what happened?!!. i went to this restaurant 3 times in my visit to st. pete's beach in july. it was amazing. food was out of this world!! now 9 months later in my most recent visit to st. pete's beach, i could hardly wait to get inchillto taste their yumminess. i gave this restaurant rave reviews and highly recommended it to all my friends. i was embarrassed that i even brought friends my last visit. the food was horrible. service sucked. what happened here??!! i talked to some locals about it and they said the chef, jackie, left and is opening her own restaurant. i will not return tochillafter my last experience.

i understand that when a restaurant is busy, it can be a challenge for the staff to keep up. what i don’t understand is howchillallows their staff to serve cold food or no food at all after over an hour wait. three friends went tochillon a busy saturday and happily waited 30 minutes for a table. but 20 minutes after ordering, we were informed that they were out of one ingredient so my friend needed to order something else. then we were told that they got more so the order was put back in. another 20 minutes goes by with no food and every other table around us is being served. the server said one of our orders went to the wrong table. what happened to the other 2 orders? they were sitting on a counter getting cold so 50 minutes after we sat down, 2 of us got cold food and the 3rd order was not even the right food. no manager on duty (what?) but someone came over and promised us 3 more orders of fresh hot food. guess what. no food. more tables get served all around us. after an hour and 10 minutes we left. i gave them 2 stars since they waived the price of a glass of wine my friend drank. would have given them 3 stars if they gave us a reason to come back, such as a gift certificate that would cover 3 lunches. no such luck. we will never give them our business again. there are so many other restaurants in the area that care about actually feeding their customers.

love the new location! the new location on corey ave giveschillenough room to expand its bar and offer better seating (including some outdoor). the atmosphere is good for a casual breakfast with friends, a party with your co-workers (they now have a separate room for group occasions), or a romantic dinner with your sweetie. the staff are always friendly, though as the name says...they are chill...so don't expect fast service. they apparently believe if you want something done right, you better take the time to do it right.

the food here is delicious. i have been for both breakfast and dinner. the breakfast menu has plenty of dishes that are heart attack worthy, but truly worth it! our group had the biscuits and gravy, a western omelet, and the french toast. all were very tasty! the screwdrivers were mixed correctly and the alcoholic coffee drinks were exceptional.
for the dinner menu its tapas! the sea bass is one of their specialties and it is to die for. we also tried several other dishes, one with chicken, another with figs....all were wonderful! the portions are enough to give everyone at a table of four a reasonable taste.

overall, for the quality of food the price is good. my score would have been higher if the service had been a little less chill.

amazing. one of the best meals i have had. food has always been an exciting part of coming to st. pete, and after 20 years i i figured i had found the best places. stumbling uponchillmade me reevaluate. every small dish and drink was as great as the last, and the balsamic glaze was to die for.

yum, yum, yum. our definite favorite in the area. everything is terrific and i cannot thing of one thing to criticize about chill. we have enjoyed wonderful food and service 100% of the time. the menu is packed with excellent choices. it is always difficult to choose what to ask for! the chef is creative, talented and accommodating. the staff is courteous and efficient, even when it is insanely busy.chillserves breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week and at the scrumptious sunday brunch there is live entertainment. a complete restaurant with a full bar and any kind of coffee that you would like fashioned by a barista/bartender who will make you a delicious beverage of your choice. in addition to all of that, the restaurant is squeaky clean, the atmosphere inviting and comfortable and there is plenty of parking. the lovely owner is nearly always on site (talk about hard working) overseeing the operation of her eatery. believe me, i am extremely fussy about where i dine. i wish we lived here year round so that could be spoiled silly all of the time. do yourselves a favor and go to chill!

best place in st. pete. we've been coming to this area for the past 15 years and have eaten at most of the local restaurants.chillis my new favorite place in st. pete beach. on our last trip down for a week, i think we stopped in at least four times. my parents live there and go frequently too. the atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious. the lighting, décor, tables are inviting, comfortable with good happy background music. the food is amazing. fresh ingredients, not your normal fare with a fresh, unique twist on most of their dishes. we've tried a variety of dishes: omelets, salads, sandwiches, soups. omelets are big and fluffy with the use of fresh ingredients making for wonderful flavor profiles. portions are very generous/ filling. my husband had the clam chowder and said it was the best he ever had (even over our visit to maine!). he is still talking about that soup! the service is outstanding. we love all the servers and staff, but our favorite is gilbert. he is prompt, efficient, super friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, accommodating, and has the best, most positive attitude that is absolutely contagious. we appreciate this place and all the staff that make it the great place that it is. highly recommend chill.

best fish taco's on the beach. i am a local and i like a good fish taco. i ordered the fish taco at steam andchillrestaurant and it is the best on the beach hands down!!

