yummi. went there yesterday and everything was lovely. we had a salty crepe and the salad (and it's yummi vinaigrette) with the strawberries, the cheesecake and the banana split waffles. the food was delicious and plating beautiful. everything was great and they give you a sample of theirhotchocolate. only down side is the staff doesn't speak french.

i will definitely go back !

dont go for brunch. while the appetizer of fresh fruit and chocolate fondue was really good, the brunch was absolutely disgusting.
i understand the place specializes in chocolate but my bf and i were in the mood for a savory brunch and they have an extensive menu of such options.
i got the bacon nested eggs with potatoes and salad (12$) and he got the 13$ "lazy breakfast". the potatoes on both our plates were mccain frozen "spicy" fries i used to eat for a snack after high school. neither plate had anything warm on it except the eggs on mine, and my bf's assortment of meat was a cold piece of ham, ahotdog cut in half (literally) that was half cooked and which was posing as breakfast sausage, some cold bacon. it was also apparent that his eggs had been cooked in the microwave. the salad i was served was drenched in a white, jelly like substance, as you can imagine, not appetizing.
for 15 dollars each, this was by far the worst breakfast we have ever had in downtown montreal.

i went with a friend about a year ago and had a cheddar and spinach omelette which was really quite delicious and came with oven baked fries. i don't know what has happened since, but the meals we were served this morning were truly atrocious.
if chocolate based deserts is all they can pull off, they should really** take away the rest of the options from their menu!

charming. went for late brunch (1pm on saturday) with my friend, and even though the place was packed service was friendly and fast, we got seated within 5 minutes, and our orders were taken within 10. getting our food took a bit longer but we were kept busy with our really good (!) americanos and tester platters of fresh fruit and chocolate fondue. both of us got the mushroom omelette brunch plate which came with country style whole grain toast, roast potatoes and fruit. my only negative comment was that the onions were sliced too big in my omelette and the potatoes weren;t warm enough but despite these two things everything on my plate was truly delicious. the portions are pretty big and filling, the espresso is good and the ambiance lovely. neither too big or too small, the place is both cozy and busy enough to not worry about the freshness of the ingredients. the service was really polite and i was very pleased when they asked us if we wanted a second coffee after we had finished our breakfast instead of politely trying to chase us from our table even thought there was a lineup at the door. very curteous and the brunch and americano were well worth the 15$. would definitely go again!

skip the savoury breakfast options. good dessert, cute place. but really mediocre savoury breakfasts. stick to the sweet stuff! theirhotchocolates are next-level.

cacao 70 has some of the richest and creamiesthotchocolate and chocolate goodies around. stopped in this week for a quick cup of something  warm and was amazed at the quality of theirhotchocolate. could not resist having their chocolate fruit fondue as well . great pit stop for students around concordia university. highly recommend it . prices are steep, $ 4.99 for a cup ofhotchocolate, but sure worth it. best quality around.

last night i tried the black sesamehotchocolate and it was delicious.hotchocolate with a savoury twist!
they have an incredible variety of desserts and drinks to choose from, and the service has been good every time i've gone.

sadly disappointing. i can't speak to its food menu, but i was not satisfied with my order. i really wanted to give cacao 70 a positive review, but the beverages didn't come anywhere close to delivering based on its descriptions. i was craving a sweet, chocolatey treat after dinner and figured i'd grab a cinnamon and orange infusedhotchocolate as per the menu. i was advised that they had updated their menu and no longer offered the "giuseppe". i had my heart set on this 😢🙁 - cinnamon, orange, dark chocolate, a perfect combination in my mind! she suggested i try the spicyhotchocolate, "chumpurrado" most likely an attempt to rush and turn over the line as quickly as possible. i can confirm that there was no spice, not even a hint of it. i could taste cinnamon in the thick chocolate malt i was presented with, but it was not worth the $10 or so dollars i spent on it.

