***** i dont know if these have just gotten too popular but after spending $50 we expect to be satisfied but therollsof double catch combo were pretty tiny. just looking at other photos of the double catch looks like one piece each tuna n salmon missing. we had an extra avocado roll. especially the sliver thin dynamite rolls. the assorted tempura... equally small 8.50 for a a small piece of veggie .. one zuc.. one pepper etc. 3 shrimps...i had to bus my own table and bring dishes back after i tipped them. we were still hungry so we had a bowl of soup from primodal soup and we had fahitas from sabores the next booth over. stick with specialrollsand get take out because its not a resturant. ***********pretty and fresh tasting. we tried 3 of the specialtyrollswhich were nicely put together and super fresh. i love all the detail with scales of the dragon to the flowers made of carrot and daikon. there was no other attention to dining in so not sure what the other reviewer was talking about. would have liked refills on tea and not bussing my table after tipping

i ordered an assortment ofrollsand starters at the restaurant for take-out. the service was excellent —i appreciated that the server & chef both had warm, welcoming demeanours. they both answered menu questions for me and they were able to easily make minor adjustments to a few items for me. the presentation was perfect and the food was awesome! i particularly loved their gyoza!

the server we had was very nice, although a  bit odd at the end when he forced us to look at their dessert menu even though we've already paid. we ordered two of their oishi premiumrollsand found both disappointing. to be fair, sushi in calgary is shit. for fusion pressed sushi, its not comparable to japonais bistro in edmonton or miku in vancouver. management asked for my feedback, i said it doesn't have much flavor due to the extremely thinly sliced salmon and beef which was overpowered by the sauce. the portions were also much smaller compared to others. their reply? they told me i should have spoken up if the batch of fish they used was off. and then proceeded to tell me to order cheaper sushi for bigger pieces. why ask for my feedback if you're just going to be ignorant about it? not value for your money.

the sushi were super fresh and delicious. although the spicy tuna roll was not spicy at all. and the dynamite roll tasted average, nothing spectacular. but their specialtyrollswere so yummy! and california...omg, so tender and full of flavour! we had dinner for three for 2 adults and 1 kiddo and felt like 1 more roll would be nice to have in this combo.

big catch sushi is definitely the best sushi restaurant that i have found in calgary. we had a platter ofrollsand sashimi. both were the best quality that i have found in town. i can't wait to go back and try some of their other offerings. the staff were among the friendliest and most helpful that i have encountered. all in the quirkiest little market; all part of the entertainment. probably the only thing that would improve this sushi experience would be to have these guys in their own proper restaurant where they can control more of the environment.

delicious sushi place tucked inside the market on mcleod building that offers some of the city's freshest pieces of fish. ran by two brothers, big catch has an intimate feel to their stall, which was reflected quite well in the friendliness of the service, and the care put into the presentation of each dish. the sockeye salmon sashimi was incredibly fresh, and the tuna sashimi felt like it was melting in my mouth. therollswere a great combination of different tastes, and definitely memorable, making this joint a destination for the sushi lovers of yyc!

i needed to check this place out because it has the highest ratings on zomato. i'm giving big catch a 4 mainly because of the price. $11.75 for 9 small pieces is a bit much. the rodeo rider (that was featured in avenue magazine) was hands down one of the bestrollsthey have, but not the best roll i've had in this area. we ended up getting another rodeo rider to go though because we really enjoyed it. service was amazing, staff were extremely friendly and attentive. they have a stamp card for every $10 you spend, you get a stamp. when you collect 15 stamps, you get a free roll, so i guess it kind of makes up for the pricey menu. it's too bad this is at a farmer's market and not a restaurant though, they open wednesdays to sundays and they close at 7pm, i wish the hours were better!

big catch has to be the best sushi spot in the south of calgary and they're not even a large restaurant. just a group of friendly guys providing great quality sushi at a reasonable price.

they mainly have an assortment ofrollson their menu and i've been pleased with each one i've ordered. there's good quality fish and seafood in each, interesting sweet and spicy sauces, and my personal favourite, liberal use of garlic chips, wonton bits and crispy onions. the ingredients are innovative and unique and compliment each other well.

if i have to make a recommendation i'll normally get a roll of the meteor rain because the torched salmon and mixed spicy have such a unique flavour to them or i'll get the rodeo rider for the textures and flavours used with the wonton bits and garlic chips.

at lunch, it might take a while to get your meal because it's a popular spot and there's only a few guys making the dishes. so patience is really needed. one great thing? they're often open later than the actual farmer's market so they're fantastic for calling in and getting a platter to go.

big catch is a little gem located inside the kingsland farmer's market. their booth can be found on the north side of the building nestled between a large variety of booths featuring different cuisines. they have a variety ofrollsat a good price, which makes me want to try them all. the food was presented in a beautiful manner with no attention spared on the garnish...
