calories restaurant

time has passed. i agreed to try calories as urbanspoon rated calories as vegan friendly. when i arrived i was told they used to always have a vegan item on the menu, but i really should have called first, but i could enjoy a salad and veg broth. great. wlhen the bread arrived i asked for olive oil, but was informed the bread wasn't vegan. when it came time for dessert our server started off by looking at me and saying, "we have no vegan desserts." my husband left the table just before our main course arrived and one of the staff people took it away to keep it warm. unfortunately, when he returned no one brought it back to him for what seemed like a long time. terrible service, overpriced food, and not vegan friendly.

never again!!!. extremely disappointed and possibly put off for good! i'm usually a big fan of calories. it has great food and great deserts, so we thought it would be great place to hold my bridal shower. we were sadly mistaken. my maid of honor called months in advance to schedule the party and to confirm that they would, in fact, be open on a sunday over a long weekend. they took the booking and guaranteed that they would be open that weekend. two weeks...two weeks before my shower, they called to say that they had just decided to close for that weekend and that we couldn't have our shower there unless we wanted to change the date of the shower!!! i was really unimpressed not only that they would ask us to consider changing the date of the shower to accomodate them, but also that they would cancel 2 weeks before our reservation date and expect that we would find another establishment that would take a group of 20 people for a shower with such short notice. used to be an avid patron, but after this experience i will probably never consider calories for anything again.

love their mokas and desserts!!. the times ive eaten dinner there have been good!! but my favourite part about calories are their calorific desserts and hot drinks!

great place for breakfast. my husband and i went there for breakfast. i had the eggs benedict. nice atmosphere and the place was full. although we didn't make a reservation, the staff found us a table. loved the eggs benny. will be back! :)

terrible service...and so-so food.. i want to like calories i really do. i have only ever been able to have one meal there, which was their after nine menu. i had the grilled cheese. my friend from southern ontario had some fries. it was alright, my cocktail was better.

anytime i have tried to return since i have been rudely turned away. once was with a relative at about 8pm just wanting to grab a coffee and cheese cake. the waitress said that she would seat us. we were left standing there for 20 minutes and she said "sorry, we have a booking of 16." like really? thanks for that. you really just forgot you had that many people coming in. in that time we were standing there waiting for a table we could have gone somewhere else.

the other time, my mother in law and i went at about 2pm on a tuesday. the hostess looked us over and said that every single table was booked. the place was completely empty. my mother in law trying to be the sly dog she can be mentioned she is from b.c and said that they were one of her favourite places to eat in saskatoon. hostess didn't budge. as we left we over heard her saying to a staff member that we didn't look like we could "afford them." excuse me?

not that we were dressed to the nines as we were out walking but never, ever judge a book by its cover. but this is a huge problem i find among restaurants in saskatoon.

i am just really disappointed with the attitude of the staff at this restaurant. i don't know if i can just judge them off of one sandwich. i wish i had more meals from them under my belt to compare, but really it was ok at best. and for the prices they charge, i could of made a better one for much cheaper at home.

some guy. i've been here for supper, dessert, and lunch, and the overall experience i've had has been a positive one. food is pricy, but decently flavoured and portioned. ambiance is nice, dessert is usually good (had one really bad experience, though). i also had one of my top 5 best dining experiences in saskatoon here.

great sandwiches (bring a friend), desserts wow, coming back for dinner

pricey. i visited calories for supper with friends over christmas. the food was pretty good (red pepper mousse stuffed chicken breast, roasted baby potatoes, can't recall the vegetable), but the prices left a gaping hole in my wallet.

i guess you're paying for the atmosphere, because the food wasn't worth $27 for a small chicken breast and a few roasted baby potatoes. there is much better value elsewhere.

cheesecake. this place is not cheap, but if you want to treat yourself the cheesecake is awesome!!

cheesecake is good. i only go here for dessert and have been disappointed with a few of the cakes, but you cant go wrong with any of their cheesecakes. most recently i had the oreo cheesecake and it was fantastic.

good lunch and great deserts ( this is where my love affair with creme brule began) a bit over priced tho.

good dessert, not bad food.. dessert is a must have at this cozy little restaurant on broadway avenue. my personal favorite is the shmoo cake with extra sauce.

food was mediocre, with small portions and a expensive price. my favorite dish was the mussels with pomme frites.

service was decent, with a hint of attitude.

i give calories restaurant a overall 7/10.

diner. we have been to calories a few times over the years and the one thing that has not changed is the high prices and fairly average food, but today i actually chose to comment because the service was beyond unacceptable. i have no desire to enter any restaurant that acts as if they are doing me a favour by allowing me to enter their doors. when i part with my hard earned dollars the least i expect is my water refilled and a few manners. perhaps someone emptying the overfilled and smelly waste paper basket in the washroom too. sorry, if it wasn't my top pick for dining before today, it will never be a pick again. rudeness is never acceptable within the service industry, and most especially when you have patiently waited to be seated for over 20 minutes.

pretty awsome! loved my fromage plate beyond all standards, organic salad was equally tasty, main courses were ok and dessert was also ok. really enjoyed the fresh real taste thus place provides. oh and amazing wine. deffinatly a different kind of fine dining but quite a gem for saskatoon! super recommend!

greek portebella perfection. calories is always a great experience because it's unique and not one of those box restaurants that leaves you uninspired and bored. the food is always fresh and served in an appealing manner. my favorite meal was a greek inspired portebella on whole wheat with a lentil salad on the side. i initially thought the side salad was small, but it was the perfect amount of food. this was a high carb lunch that left me beaming with satisfaction and not even desiring anything else.

i look forward to experiencing more of their soups and i hope they are not all cream based. but then again, i can just expect this i suppose and have my lighter soups at home. hmmm.... i think i am craving one of their soups again. *smiles*
