the pistachio crusted seared scallops were plump, buttery, and perfectly cooked, hooves down the best scallops we’ve anywhere had since a trip to chef tom douglas’ dahlia lounge in seattle in 2007. the duck breast was cooked beautifully to a medium rare and the confit duck leg was the best i’ve tasted to date! the big hit however was the chocolate ice cream sandwich. everyone fought each other for the dark chocolate gelato that had a dark and rich chocolate taste without being sweet, meanwhile the chocolate cookie stayed crisp throughout.

foodtastic!. alloy exceeded all of my expectations, both food and service! everything we served was fresh, well seasoned, perfectly cooked and filling. although i expected teeny tiny serving sizes, each dish was actually larger than i thought and wound up leaving full and with left overs. co-owner, uri, was friendly, warm and welcoming, and you can tell his heart is completely in alloy as he ran around talking to table after table, helping servers bring out dishes, and even clearing tables. a perfect place to go with a group of friends or a romantic dinner.

some hits some misses. overall i would give alloy a 7.5/10

service was great, our waiter was excellent. to start i had the crab cake which was delicious. the sauce was excellent and the whole dish was executed well. for the main i had the short ribs. this dish was also very good, however the butternut squash needs a bit of structure to it as it is more like baby food than a base for the dish. i would suggest they do a blend with mashed potatoes to make it feel more like grown up food. otherwise the flavour was great and the short ribs were fall apart good.

i tried a taste of a few others deserts, the ice cream sandwich was alright, nothing spectacular. the taste of creme brule was much more satisfying and i would order that again. the sorbet was also tasty, but not my preference. they are lacking a rich chocolate option to complete the menu.

in all a nice experience with good food.

average & small portions. portions were small and food taste was average. mussels, panko-shrimp, and gnocchi were alright. fishes were o.k... one tasted like gas from grill. desserts and wine with meal were the best part.

honestly, it was very sweet surprise and it shows how much attention alloy puts not just on their meals but on their customers as well. be prepared to spend when you come to this place, but know that the level of service and attention to detail totally makes for the great experience you’ll have.

reasonably priced fine dining. just a quick note to say this is still one of my favourite restaurants. i hadn't been for a while until i recently took my wife for her birthday. it is now back on one of my top lists.

in the past i did find that the evening service and food prep was better than lunch. i'll have to check back on that one!!!

location location location. i still can't get used to its location. within its stylish ambit, some seriously delightful dishes are conjured, and proficiently served, up. it provides a wonderful escape when you're inside, and with its nice design touches providing great atmosphere, you're literally oblivious to where you are, until you step outside. you finish your wonderful feed, then you're thrust out into, and confronted with the aspect of being in, an industrial area. perhaps this is the intended design irony; i just need more time to get into the juxtaposition of it all.

excellent dining experience. tucked away in an industrial area with an unassuming store front is one of the best dining experiences that i have ever had!

the service and food are excellent. this restaurant is a place in which one goes to dine - not to simply "eat out". the time from ordering to receiving the food is quite long - but well worth the wait for the imaginative, daring, fresh and innovative presentations. this can and should be compensated for by enjoying a couple of excellent wine pairings suggested by their well trained and knowledgeable staff as well as a few appetizers that can be brought out in a staggered chronicity. the gnocchi here was the best i've had - even better than the gnocchi i had in restaurants throughout italy. it is therefore truly astonishing that this chef has managed to top that - and i'm quite critical and fussy when it comes to fine dining.

i would not hesitate to attend this restaurant again with some friends. this is not a place for kids without good behaviour, patience and sophisticated palates. even the fussiest adult will find something on this menu that they love, however, and this is the restaurant in which one can safely step outside of their zone of comfort.

a rare and precious gem that i hope continues to shine!

great decor and ambience, decent food. loved the decor of the place, looked very classy and modern. the location was good too, being from the south, its very convenient to get to.

had the tomato soup with grilled bocconcini sandwich, soup was quite tasty, smaller quantity than most other places for 8 bucks but was sufficient for my husband and i.

my husband had the braised beef short rib which was quite tender and flavourful. i had the chicken supreme in miso soup which was quite good, just nothing amazing. pricing was maybe a little high for the food but you're probably paying for the place more than the food.

the presentation of the food was nice and the service was very quick. we were pretty much in and out in 45 mins.

downhill. i enjoy dinning out regularly in different cities and admit my expectations are high. i hadn't been for a couple years, and chose alloy for my boyfriend's birthday dinner (expectations = really high!). it's still a beautiful venue, but the food was disappointing. we started off with the mussels, which were fine, though ridiculously tiny. the lobster fettuccine was so heavy, it was so saucy it was more like a cream soup, and the lobster came in the form of 4 deep fried meat balls. my dining partner wouldn't touch them. the pork dish was well cooked, but not memorable. the highlight was the ice cream sandwich and coffee, both of which were delicious but not enough to save the night. our server was good but the manager(?) who brought out some of the dishes mumbled terribly and we couldn't understand a word of what we were eating and i think that's a key part of the experience. the food and ingredients weren't the quality i was expecting.

third time here. still like it but didn't like my service by the male host at the front which soured the evening somewhat. had the duck and it was done perfectly. mussels for an appy were great. too full for dessert. my partner had the fish special which i think was a halibut but i forget, it also was good
