big catch sushi

***** i dont know if these have just gotten too popular but after spending $50 we expect to be satisfied but the rolls of double catch combo were pretty tiny. just looking at other photos of the double catch looks like one piece each tuna n salmon missing. we had an extra avocado roll. especially the sliver thin dynamite rolls. the assorted tempura... equally small 8.50 for a a small piece of veggie .. one zuc.. one pepper etc. 3 shrimps...i had to bus my own table and bring dishes back after i tipped them. we were still hungry so we had a bowl of soup from primodal soup and we had fahitas from sabores the next booth over. stick with special rolls and get take out because its not a resturant. ***********pretty and fresh tasting. we tried 3 of the specialty rolls which were nicely put together and super fresh. i love all the detail with scales of the dragon to the flowers made of carrot and daikon. there was no other attention to dining in so not sure what the other reviewer was talking about. would have liked refills on tea and not bussing my table after tipping

each piece of sushi is a masterpiece of flavour & design. flavour combos are well-thought out & are also a refreshing change. and they have the friendliest staff! glad to see that an awesome take out place has transitioned nicely into a full restaurant! (5/5)

hate the soy sauce packets, love everything else.

i am japanese. i know how to make oshizushi, also i was chef. their oshizushi are very very disgusting! sushi rice is really dry and hard. kind like a flied rice. i will never go back there again!

came here three days in a row and will be back for more. buff said. rodeo rider is pretty good. a little more expensive than other sushi places but the quality is good and ingredients are fresh

amazing! it's the best in calgary for rolls and sashimi. the food and service and both top-notch. it's a hidden jem!

so many great reviews on google and decided to try this place out after i saw a 4.8 rating. i typed in best sashimi in calgary and this came up. i enjoyed the miso spicy soup, it's rather tasty. the wild salmon was frozen fish and was very bland. the tuna tataki was under average wig minimal seasoning and tofu didn't have too many taste. great costumer service though! i won't be returning.

i still love this place. i eat here every weekend even though it's pretty far from where i live. i'm pregnant and my doctor said it was ok to eat sushi as long as i avoid the fish with too much mercury.

delicious. just ate the rodeo rider and seaweed salad ($16.49 total) and both were fantastic. perhaps the best i've had on calgary or.... ever?

impeccable service and decent food!. had the tuna sashimi and a few rolls. rolls are always fresh and tasty. the sashimi was pretty fresh too. will definately return!

big catch has by far the best sushi in calgary. their sushi is always super fresh, delicious, and beautiful. their staff are incredibly knowledgeable about japanese food and culture. the service is always super friendly. i wish i could give them more than 5 stars. i would highly recommend big catch!

i had a great experience at big catch sushi. although it's just a stand in the kingsland farmers market, i really felt as though i was dining in an actual restaurant. the staff were super friendly and even brought the sushi to our table. once in a while, they would come to our table and make sure that we were enjoying our meal. on their menu they have an assortment of interesting rolls. it was difficult to decide which ones to try. the roll i enjoyed the most during my visit was the zesty avalanche roll. i enjoyed how fresh the fish and rice tasted. their miso soup is just as delicious. the attention to detail when it comes to plating is impressive. i'm definitely coming back to try the rest of their menu!

big on taste!. my favourite sushi place n i have tried a lot! super friendly staff and great tasting sashimi. i usually don't order rolls, theirs are delicious w interesting combinations. a must try!

good service, great food. we are from bc and found this to be the best place we have been to in calgary! super fresh and decent price for what you get and for being a province away from the nearest ocean!

a delectable selection of sashimi over perfectly seasoned sushi rice. everything was perfect.

i honestly had never seen service so attentive, friendly and generous. these guys do an outstanding job of making your dine-in experience as good as that of a high end restaurant, even though you're just sitting in a food court at the farmer's market. they also offer take away and were constantly having customers come in to pick up orders while my friends and i ate and people watched. each roll was better than the last, delicious fresh fish, good rice to filling ratio, and incredibly artistic and enticing plating. can't wait for my next visit!
