yum. tasty food, friendly service.

it's always so packed though! while i appreciated how friendly the staff were, it still took a while for us to get the attention of the servers. food arrived with awkward timing (my dessert came first before my friends', and it was a fondue, so something that has to be enjoyed asap).

love it! but urbanspoon profile for cacao70 is a little bit misleading... i went on urbanspoon to see reviews and to get more info about this place since me and my friend are looking for some place we haven't tried yet. my friend is vegan and so we decided to go cuz it says here that its "vegan-friendly". when we got there, we couldn't really see anything vegan so we asked the waiter and he didn't find anything but 1 salad and 1 smoothie. i think they have to remove the "vegan-friendly" feature on this page. other than that... i am a chocolate lover so as expected, i love cacao 70!

i arrived at cacao 70 at 11:20 pm and as i walked through the door they told me their kitchen was closed. they claim that they are open until 12, terrible customer service there were 2 people ahead of me and 2 people behind me we all were told to basically beat it.... i liked the place but after that i won't be back..

great place!. the food is fantastic and the presentation is wonderful! most of all, the prices are very good for everything that you get!

the service was very good with very friendly staff. the atmosphere is very nice, especially for being in the village!

perhaps it will be a new regular venue for me :)

yummi. went there yesterday and everything was lovely. we had a salty crepe and the salad (and it's yummi vinaigrette) with the strawberries, the cheesecake and the banana split waffles. the food was delicious and plating beautiful. everything was great and they give you a sample of their hot chocolate. only down side is the staff doesn't speak french.

i will definitely go back !

horrible customer service. visiting montreal for the weekend and thought last minute we'd indulge in a nice dessert place. saturday evening they close at 12am and we got there at 11:27 only to be told they were not serving any more for the evening..... we had walked 2.5km to get there. not impressed at all.

dont go for brunch. while the appetizer of fresh fruit and chocolate fondue was really good, the brunch was absolutely disgusting.
i understand the place specializes in chocolate but my bf and i were in the mood for a savory brunch and they have an extensive menu of such options.
i got the bacon nested eggs with potatoes and salad (12$) and he got the 13$ "lazy breakfast". the potatoes on both our plates were mccain frozen "spicy" fries i used to eat for a snack after high school. neither plate had anything warm on it except the eggs on mine, and my bf's assortment of meat was a cold piece of ham, a hot dog cut in half (literally) that was half cooked and which was posing as breakfast sausage, some cold bacon. it was also apparent that his eggs had been cooked in the microwave. the salad i was served was drenched in a white, jelly like substance, as you can imagine, not appetizing.
for 15 dollars each, this was by far the worst breakfast we have ever had in downtown montreal.

i went with a friend about a year ago and had a cheddar and spinach omelette which was really quite delicious and came with oven baked fries. i don't know what has happened since, but the meals we were served this morning were truly atrocious.
if chocolate based deserts is all they can pull off, they should really** take away the rest of the options from their menu!

charming. went for late brunch (1pm on saturday) with my friend, and even though the place was packed service was friendly and fast, we got seated within 5 minutes, and our orders were taken within 10. getting our food took a bit longer but we were kept busy with our really good (!) americanos and tester platters of fresh fruit and chocolate fondue. both of us got the mushroom omelette brunch plate which came with country style whole grain toast, roast potatoes and fruit. my only negative comment was that the onions were sliced too big in my omelette and the potatoes weren;t warm enough but despite these two things everything on my plate was truly delicious. the portions are pretty big and filling, the espresso is good and the ambiance lovely. neither too big or too small, the place is both cozy and busy enough to not worry about the freshness of the ingredients. the service was really polite and i was very pleased when they asked us if we wanted a second coffee after we had finished our breakfast instead of politely trying to chase us from our table even thought there was a lineup at the door. very curteous and the brunch and americano were well worth the 15$. would definitely go again!

hi all i would like to wr.... hi all

i would like to write a review about this place and hope it gets out there. last friday my friends and i went to cacao 70 and the service was beyond bad. we were 6 people and ended up being 8 at the end so we asked for a extra chair and they wouldn't give it to us. we were very polite and the whole night this waitress with short black hair and petite kept being mean to us and never made sure we were ok. long story short, i think customer service is very important and they weren't accomadating. the worse part, we wanted to complain to the manager but he was as young and didn't say a word to her.

anyways i prefer the other chocolate place juliette et chocolate. i will never return to this place and i don't suggest it to anybody.

after checking out some live music, we were looking for a late night dessert spot. i've never been to cacao 70 even though it's blown up recently and expanded all over canada (vancouver and edmonton). this branch is located beside mon ami.

we dropped in on a friday (around 10:30pm) to find it reasonably busy. love how late it's open till. the perfect place to cap off your night or to bring a date. the exposed brick and chic decor fits the ambiance perfectly.

there's a food menu but really, you should be focusing all your attention on the desserts. there's an abundance of options (mostly chocolate oriented) including cakes, fondue, drinks, crepes, ice cream, sweet pizzas and dessert platters. the platters are meant to be shared ($12.50 to $31.95)!

- chocolate envy ($15.50) - quarter of a 12" pizza with chocolate marshmallow, chocolate brownie bites, chocolate wafer, whipped cream and chocolate fondue. my favourite was the pizza. cut a piece, add some ice cream and dip into the fondue. yum!

will need to come back to try their dipped soft serve ice cream. 3.5 stars.

skip the savoury breakfast options. good dessert, cute place. but really mediocre savoury breakfasts. stick to the sweet stuff! their hot chocolates are next-level.

the menu at cacao 70 is diverse, ranging from savory, including sandwiches and salads, to sweet, including chocolate fondue, waffles, crêpes and their signature  triple chocolate pizza , consisting of melted dark, milk, and white chocolate on pizza dough served with strawberries and bananas on the side. there’s warm chocolate sauce for an extra kick.   the d ough was soft and chewy, in addition to the rich chocolate topping. i had two slices and  when it was time for the third slice, i couldn’t take any more. but luckily, i had 3 awesome buddies to give me a helping hand. that’s what friends are for, right? we were craving for waffles that night, and so

if you live in montreal or if you come visit my lovely city, you have to stop by this marvellous and delicious chocolate bar-restaurant. it is a-m-a-z-i-n-g. have you heard of juliette & chocolat? it is a similar type of restaurant but with so much more choices! breakfast, brunch, dessert, shakes, fondue, smores, literally everything you will ever dream of will be in this place! and the portions are humongous. you can also share various type of plates with your friends and lovers ;) . the entrance is on sainte-catherine street in the downtown area. the decor is beautiful and very comfy. the walls have wood patterns, there are huge windows to let the natural daylight come in, part of the kitchen is right in the middle so you can spy with your little eye what they are doing and you have a chocolate bar too! i’ll link some pictures i took on various occasions to show you what it

cacao 70 has been one of my favorite restaurants. i love the interior decors and the chocolate! cacao 70 is the chocolate expert and has been a splendid job. i would recommend the pizza and the waffles (see pics) if you have sweet tooth. if not, they have other meals that make you drool too! what i like about the store other than the decors and food is that the unique food decorations. i could just stare at the food all day. they are just too pretty to eat! everything i eat, i felt like a criminal for ruining such beautiful arts.   the choc-nut waffle ($13.50) the waffles are very smooth and soft. the vanilla ice cream is a perfect addition. i never thought one can eat waffle with ice cream. again, cacao 70 introduced me to a new discovery. the strawberries are sweet and the bananas are dipped in caramel sauce. what i love is to dip the strawberries in the dark chocolate sauce. i absolutely love how the chocolate slowly slides around the strawberries surface a
