white + wong’s

i booked a table for 8 people to have lunch with my team. seven of us attended.
everybody ordered the food at the same time, 4 received the food together, then after about 10 mins later, they brought the food for 2 more.
i was the last one to be served. i had to wait for more than 40 minutes to have my plate!... by the time i received my order, everyone on the table finished eating! so, i spent the whole time watching everyone to eat, and i had everyone watching me eating once they finished.

absolutely unbelievable, i had to ask the waitresses about three time if the actually took my order. and nobody apolized to me for the delay, and i was charged normally as if nothing happened. very rude, and unproperly managed.

ah, btw, they were very dedicated asking us continuisly if we would like to drink something, it was like they were worried to make extra money out of our drinks.

two thumbs up for the following:
1. xiao long bao - soup inside the baos was perfectly flavoured
2. korean kung pao - i loved its dressing! the spicy fried chicken was a great appetizer for the main course.
3. tom yum - although it was a minimalist dish with only 4 pieces of prawn, it was cooked to perfection! the sweet, sour and spicy blend was divine!

slight dismay on the following
1. wagyu beef siumai - it tasted like it was prepared a few days ago, as the beef tasted old and rancid.
2. beef shin red curry - had too much coriander in it (sorry not a fan of coriander). beef was tender, though.

$81 for two. not bad for the quality, service and location.

the service was amazing, the view was amazing and the food was great. i would come here again to try the rest of the menu but it’s a great place to be during summer and you get a view of the ocean

love this place! i’ve never had dumplings as good as theirs! the restaurant is beautiful and the service is amazing definitely need to come back and try something else!

decided to come here for mum's birthday and see what it was all about, since we've heard about the place from people who have visited before and were raving about the crab & pork belly. #asianfusion 🍲🥣🥗🍗🍙

ordered 4 entrées and 3 mains along with some steamed rice.
wasn't too impressed with the soft shell crab & the prawns on toast to be honest but the fried rice, hapuka, sweet & sour pork, beef shin curry & the fried chicken was pretty awesome.

will definitely visit again, to try out the other stuff 😊.
prices are a bit steep but good "mains" portion sizes.

rough spend for around 4,5 people = $220 - $260 💵

just had an amazing meal at white and wongs! never disappointed when i eat here! we had prawn and coriander dumplings, pork buns, soft shell crab and pad thai noodles with prawns. yum!!!! everything was delicious short wait for our food to come out. love the fact that the meals are slightly staggered great if you have a group and want to share!! staff friendly and attentive!! would recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a delicious place to eat!!! 👍👍👍

i loved the dim sums both the prawn and the chicken. the prawn is as good as hakkasan london .
the soft shell crab was outstanding . had a list of things to order but real soon.
the service was very attentive
both the manager and the lady who served us were attentive and personable

this is hands down the best fusion place in auckland. we got the xiao long bao (dim sum), rotti roll and green curry to share. amazing. the flavours were so fragrant and full. i’m usually not a fan of curry but this one was delicious and not spicy at all (i don’t do spice). white & wongs is the definition of foodgasm.

i can't fault this place - it may be my new fav! staff were very helpful and attentive without being over the top, we were seated right by the waterfront, a menu to suit everyone and the food was some of the best i've had! reasonably priced and beautifully presented too! will definitely be back!!

a group of 4 ventured down to white & wong on anzac day. initially i was horrified to see there was a 20% surcharge but then nerves calmed when we understood the surcharge was going to the rsa – nice one white & wong!!!

food: 9/10
karaage chicken gua pao – so good!
roast pork belly gua boa – equally as good!
both amazing value at 2 for $12.00
pork & coriander dumplings – always a winner
wagyu beef shumai – not my fave but a hit with the others
egg foo yung – this was awesome but very decadent as it was smothered in yum yum sauce. full of flavor and fresh ingredients. we could’ve eaten two of these.
roti roll – madam woo has always been my fave with these rolls but white & wongs version is great.

what a cool place, food is tasty, fairly priced and fresh! we will definitely be back. bathrooms are definitely out there :-)

absolutely loved this place.
the staff were so friendly, attentive and helpful and the atmosphere was seriously so good.
the food was amaaaaazing ! ordered their kung pao and pork belly and i was blown away.
the kung pao chicken was jam packed with flavour and is most probably one of the best i've had. the pork belly was cooked to perfection and was crispy and salty. it is abit on the pricey side but totally worth it!
would definitely recommend!

food: absolutely amazing, especially the "money bag" and drink were real nice.
service: the first waitress saw we wanted to order but decided to ignore, but the second waitress that came to take our order was really good.

the food was amazing!!
we ordered the squid, crispy outside and tender inside, and the sauce came with them was heaven, highly recommend this dish.
and for mains, we ordered beef curry and lamb shoulder curry, both were super good!
service was fast and staff were very friendly. good dining experience.

we found this place by chance when we were passing by princes wharf. it's quite hidden and the entrance is not quite obvious.

this is one of those places that serves small portions like "tapas" but in asian style. the place has an internal area and also a very nice lounge with sofas and sea view, really nice in warm days.

we had steamed dumplings, green papaya salad, chicken wings, tofu and smoked salmon.

food was really good, services was very nice and the environment is very welcome.

can't recommend more this place if you are into asian food and like having small bites instead of big meals.