stopped for coffee, stayed for brunch. we stopped by on labor day weekend for just a cup of coffee and after a great conversation with the owner, we stayed for a fabulous lunch. the pina colada waffles and curry,apple chicken salad were fantastic. no worries, we did end up getting our coffee. we had the dirty iced mocha and the white russian, both were excellent. if you are in the st. pete beach, definitely visitchillat steam!

fabulous fun and great fiid. we are st. pete beach locals and just recently visitedchillfor the first time. we were out for a stroll, and since it was a monday, many other places were closed. this was just a snack for mid afternoon. we sat outside for the nice breeze. i had caribbean chicken salad.....to die for if one dies for a salad! ample serving, just the right seasoning and the pineapple that was perfect. hubby has health issues, and his smoothie was delicious. so good we returned 2 days later. this is our new bfr....great people and fabulous food! btw, french onion soup was wonderful.

totally fabulous dinner experience!. had totally awesome dinner atchilllast night! the place is so "one of a kind"...it has it all...the friendliest place ever...the food is just plain outstanding....every delicious tapa that our perfectly wonderful server lara brought was better than the last.....my husband and i lingered and ate and listened to awesome live music......really this is our favorite place.....we live and hour away and it is absolutely worth the drive.....best food, best service, warm cost atmosphere.......what in the world are those negative reviewers talking about!!!!! don't hesitate...just go...you will love it!!! ruthie the owner will welcome you!!!

wonderful! every time i am in the area i make it a point to have dinner at chill. the food is always incredible, and last night was no exception. i admit, reading previous reviews made me somewhat nervous since i hadn't been in a few months, but i can assure you that any & all kinks are completely worked out. our chefs were competent, quick, & fun to watch, and our waitress, lara, was wonderful. she was friendly, attentive, & allowed us to eat at our own pace without rush or pressure, which is exactly what you want in a tapas restaurant. the menu features a sweet baked brie or a savory brie. we opted for the savory one & fell in love! it's amazing served w/bread & crostini's. i highly recommend it & it's the perfect tapas start to warm up those taste buds. we're going back to try the sweet brie next! we ordered the beef & shrooms next, and it too, did not disappoint! the beef was cooked perfectly and the mushrooms were simply fabulous. we opted for dessert next & tried the "red", a red velvet pudding cake with caramel & vanilla ice cream. it was warm, sweet, and not too heavy. perfect way to end our tapas night. oh, & i can't forget to mention the sangria! we had the traditional house sangria. perfectly sweet, and a great deal if you order a pitcher! overall, i had another incredible experience atchill& wish i could convince ruthie, the incredibly nice and ever-expanding owner, to relocate the entire restaurant to rhode island!!

great food, crappy service.. went tochilland steam on st. pete beach for my husband's birthday. we were the only customers there and they repeatedly gave us crap about being "so early!!" at 4:30 pm.. it was our late lunch/early dinner to celebrate before picking our little one up. they completely wanted nothing to do with us and sat there talking about how much they don't like talking to customers... (right in front of us). the food was really good but the atmosphere was kinda weird and we felt completely unwelcome. kinda disappointed :p

fabulous!. we foundchillwhile visiting st. pete, and we're so pleased that we did! our first meal there was delightful. creative and delicious. the service was excellent. the open kitchen allows mouth-watering aromas to waft over the dining area, and as a result, we wanted one of everything we saw or smelled. even with a pitcher of chai-infused sangria, our bill was really reasonable and we were stuffed! we liked it so much we took some friends (locals) back two nights later. we were even more delighted on our second visit.chillnow has four new converts. i'll go back whenever i'm in town. sit at the one of the chef's tables if you can, and try whatever strikes your fancy. you will love it!

beyond delicious!. my husband and i took a vacation to st. pete's beach and before leaving cincinnati, he researched some places in the area where we could dine- this being one of the places that was highly recommended. we loved it so much the first time that we dined there again before we left for home!
chef jackie is amazing to say the least. she creates dishes that taste as wonderful as they look. i am an extraordinarily picky eater and through jackie's (and the other contributors to the menu) creativity i found myself eating things that i would not normally eat and thoroughly enjoying them- one of these things being the bruschetta which was extremely delicious. if you dine here be sure to save room for dessert- "red" is a great dessert option.
both times that we dined atchillthe atmosphere was fantastic and sitting at the chef's table was a treat and a new experience for my husband and me! the service we received was amazing and our food was prepared quickly but with high quality and attention to detail.

after dining here i think it is safe to say that it will be difficult to enjoy food anywhere else!chillhas certainly raised the bar for my expectations while dining out!

it is safe to say that when we return to the st. pete's area we will plan at least one trip to chill.
