best bbq in phoenix. the mac and cheese is the best i have had in any restuarant

mostly very good!!!!!. all the meat we tried was fall apart tender and laced with sweetness but not too much. most people out there will love the brisket as my husband did. the brisket was falling apart tender and very succulent. for me it was too succulent with too much fat but that is exactly how my husband likes it. i thought the coleslaw was good i liked how fresh and crispy it was and not dippy. however i didn't like the macaroni and cheese because the noodles were too soft and the cheese tasted like velveta to me but i know many people like it that way. they smoke the meats with mesquite wood. everything is made in house and they give you complimentary johnny cakes with soft butter to start with and fresh made thank "q" cinnamon sugar donuts for dessert. the decor is very old fashioned but interesting. this is a large place and does have an outside patio. service was fast and efficient.

melt in your mouth ribs. not sure why it took us so long to learn about this place - recently highly rated nationally in the ny times - but at last we heard and tried, and it was two thumbs way up! the ribs and brisket were the tops of the night - we ordered the sample with two ribs, two meats and 3 sides. the st. louis ribs and baby backs both were perfectly booked and bathed luxuriously in an excellent barbeque sauce - hot for me. very friendly service, and lots of happy people. joe's in gilbert and bobby q in phoenix... two great reasons to live in the valley of the bbq sun. highly recommended!

dang good eatin. shipwreck drink, ribs, brisket, rotisserie chicken and a baked potato - all super good. awsome service makes it even better. oh and i get mini donuts as a parting gift - what? i love this place!! only in town a few days and already planning on coming back.

normally you can smell the bbq when you get out of your car. not here. came here for a friends birthday dinner. my husbands plate of food was cold & terrible tasting. i thought since everything was crazy expensive it would at least be good. not so! the portion sizes are small. our service was probably the worst restaurant service experience on record! will not ever return. this is a place for people who don't know great tasting, succulent bbq and have under developed palates.

great food/great service. i went to bobby q's because of the reviews and i was looking for a good place to eat to celebrate my birthday. i'm new in town so i had to depend on the diner reviews to make a choice and i wasn't disappointed choosing bobby q's. i ordered the baby back ribs and as other reviewers said they were awesome! i learned from phillip (the waiter) that they cut, age and smoke all of their meats. the flavor of the ribs was tangy-sweet. not to sweet and not to tangy with just the right amount of char. the sides were moderate and typical of a bbq place with the exception that there is an upcharge if you want a salad instead of one of the sides. the food came extra fast and was served piping hot and had plate appeal. their signature cornbread was baked to perfection with a slight crust to the outside and moist on the inside and is served with whipped butter------yum! the staff was knowledgeable and courteous and the manager even paid a visit to the table to see how things were going. i thought the food was priced well. for 2, we spent 40.00 including the 20% tip. they also honored the 10% discount from 'urbanspoon', i just had to mention i saw 'bobby q's' on urbanspoon. i would definitely go back again!

cornbread was really good! i had the brisket, which was good and more than i could eat- roasted corn really good too! nice touch to give bag of homemade donut holes.

ribs...good. mac and cheese...goood. corn bread...goooooood. this is definitely the best bar-b-que i've ever had.

overpriced on their food and drinks, food was served to me cold. also, i consumed my food at the bar, the female bartender shorted my return change, so therefore, i refused to leave a tip. do your bartenders expected to be tipped everytime that they serve a drink to an individual or party at a table. sounds and seem that the waiters and bartenders are dictating to their customers on what that they should be tipped! is this proper restaurant etiquette? i think not and i won't be back!!! bye:-(

i have never been inspired to write a review - until tonight. just shared the "whole hog" and the southern fried chicken with my family and we all left with huge smiles on our face. we are a family of carnivores and this place did not disappoint. the dining experience was bookended by cornbread and homemade donuts to die for. a definite "must" when in the area. oh yeah - and the service was fantastic too!!!!

excellent q!. i was thrown off at the beginning of my meal with the light smoking of my ribs, but grew to enjoy them emmesly. i had a full rack of baby back ribs that were truly great. i also had the sides of corn which was very tasty and coleslaw which was average.

thought this place was great! not a huge bbq fan but was totally impressed by the food. for an appy, the brisket deep fried in a roll had so much flavor. had the southern fried chicken with gravy, delicious. and not your run of the mill chicken fried steak either. the coleslaw with pecans was very good as a side. mac and cheese side good as well. service was outstanding! we will be back!

good service. shrimp app was not done well. brisket was very good but a little spendy. overall enjoyed but not enough to go back.
