an out of the way ~ fusion surprise. excellent fare.. this restaurant produces exceptional quality fusion food items. the atmosphere is elegant yet comfortable.
uniquely housed in the industrial area of the s.e., (which i appreciate, no freakish venue costs) - truly a refreshing calgary addition to the "foody scene". romantic dinners or professional luncheons, your guests will be pleasantly surprised.

chef sampler menu was a truly elegant experience. full of amazing flavour profiles. this was a truly elegant experience. full of amazing flavour profiles and unexpected pairings. service was flaw less and the atmosphere was great. however they may want to think about some sound dampening treatment as it was quite noisy when the restaurant filled up. we all had a great evening and will return.

overrated. there was so much hype about alloy that we just had to check it out. i heard it was very elegant and nice inside, but i got a tacky feeling from the decor and design of alloy. it felt like we were in an old funeral home! the food was alright but nothing special. our server was great, very knowledgable, friendly and efficient.
i might go back but i can name at least 5 other restaurants/restolounges in calgary that i would much rather go to! 5/10

outstanding food. this is a very contemporary restaurant. the atmosphere is very contemporary, the food is exstremely creative and delicous. the wine list is fantastic and the service was great. it is very expensive but well worth the money.
the contemporary but lively atmosphere makes it a great place for a date or party, not the best for entertaining clients. there is no real lounge either. i will definatley go back.

awesome experience!. alloy is one of the restaurants in my list to visit again and again. gorgeous atmosphere, attentive and mature service. complimentary snack of hummus / olives / pita was a nice touch to start. we ordered gnocchi and short rib, found them very tasty. overall: successful combination of yummy food and relaxing ambiance.

overall impression - just ok.. pork belly - we had to return the pork belly since it was literally all fat, no meat. you obviously expect a good portion of fat when you order the pork belly, but the ratio on a piece that was about 2.5 inches high was 99% fat, 1% meat - not good.

tuna - we tried the tuna after retuning the pork belly, and it was flavorless.

lobster risotto - this was awesome, and i would highly recommend.

mushroom gnocchi - this was also good, but it's a relatively simple dish.

after being so disappointed in the appetizers, we decided not to spend approx. $40 on dinner. i was really expecting an awesome meal, but based on what we tried, i would not go back for a while.

i keep going back. yet to be disappointed. have gone two times and both times the meal has been fantastic. wine list is diverse and well priced. great service and management! last time we went for a friends birthday. i had a special bottle of wine for this occasion and asked if they had a corkage fee. the manager said that they dont usually allow it but would make an exception. needless to say we were more than happy and still ended up buying 2 other bottles off their list.

alloy never disappoints. i've been here many times consistency over the years. my friend and i had the mushroom gnocchi and it was delightful as was the tuna with the wonton crisps. he had the lamb meatball pasta special and i had the sepia pasta with tomato sauce/langoustine/sausage. the black pasta was clumpy due to poor attention while it was cooking and had too much tomato sauce despite it being tasty.

the restaurant was beautiful on the inside- a definate diamond in the hiding. the menu pricey but i must say they put a great deal of love & skill into the dishes they serve. delicious ahi tuna! the best i have had- better than red water.

my boyfriend took me to alloy for my birthday and it has become one of my favorite restaurants in calgary. the beet salad and mushroom risotto are amazing and delicious dishes! i have a bit of a sweet tooth and the coconut pudding is probably one of the best desserts i've ever had!!! also worth mentioning is the incredible ambiance and how beautifully decorated the dining area is!

great place. this is our favorite restaurant in calgary. the food is very good, and the deserts are excellent as well (try the creme brulee). it can get a bit pricy, at $9 for bottles of water, but the ambiance is great.

an evening to remember. we had our wedding ceremony and dinner at alloy and everything was perfect. the staff was outstanding and the food was amazing. special thanks to melisa for making our day memorable. we will definitely be back. john & jackie

upscale fusion restaurant with excellent service. not all flavours presented as they were listed, but it looked nice. good, but expensive. (3/5)
