great bbq. stopped by as was closest liked bbq place of urbanspoon. glad we dd, cornbread , roasted corn, pulled pork sandwich , half firebird chicken all excellent, as was theservice.. only downer was the peach cobbler

food was phenomenal.serviceleft something to be desired. waited over an hour after being seated before food arrived. watched all the tables around us being served but us.

this is a great (but noisy) spot for dinner and it was in a convenient location – just a short walk from our hotel in north phoenix. my husband and i ordered a 3 meat combination bbq platter (smoked beef brisket, st louis ribs and pulled pork) to share. it came with cornbread and a couple of sides (broccolini and coleslaw). the cornbread and sides were tasty and the meat was cooked to perfection. the portion was so generous that we couldn't finish it. theservicewas excellent and the prices were reasonable. the free fresh mini doughnuts that came with our bill at the end of the meal were frighteningly delicious!

i thought the brisket was fantastic! enjoyed a nice lunch with dad and really enjoyed the restaurant,serviceand food! the mini donuts on the way out was a nice touch!

it started with the cornbread while we waited for our food. tasty, warm, and fresh cornbread with some added butter on top! one of the best i've ever tasted!
i ordered the full rack of baby back ribs with a side of veggies and mac and cheese. first the veggies were fresh! for some weird reason i though maybe they would have been frozen but i'm glad they weren't. the ribs came straight off the bone. the bbq sauce was sooo perfect just melted on the meat.
now, the mac and cheese...best i've ever had in my life!! trust me when i say next time i go, my two sides will both be mac and cheese! it was so creamy, well cooked l, great flavors and a nice little crunch on top.
i also had a glass of their house beer, bobbyq amber ale, which they brew in tucson. i usually do lighter, like a wheat beer but this was great - good after taste as well.
theservicefrom our waiter was great! he gave us a sample of their beer to try and made sure we were good as first timers. during our meal the manager came over and asked if we were good and if our food tastes alright. he heard we were new in town and asked how we found out about the place. told him zomato!

we love barbecue and bobby-q is one of the best we've had. flavorful, fall off the bone tender and portions enough to fill even the hungriest appetite or take home for tomorrow. must order: the hot spinach dip appetizer (it's amazing). they have the best mac & cheese, and shoestring potatoes. our favorite meats are the short ribs and brisket. although my guess is that everything on the menu is as good as those we've tried personally. theserviceis fast and friendly but you will definitely want to make a reservation as many people know how good the food is here and there can be quite a wait without one.

mostly very good!!!!!. all the meat we tried was fall apart tender and laced with sweetness but not too much. most people out there will love the brisket as my husband did. the brisket was falling apart tender and very succulent. for me it was too succulent with too much fat but that is exactly how my husband likes it. i thought the coleslaw was good i liked how fresh and crispy it was and not dippy. however i didn't like the macaroni and cheese because the noodles were too soft and the cheese tasted like velveta to me but i know many people like it that way. they smoke the meats with mesquite wood. everything is made in house and they give you complimentary johnny cakes with soft butter to start with and fresh made thank "q" cinnamon sugar donuts for dessert. the decor is very old fashioned but interesting. this is a large place and does have an outside patio.servicewas fast and efficient.

dang good eatin. shipwreck drink, ribs, brisket, rotisserie chicken and a baked potato - all super good. awsomeservicemakes it even better. oh and i get mini donuts as a parting gift - what? i love this place!! only in town a few days and already planning on coming back.

normally you can smell the bbq when you get out of your car. not here. came here for a friends birthday dinner. my husbands plate of food was cold & terrible tasting. i thought since everything was crazy expensive it would at least be good. not so! the portion sizes are small. ourservicewas probably the worst restaurantserviceexperience on record! will not ever return. this is a place for people who don't know great tasting, succulent bbq and have under developed palates.

i have never been inspired to write a review - until tonight. just shared the "whole hog" and the southern fried chicken with my family and we all left with huge smiles on our face. we are a family of carnivores and this place did not disappoint. the dining experience was bookended by cornbread and homemade donuts to die for. a definite "must" when in the area. oh yeah - and theservicewas fantastic too!!!!

thought this place was great! not a huge bbq fan but was totally impressed by the food. for an appy, the brisket deep fried in a roll had so much flavor. had the southern fried chicken with gravy, delicious. and not your run of the mill chicken fried steak either. the coleslaw with pecans was very good as a side. mac and cheese side good as well.servicewas outstanding! we will be back!

outstanding. let's put it this way, if you love barbecue, and i mean love barbecue, not just "ehh its okay" no, if you love it, then you need to be here. the food was outstanding, customerservicewhen we walked through the door was top notch. took a little bit longer then what they said it would take at the door, but the wait was worth it. the only thing on the menu i really didn't care for was the brisket, but that just might be personal preference. go check this place out. you will not be disappointed... oh and i live only 4 blocks aways and i can smell it everyday after i step out of my apartment

the place is real nice.servicewas great. although i prefer a bit more smoke flavor in my barbecue this place does a good job. we ordered choice of two ribs and two meats. baby back and beef ribs both very tender with a hint of smoke. we all prefered the brisket so we got both portions brisket. the ranch beans were alright. i'd eat them again but wouldn't stop just for them. the mac n cheese was excellent you better like cheese if you order thar. overall a excellent meal. the plate cost $38.00 but it fed 3 and we had plenty of leftovers. the corn bread was course and fell apart i've had better much better.
