinating to watch and guaranteed the quality of the prepared dishes. impressive.

and the food? an incredible array of delightfully unique choices. i don't recall ever having such a joy trying to just narrow down my selection! i ultimately decided on the berries and brie crepes which were excellent and fit the sunday brunch mood perfectly. food is generously portioned and beautifully plated. the ingredients are fresh, first rate and perfectly combined. they even squeeze their own orange juice! delicious.

the staff is very pleasant, well-trained and comfortable. they go about their duties with a confident air but remain wonderful hosts .

although the food, selection and atmosphere was perfect, by far the bestexperiencewas having the pleasure of the owner, ruthie, dropping by to ensure i was enjoying myself. ruthie is a beautiful, genuine hostess and wonderful conversationalist. she circulated the room as one visiting old friends and finding new ones. the direct attention was very flattering and welcoming. a wonderful and rare approach. you will feel very comfortable and undoubtedly settle in to stay longer than expected..it is that good.

overall, i am stunned by how pleasurable theexperiencewas and i will be returning soon!

hits every tastebud on the way down. great dining experience. ruthie the owner, jackie and all the chefs and our server gabriella made this diningexperiencetruly wonderful. ruthie is warm and engaging and the food truly does hit every taste bud on the way down. tapas are on the larger side for a tapas so don't be afraid to start with one and share and move your way around the menu. after each tapas we were afraid to order another because we didn't want to be disappointed but we never were. our favourites - chilean sea bass, hog fish, watermelon salad, crab cake, seafood crepe and seafood alfredo. loved it all and can't wait to come back to st. pete's beach just go eat there.
