you know how to take a reservation but do you know how to hold a reservation??? made a reservation for two dinner at 7pm and had to callbacksince we would not make it and come to find out they never took the reservation. guess this was confirmation that we made the right choice by canceling our non existent reservation!!!

i understand that when a restaurant is busy, it can be a challenge for the staff to keep up. what i don’t understand is how chill allows their staff to serve cold food or no food at all after over an hour wait. three friends went to chill on a busy saturday and happily waited 30 minutes for a table. but 20 minutes after ordering, we were informed that they were out of one ingredient so my friend needed to order something else. then we were told that they got more so the order was putbackin. another 20 minutes goes by with no food and every other table around us is being served. the server said one of our orders went to the wrong table. what happened to the other 2 orders? they were sitting on a counter getting cold so 50 minutes after we sat down, 2 of us got cold food and the 3rd order was not even the right food. no manager on duty (what?) but someone came over and promised us 3 more orders of fresh hot food. guess what. no food. more tables get served all around us. after an hour and 10 minutes we left. i gave them 2 stars since they waived the price of a glass of wine my friend drank. would have given them 3 stars if they gave us a reason to come back, such as a gift certificate that would cover 3 lunches. no such luck. we will never give them our business again. there are so many other restaurants in the area that care about actually feeding their customers.

disappointing. i am disappointed to share such a bad experience as we have been to steam multiple times and had great experiences and we were waited on by the owner and her family who are wonderful and we wanted to check out chill. i'm not able to comment on the quality of the food though the menu had a great variety. we never had the opportunity to order as we were not greeted by a server even though we had been seated for over 10 minutes. during this 10-12 minute wait we observed the server shooting the breeze (nothing related to the tables order) with the booth directly behind ours. he never communicated that he would be right with us or even acknowledged our presence. after waiting roughly 12 minutes to be acknowledged i went up to the hostess stand to ask if we could get some service and though she saw me standing at the stand she continued chatting with another table for over 3 minutes. when i arrivedbackto the table my companions were amazed that in that amount of time no staff attempted to communicate or help me. needless to say we left, won't gobackand will be sure all of our contacts don't waste their time. three of the four of us have either waited tables or managed restaurants and were shocked at the lack of communication, acknowledgement and service as we know the owner of the establishment would never operate in such a manner but apparently needs to do better screening when hiring to be sure staff meets her standards.

amazing food in a beautiful trendy restaurant. we went there for breakfast and sat at the counter where we watched a chef prepare the food. i was so impressed to watch him handle every order that came in with ease. the waiter was friendly. i ordered an omelet and my husband ordered a brie crepe. wow! so good. the only negative i would say was that the lunch chef that was coming on duty and a horrible attitude. he was crabbing at the manager and at the breakfast chef w/o care to customers who could hear him.
we were invitedbackby the manager for dinner so we went late, after 9 pm. totally different experience. the waiter seemed friendly at first . he made some helpful suggestions and left us alone to make our decision....a long long time. he was caught up conversing with another table. then he camebackto take our order and before submitting it, wentbackto the other table where he continued having a 20 min conversation about a chemical peel he had. the chef saw what was happening and finally flagged the manager over where we resubmitted our order with her. at this time our waiter had moved on to doing his end of night chores. after finishing our brie plate we waited to order dessert but no one camebackto see if we needed anything else. we also observed customers getting up to ask the manager for more drinks because the waiters were nowhere to be found. to sum it up, great food but half the staff were either lazy or apathetic and had rotten attitudes and the other half are left to make up the lack of their co-workers. this place needs a manager to get on it. this would be a great place to shoot the next episode of "restaurant steakout."

amazing food, horrible service. this place was packed out on a sunday morning so we decided to sit at the bar for quicker service because we had somewhere to be at a certain time. took forever to get water, at least 15-20 minutes, even after asking for it a few times. decided to order and pay so we could get out of there quick. they're system is ridiculous! they write down your order but then go enter it in an ipad or iphone. so basically all the servers are on some sort of electronic for 5 minutes. they don't even know how to use the system properly so it takes forever and they definitely cannot multi-task.
a few men told a server a few times that the soap in the restroom was out and nothing was done about it in the hour and a half i was there.
all the servers are just talking negatively and nagging on each other publicly in front of customers. the bus boy or whatever he was, i heard say "i don't want to do this" or continuously roll his eyes when anyone asked for help.
after waiting about 45 minutes for our food, it was sooooooo delicious. the rest of the menu looks amazing as well. i want to gobackso bad but being in the service industry and always providing absolutely the best customer service, i don't know if i can mentally handle it.

