overpriced, mediocre food, nice decor and service. my experience at alloy was disappointing as i found the food not very memorable and over priced. with the price of appetizers and entrees as high as it is i expected an exceptional meal and was let down. i found the service and the decor to be excellent. my date and i had a very private semi-circular pod for our dinner which allowed for privacy and conversation. i would not go back.

they should be stripped of the terms "fine dining". i had ordered the lamb for $46 dollars. my food came out luke warm and the quality of the lamb is maybe something you get at local mom and pops place that has mediocre food at best. the lamb was chewy and underseasoned. the sauce that went with it was great but there wasn't enough sauce on my plate. our group was 12 people and everyone agreed that their main dish was "barely ok or unacceptable"

our waiter was great, my only complaint was that in a high end restaurant, if the customer is unharppy there should be a discount on the bill. our entire table didn't enjoy their mains and there was no discount. to be called fine dining there's a certain level of class and character when it comes to reputation of good food. this place had no good food and made no effort in character to make up for it hence i believed it' should be stripped of the the right to use the term "fine dining" fine would be the last adjective i would use for the food, but i did enjoy the atmosphere.

delicious food and intimate setting. we decided to go to this restaurant for my birthday because it was right beside the holiday inn that we were staying at, also we love trying new places. making the reservation was very easy, left a message on their phone and they called back right away. hostess was very pleasant on the phone. we made a reservation for 6 people plus a 1 year old, i specifically asked if it was acceptable to bring my young daughter and they said of course. when we arrived again the hostess was very polite and friendly, but we found out they do not have high chairs. luckily enough we had a portable high chair in which they were more than happy to allow it. also no change tables for babies. the restaurant is beautifully decorated, nice lighting and could accomodate a large group or a romantic date. they are completly fine with kids but i did feel bad for having my young daughter there as she likes her voice and does not sit still. i would not take my daughter back but i would definitly go back with my husband. i would take an older child that can sit still and listen. the food was amazing. for appies we had the prawn tempura which melted in our mouth and the truffle gnocci which was creamy and not too strong of a flavour, it was just perfect. for the main courses i had the beef short rib which was so tender and pulled apart so easily. the meal sizes were perect it was a nice portion of food that filled everyone up, even my husband but not too much food that you have to take anything home. we felt the prices were reasonablely matched to the food and portions. no one out of our group had a bad meal, everyone was soo impressed with the flavours of their food. the only thing we would suggest is for our server to smile a little more, she was very serious and not sure if she was annoyed by us or what, but everyone else that worked there was smiling and greeting us. soo yummy, cant wait to go back as they change their menu with the seasons!

mini holiday. i brought my parents for my mother's birthday. her health has been suffering lately and so she is on a restricted diet. as soon as we got there we were brought the most delicious hummus and naan bread, and sliced raw vegetables for my mom, they didn't skip a beat. the menu is mostly gluten free already (for mom), but the server was able to make my mom very comfortable and guided her through the menu. we had duck breast, freshwater pickerel, beef short rib and char served with atlantic mussels. everything came out hot and plate licking delicious. the server was already in the loop about my mom's birthday, and brought it out with a candle. she was delighted. by the end of the night we were shocked that four hours had gone by. we will be back, and i recommend alloy to anyone who likes beautiful and delicious things.

been here a few times and the restaurant inside is amazing, but that's about it. the service was beyond slow, our waiter rarely checked up on us, our water was maybe refilled twice. food was fast, but mediocre considering how much they charge per plate. honestly i wouldn't have minded the service if the food was amazing. the best part was the free hummus. overall everything was just very average. it's a cute place for a date, but that's about it. not sure if i would come back.

great atmosphere, great food. at first i pulled into the parking lot to find an industrial looking building that did not look welcoming or even restaurant like in the very least. once inside my opinion changed drastically. beautiful interior and a good atmosphere.

their drink menu is quite lovely with several cocktails (i had a rhubarb mojito). wine list does leave a little to be desired however.

lunch menu has some great choices and the seafood hoy pot that i chose was flavourful and the perfect amount for the light lunch i was looking for.

service was reasonable but the server could have, at the very least cracked a smile. however, she still did her duties well.

had the pleasure of being seated in hali's (sp?) section last night. absolutely amazing service! incredibly friendly, knowledgable, and personable. the food was unbelievable. everything we ordered from appetizers to mains to desserts was phenomenal. alloy is very lucky to have such a fantastic server.

yummmm. was recommended to go to this restaurant and was not disappointed. food & service a 10/10.

an upscale dining restaurant right in the heart of an industrial area. we found ourselves in the right place. it was lovely. the setting was great. the service was amazing! (ask for zane when you go), and the food was wonderful too.

overpriced water. went there for a birthday lunch and service was great. however when asked if we wanted still or sparkling water we chose sparkling. when asked if we wanted more water we just said yes not knowing it was 8 dollars a bottle. we drank 4 bottles and i was shocked when the bill came and there was 32 dollars for water. they should invest in a machine like other restaurants and charge a flat rate of 2 dollars per person. the food wasn't great for the price. soup was very salty and salad had very little dressing. needless to say we won't be back.

disappointed. we were always curious about alloy, and decided it was time to go. i must say the decor was surprisingly beautiful on the inside even though it was quite deceptive on the outside. the food was mediocre at best. we had the seafood hotpot, the flavours were ok, nothing eye rolling good about it. the prawn meat in it was quite soft (not in a good way). the tandoori beef tacos were probably the best dish and even then, it wasn't something that i could talk about for days. the service was slow and it took our waitress 10mins to get us a refill on hot water. we were disappointed with the food and service and i still wonder what all the rave is about.

my girlfriend and i came here for our anniversary dinner last night. it was a saturday night. service was mediocre. our waitress was not knowledgable. when i inquired about wines she simply said the more expensive the better. i got pork, my girlfriend got duck; both the pork and the duck were dry, not to mention way overpriced. it also took about an hour, luckily we were not in a hurry and were enjoying each other's company.
basically: not what i call "fine dining". you can get much better food and service at an original joes or earls (for half the price).

dinner @ alloy. very attractive interior. food was incredible, you must try the gnocchi. melissa was very insightful about wine and helped my date discover a new favorite! it was my first visit and will definitely return. remarkable experience.
