i honestly had never seen service so attentive, friendly and generous. these guys do an outstanding job of making your dine-in experience asgoodas that of a high end restaurant, even though you're just sitting in a food court at the farmer's market. they also offer take away and were constantly having customers come in to pick up orders while my friends and i ate and people watched. each roll was better than the last, delicious fresh fish, goodrice to filling ratio, and incredibly artistic and enticing plating. can't wait for my next visit!

yep - it's expensive here, but you'll know why once you take your sushi home and take a bite.  oh my goodness.  it is out of this worldgoodin a farmer's market stall.  are you kidding me?!  the toro (tuna) sashimi was so good.  the green halo, rodeo rider, and zesty avalanche were reallygoodtoo.  they were nice and small, perfectly bite sized, but packed with flavours.  i spent about $40 - $50 on that takeout and i wasn't super full but felt really satisfied.  i had enough room to go for dessert or bubble tea.  i'd say that was the closest thing to vancouver sushi i can find in alberta!  i loved it!  will be back the next time i chill in calgary :)

i've been here a dozen times and they are still one of the best sushi places i've tried. the staff are super friendly and accommodating. food is fresh and delicious. they have a fairly decent sized menu, considering they mostly do take out.

reallygoodvalue! the owners and staff obviously take pride in their work and it shows in appearance and taste of food.

this place is delicious! i am not at that farmers very often but when i dogoodi definitely make sure to save room for this place. the sushi is tasty and all the ingredients are fresh. it does take a while sometimes to get your food but it's not an issue if you order and walk around. it's helpful that they give those things to carry around that let you know when your food is ready!

big catch has to be the best sushi spot in the south of calgary and they're not even a large restaurant. just a group of friendly guys providing great quality sushi at a reasonable price.

they mainly have an assortment of rolls on their menu and i've been pleased with each one i've ordered. there'sgoodquality fish and seafood in each, interesting sweet and spicy sauces, and my personal favourite, liberal use of garlic chips, wonton bits and crispy onions. the ingredients are innovative and unique and compliment each other well.

if i have to make a recommendation i'll normally get a roll of the meteor rain because the torched salmon and mixed spicy have such a unique flavour to them or i'll get the rodeo rider for the textures and flavours used with the wonton bits and garlic chips.

at lunch, it might take a while to get your meal because it's a popular spot and there's only a few guys making the dishes. so patience is really needed. one great thing? they're often open later than the actual farmer's market so they're fantastic for calling in and getting a platter to go.

avid sushi eater. i have eaten in many many sushi places in the city - the food at big catch is- superb!!! the young chefs are artistic in their presentation of the food, but the taste is even better - i trust the quality of the sushi - and above all this - they exemplify whatgoodmanners are - i have watched them serve especially the elderly with immense respect - something many other restaurants should take note of.

big catch is a little gem located inside the kingsland farmer's market. their booth can be found on the north side of the building nestled between a large variety of booths featuring different cuisines. they have a variety of rolls at agoodprice, which makes me want to try them all. the food was presented in a beautiful manner with no attention spared on the garnish...

always amazing. there are two farmer's markets closer to me but i usually drive the extra distance to kingsland because they have some of the best ready-to-eat vendors. big catch is the best sushi place in town. their fish is always super fresh, perfectly cut, and beautifully presented. the sashimi salad is my favourite and unlike anything i can get elsewhere: the sashimi is a close second. i love that they serve it with some nice shredded diakon and greens. their rolls are inventive and top notch and they make great soup. a tiny quibble is that their wasabi is so mild you need to use more than usual, but they do make some wonderful sculptures with it if you order ahead a larger platter. service is excellent too. can't go wrong here. oh, and they have especiallygoodvegetarian rolls (including the yra).

nothing really special...sorry.. i was going there expecting something fabulous judging by all the reviews. don't get me wrong, the presentation of the sushi is exquisite.the friendliness of the staff ,fantastic, and sogoodto see in calgary for a change. but the sushi rice was warm and i am not sure if it was real japanese short grain rice or just cheap rice.the way to make sushi is with cold or cooler rice.when i bit into the rolls, they fell apart, yet the inside was chewy. not easy to eat at all.the crispy salmon skin roll had hardly any salmon skin inside and was not grilled properly.it is supposed to be crispy, not chewy.the rolls were flavourless. we were disappointed.

excellent!. by far and away the best sushi in calgary. surprisingly, (given the distance from the sea!), there are somegoodplaces to eat sushi in calgary. however, my experience is that even thegoodones are hugely inconsistent from one visit to another and there are some real shockers as well. big catch sushi always tastes incredibly fresh and keeps the same high, consistent standards everytime i go - and i have eaten at this place probably at least 60 times. prices are reasonable as well by calgary standards - not quite vancouver sushi prices, but reasonable considering the fish needs to be flown in.

the guys that run this place are great too - always smiling and taking pride in their product. if only they would open a full sized, dine-in restaurant - they'd clean up the market!

nice catch. heavy on the rolls, short on fingers.goodquality, larger portions, reasonably priced. spicy sauce is a bit of a let down, but not bad. probably best for grab & run for a lunchbox or take home for dinner.

shared the dinner for 3 with a buddy! i must say, it was some of the best sushi i've ever had. what made it sogoodfor me was how fresh the fish and rice was. usually when i go for sushi the rice is a little dry, hence why i soak it in soya sauce. but the rolls here needed no soya as there was plenty of taste to experience!