wonderful! every time i am in the area i make it a point to have dinner at chill. the food is always incredible, and last night was no exception. i admit, reading previous reviews made me somewhat nervous since i hadn't been in a few months, but i can assure you that any & all kinks are completely worked out. our chefs were competent, quick, & fun to watch, and our waitress, lara, was wonderful. she was friendly, attentive, & allowed us to eat at our own pace without rush or pressure, which is exactly what you want in a tapas restaurant. the menu features a sweet baked brie or a savory brie. we opted for the savory one & fell in love! it's amazing served w/bread & crostini's. i highly recommend it & it's the perfect tapas start to warm up those taste buds. we're goingbackto try the sweet brie next! we ordered the beef & shrooms next, and it too, did not disappoint! the beef was cooked perfectly and the mushrooms were simply fabulous. we opted for dessert next & tried the "red", a red velvet pudding cake with caramel & vanilla ice cream. it was warm, sweet, and not too heavy. perfect way to end our tapas night. oh, & i can't forget to mention the sangria! we had the traditional house sangria. perfectly sweet, and a great deal if you order a pitcher! overall, i had another incredible experience at chill & wish i could convince ruthie, the incredibly nice and ever-expanding owner, to relocate the entire restaurant to rhode island!!

i fear the earth may rip itself from its axis and go hurtling toward the sun at any moment.  edgy, contemporary mediterranean-inspired cuisine has arrived (and appears to be thriving) in the barren, culinary wasteland that is the food-fearing tourist mecca of st. pete beach...where crabby bill's (and other "seafood shacks" of its ilk) have reigned supreme since god was a child.  hopefully, despite evidence to the contrary, the apocalypse is not nigh, because i need to getbackto chill...like, yesterday. this sleek, urbanesque little tapas bar shares a building with steam espresso bar (same owners) which specializes in coffee, breakfast, sandwiches and baked goods.  cute idea!  there is an actual tapas "bar" where diners may sit and watch their creations being prepared to order, which would've been our first choice had it not been already slammed at 6:00 pm on a saturday night...so we slid into a comfy window booth.  our server, carl, was clearly a seasoned professional who was highly

fabulous!. we found chill while visiting st. pete, and we're so pleased that we did! our first meal there was delightful. creative and delicious. the service was excellent. the open kitchen allows mouth-watering aromas to waft over the dining area, and as a result, we wanted one of everything we saw or smelled. even with a pitcher of chai-infused sangria, our bill was really reasonable and we were stuffed! we liked it so much we took some friends (locals)backtwo nights later. we were even more delighted on our second visit. chill now has four new converts. i'll gobackwhenever i'm in town. sit at the one of the chef's tables if you can, and try whatever strikes your fancy. you will love it!

delightful. this is a place where you will enter the dining experience. be prepared to savor your food and the warmth of the kitchen. the food is created with love and magic and you can taste it. you will truely experience the culinary mastery from the secrets only grandmas' grandma knew from days of old. everything is made from the freshest ingredients and made to order. the only dissapointment will be that you won't be able to try everything on the menu the first sitting.so, you will desire to comebackin the attempt to try everything. give yourself plenty of time to eat. you do not want to be rushed. the decor is impeccable. the wait staff is attentive and happy.there is live music that will enjoy and you can dine by. the prices are very reasonable. this is the place to come for a meal that will wake up and satisfy all of your tastebuds.

where to start? my experience with chill began in august '11. i had just relocated on a temporary basis from tampa which recently came to an end after 6 months and now i find myselfbackin tampa 45 minutes away for the majority of my time right now and i must say, chill will be worth the ridebackany time i can. reason? the quality, the people, the free internet, the comfortable " anti-breakfast shop atmosphere", and the fact that i can conduct business there for hours on end, or homework with the kids, and feel entirely comfortable the whole way through. such a quiet gem that has perfected the blend of breakfast, lunch, and tapas dinner with incredibly quality ingredients and a welcoming approach that has kept on bringing me back. don't hit the eggs n bacon place or the chain dinner venue. try chill ... morning or night... you will be right at home. trust me.

hits every tastebud on the way down. great dining experience. ruthie the owner, jackie and all the chefs and our server gabriella made this dining experience truly wonderful. ruthie is warm and engaging and the food truly does hit every taste bud on the way down. tapas are on the larger side for a tapas so don't be afraid to start with one and share and move your way around the menu. after each tapas we were afraid to order another because we didn't want to be disappointed but we never were. our favourites - chilean sea bass, hog fish, watermelon salad, crab cake, seafood crepe and seafood alfredo. loved it all and can't wait to comebackto st. pete's beach just go eat there.

extremly pleased!. we visited this place twice, once for coffee in the am and dinner tapas style in the evening while making a short trip to the area visiting a local college for our daughter. this was our first time with the tapas style, the waiter was very helpful and friendly. the owner talked to us quite a while and we found her to be very down to earth and funny. she did not seem the slightest bit "snooty" to us as was mentioned in a previous review. the food was fantastic. hubby says it was the best food he has ever had. we are hoping our daughter chooses this college so we can comebackto chill (and steam)
