big catch has by far the best sushi in calgary. their sushi is always super fresh, delicious, and beautiful. their staff are incredibly knowledgeable about japanesefoodand culture. the service is always super friendly. i wish i could give them more than 5 stars. i would highly recommend big catch!

i honestly had never seen service so attentive, friendly and generous. these guys do an outstanding job of making your dine-in experience as good as that of a high end restaurant, even though you're just sitting in afoodcourt at the farmer's market. they also offer take away and were constantly having customers come in to pick up orders while my friends and i ate and people watched. each roll was better than the last, delicious fresh fish, good rice to filling ratio, and incredibly artistic and enticing plating. can't wait for my next visit!

i ordered an assortment of rolls and starters at the restaurant for take-out. the service was excellent —i appreciated that the server & chef both had warm, welcoming demeanours. they both answered menu questions for me and they were able to easily make minor adjustments to a few items for me. the presentation was perfect and thefoodwas awesome! i particularly loved their gyoza!

came here last night as we wanted to try a new sushi place. the staff are all very friendly and want to make sure you are enjoying yourfoodand drinks. the space has a minimalist design and is very cute. their menu is limited, but they make up for it by having very tasty sushi that is plated incredibly. will definitely be back to try the other menu items.

hands down some of the best japanesefoodin calgary. my friend and i decided to try the veggie roll (6 pieces for $5.75), agedashi tofu ($5.95), deep fried gyoza ($5.75), and the salmon miso soup ($2.50). the staff are incredibly friendly, and ourfoodwas ready very quickly. the presentation of every dish was absolutely beautiful, and between that and how fresh everything tasted you can tell a lot of care goes into preparing everything at big catch. the agedashi tofu was pretty incredible: cottony soft tofu with a barely-crisp exterior, bathed in a mushroom sauce rich with umami. the gyoza were fried to perfection and had a delicious porky filling. the flavour of the miso was delicate and savoury, and the bouncy salmon dumplings were a great addition. the veggie roll was stuffed with a wide variety of vegetables: you got creaminess from the avocado, acidity from the pickled ginger, and crisp freshness from the cucumber and daikon. it's definitely worth the trip to the farmer's market just for stopping by big catch!

two of my favourite things- farmer's market and sushi! though an unusual combination, everything about big catch is out of the ordinary, to the extent that you might even feel like you are at a restaurant rather than a just afoodstand. you must eat here! upon ordering, we were given a buzzer to alert us when it is ready- nice touch as you can take a seat or browse the market. once buzzed, we received a tray with the rolls, and all the utensils needed to enjoy our eats. it was beautifully presented with a lovely carrot and radish flower. since we only had two rolls, which were to our liking, i would want to sample more of the menu before posting a review of the overall dining experience. i will return! updates to follow...

omg this place is amazing! top notch! greatfoodi think better than what you find in a lot of places that are full restaurants. the guys here are so super nice too! this is definitely going to be a place to go to even though i live in the nw.

sushi was super fresh, delicious and reasonably priced and the service was quick and friendly! you can just tell how much care they put into their work by the quality of thefoodand the amount of detail that goes into the plating. definitely one of my favourite spots in calgary for sushi.

wow this little place, basically a stand at afoodmarket has something that many fancy upscale places cannot buy - passion for great food. their sushi is fresh, beautiful, clean and exciting. just visiting calgary, but won't pass through here without stopping at big catch if i could help it! oh, did i mention friendly, efficient and fast. thanks for great food.

the staff were very nice, and thefoodwas great. man oh man, the presentation was absolutely beautiful it's crazy. i expected that type of presentation and taste from a sushi restaurant that costed twice as much. the live music was a great added touch as well.

the place is located in a multicultural market, with many different kind of deliciousfoodsurrounding it. my girlfriend is extremely happy with the long range paging system so that she can browsing and bought some other stuff while waiting for our sushi meal. the pony tail japanese waiter is super nice, excellent service and well guide on how to eat japanese food. we tipped a lot for the great services.foodis awesome, best prawn tempura so far in calgary! sushi are very nice too. green tea tho, only from a tea bag in a once use plastic cup which is below the average level of japanese restaurants. but this place technically is not a restaurant but more like afoodcourt store, but theirfoodand service are way much better than a normalfoodcourt. the price is cheaper than average japanese restaurants, which is also a reason why i rate 5.0. overall, i'm highly recommend people come to this place for takeout or dinner.

really greatfoodwith really great people working there. i took half a star off because the hours are kinda wonky. i know the place is located in afoodcourt, but they do take some time as the place is small and they make everything fresh. they give you a buzzer so you can walk around the farmer's market while waiting for your food. presentation of thefoodis also really lovely, i would definitely go back and recommend to many.

this place is delicious! i am not at that farmers very often but when i do good i definitely make sure to save room for this place. the sushi is tasty and all the ingredients are fresh. it does take a while sometimes to get yourfoodbut it's not an issue if you order and walk around. it's helpful that they give those things to carry around that let you know when yourfoodis ready!
