dinner at zume at the epic. food is technically great. you'd need to be on the beach at one of the heavy hitters to compete with this caliber of food. the portion sizes are small and meant to share which we loved as we have the opportunity to try numerous dishes - def try the yellow tail. wow! the service is typical miami, nothinggreatand no real empathy or hospitality. bring your wallet and all your credit cards because you'll need it. dinner for two with tip ran us $290. and we didn't even fill up on wine, just a few cocktails and a couple of beers. in the end we had a good experiece, the food being the clear highlight. problem is we left yearning for more food and more drink - we were both hungry and thirsty and had just dropped $300. zuma is a special occassion, let's try it once every month type of place and it really doesn't belong in downtown ... not yet at least.

they had a lovely host andgreathead-waiter, who was so kind to ask me my id when i ordered beer(which was a sapporo and even though it's hard to come by they had it), but quite dark interior due to its design heavily used dark wood
anyway, i was there for lunch so the place was quite empty so the service was quick.
i had shrimp tempura and omakase nigiri of 9. tempura batter was good which doesn't overwhelm taste of shrimps and doesn't feel oily. nigiris were good with high quality fish.
by the way grill doesn't utilized for lunches but dinner, so keep this in mind.

the setup oozes chic. the service is amazing and pretty much flawless. the vibe is only enhanced by the beats dropping in remixed classics that s just enough to keep you excited yet not distracted.

do try: the japanese hot pot rice. it seems like a bland and basic choice on the menu. it's not. it's a must have of deliciousness that is rich in flavour from meltedness and mushrooms and the perfect dash of truffles.

no need for: the black cod. usually doesn't go wrong but tonight there was something about the flavours and sweetness that didn't come together well.

the green salad was expertly seasoned as were the calamari. the eggplant side dish was also superbly cooked and agreatside to any menu item. the duck gyoza are stuffed to bursting with yummy filling. the sashimi was ok. the sliced spicy beef was also superb and so good that i found space even after thoroughly stuffed.

the mocha bamboo is an incredible dessert, i licked the plate and gobbled it down so fast no one else got to taste. this is a meal where you don't want to skip dessert. leave space for dessert!!

overall, the vibe, food and service will keep me coming back.

my to go place whenever im in istanbul. its a perfect place to enjoygreatselection of musics, lovely variety of drinks and authentic japanese dishes...i'd say zuma in istanbul stands in higher quality and more reasonable price comparing to london and dubai branches...beef skewers, zuma salad, tempura and makis are my fav.
don't miss it.

to be honest, despite loving zuma (oooooh that brunch!), i always stayed away from their miami spice menu. i never heardgreatthings about the experience. well, not only did i love it, it’s been my favorite thus far!. coconut blanc manger. salmon & tuna tartare. spicy yellowtail roll. roasted beet salad

a must experience, took my daughter for dinner and had their premium platter. the chef selects your meal for you. an 11 course dinner including desert. i'm usually not that bold especially in a restaurant that i've never been, but i'm so glad my date talked me into it. it was a shared meal and i can honestly say that one course was better than the other. i was simply wowed. worth every cent, and i'm certainly coming back. while the service was very good, and it's a beautiful place, it'sgreatfood. if your looking for a quite dinner this is not the place. two thumbs up to the chef.

went on my birthday dinner and was not a very pleasent experience. i and my wife were on vacation from india in miami and were recommended zuma by our hotel for a special dinner. so our table was booked for 8.30 pm and we finally got seating at 9.15 pm. didnt matter as we were having a nice time at the bar. we ordered the black cod with miso and my wife got a sharp bone in the fish while eating which is not expected at a restaurant of the quality and price as zuma. the server said he would replace and he apologized. after 7 to 10 min he came back and said he couldn't guarantee that the next black cod will be filleted properly and without bones as the server hadn't filetted it himself. wowww. so is it the server who fillets the fish. so he said you could skip the fish if you like. we then ordered scallops which took another 15 min to arrive while we were hungry. after that when we asked for pot rice the server said it will tk 25 min and then when we said get us some sushi roll quickly he said it will also take 15 min. when one has already had a bad experience then service and attention has to be better. while the food was nice whatever we had but then you expect better service. the senior management tried all damage control as we asked for the cheque after the scallops and wanted to leave. they offered us free desserts but we were not in the mood.greatfood and ambience but service needs to improve. maybe my case was a one off but it did happen.

what an unbelievable dining experience we had here last year while in town! our waitress lindsay was so down to earth and friendly and did agreatjob of surprising us with various food items as we had chosen to do the omakase menu. she tweaked it a little bit for us to ensure that some of her favorite items were brought to us and we loved them all! as we were leaving, gregory (the manager) came over to ensure our meal went well and we gave him our rave reviews. after chatting for a bit, he kindly offered to buy us a drink at the bar, very nice of him! he let us know that zuma may be opening restaurants in la or vegas soon and i was so glad to hear that. i will definitely be checking out any west coast openings as we live in san diego and don't make it to miami very often. but, every time i do make it to miami i'm heading to zuma!

over priced for mediocre food!!!. if your looking for a pretentious over priced restaurant, this is your place. if you feel the need to hang out with the so called "pretty people", spend more money than any normal person would for mediocre food, this would be a good start. my wife and i are caterers for some of the biggest names in music. we've eaten at restaurants all over the world!!! this has to be one of the biggest disappointments we've ever had!!!! bottom line don't waste your time or money!!! there are so many othergreatrestaurants in miami. with staff that will be more than happy to treat you with respect and be grateful for your business!!!

this past week, i got together with some foodie friends to enjoy a nice, leisurely lunch.  eleanor hoh, (the famous wok star), hugh sinclair (otherwise known as chef irie), and i decided to go check out the miami spice menu at zuma in the epic hotel. one of thegreatthings about this foodalicious time of year, is that it gives everyone yet another reason to go out and explore the miami dining scene. lunch and dinner become just a tad bit more exciting when you know (a) you're choosing from a carefully designed menu and (b) you're saving money. zuma is an asian restaurant featuring modern japanese dishes served in the informal dining style called "izakaya".  it offers both indoor and outdoor seating, overlooking biscayne bay. the miami restaurant is one of several of this brand located around the world including london, hong kong, dubai, istanbul and bangkok. it has a very energetic ambiance and was pretty much packed throughout our entire lunchtime