got a sweet tooth like me ? then hop to cacao 70 for some delicious desserts. from french crepes to fondue they have plenty choices to satisfy your sugar craving. got myself some ricotta filled crepe with strawberry sauce and ahotchocolate which was veryyy tasty. definitely recommend at least once.

absolutely loved every single sweet dish: strawberry cheesecake crepe, choco-nut waffle and the volcano brownie. huge servings of delicious chocolate/ cheese goodness - would definitely return for more. wasn't a big fan of the savoury egg crepe which tasted like an asian paratha to us 😅 darkhotchocolate was too bitter for us too but that was on us for making the wrong choice.

cacao 70 is my go-to place for a delicious sunday brunch or a late night craving. the relaxed atmosphere is the perfect spot for a casual date or a meetup with friends. the food is always on point and so is the service! my personal favorite is the "brunch du paresseux" (lazy breakfast) consisting of eggs, bacon, sausages, potatoes and beans served in ahotpan - you'll for sure feel lazy after eating it! overall, i totally recommend this restaurant.

bad service, good chocolate. we waited 20 minutes for a table since we had a party of 3 and the tables where saved for parties of 2 or 4 (these tables never filled up the entire time we where there!). we complained about this, but in this case the possibility of making more money was what they wanted over good service. we had to return 2hotchocolates since they where cold. not a good experience and quite pricey.

nope. i stopped by on a chilly weekend afternoon to enjoy ahotchocolate. the place was packed with downtowners in their early 20s, pretty much like the staff. i ordered a spicy cacao 70 which was described as "paprika, curry, cardamom and espelette". as soon as i tasted it i realized there was a mistake. the 10$ cup ofhotchocolate tasted like a regular 6$hotchocolate. no spices detected. the waitress was nowhere to be seen so i drank half of it anyway. i went to the counter to pay. i told my waitress that i had not received the beverage that i ordered. either she thought i had no knowledge of what spices taste like, or she thought i was cheap,but in any case she was arrogant and didn't believe me. she asked me if i drank it, i said i finished half of it since she wasn't around, so i expected her to charge me a regularhotchocolate. to my amazement, she actually went to my table, brought over my half-empty cup, and took a spoonful to taste!!! she hesitated and said yep, i think they put too much base but we can still taste a bit of spice. i couldn't believe this!!!! since this person was unable to manage the situation properly i paid 10$ plus taxes and tip and told myself this place would never see me again.

great place for chocolate lovers!. me and my girlfriend went there today. it was amazing! i had the classic americanhotchocolate, she had the mexicanhotchocolate and we shared the milk chocolate fondue platter. the platter came with fruit, brownies, waffle and of course the milk chocolate fondue to dip everything in. it was all delicious!! the thing i was most impressed with is that their milk chocolate actually tasted like milk chocolate. i hate dark chocolate or any bitter chocolate. this place had milk chocolate that actually tasted sweet and delicious! the american classichotchocolate came with two big homemade marshmallows. it was great. i definitly recommend this place for chocolate lovers!

this place is simply amazing!!!. i finally checked out cacao70 the other night and it was so delicious! if you like chocolate, you will absolutely love this place! my friends and i were initially surprised to have to stand in line to get seated, but we soon realized why....this place has simply amazing food for very affordable prices, and every table had beautiful decadent plates in front of them. the line actually moved very quickly and our waiter walked us through their extensive menu, which was great because he really knew what he was talking about and helped us choose absolutely amazing food. cook your ownhotmelty s'mores? check. dip delicious freshly made waffles and fruit into melted white, milk, and dark chocolate? double check! try differenthotchocolates from around the world? yum i died and went to chocolate heaven! not only was the food above and beyond delicious, but there was awesome music playing the whole time, and our waiter made sure we were happy throughout. all in all, i am now one of those cacao70 addicts!!

so much chocolate. quiet big portions, and many options to chose from. sometimes long lines. deserts taste very good but one time a chicken crepe i ordered was sweet as well. stick with deserts and you'll be happy. they don't like people to sit when they're done if they're not ordering. despite all, very good fondue, very goodhotchocolates.
