venice kitchen

absolutely phenomenal. everything from the shrimp appetizers to the blue sapphire cocktail was above all expectations. my new all time favorite italian restaurant!

horrible experience. i had the worst experience at old venice. our server was great but their manager is terrible. i ordered a dish that did not taste good at all. their was not much flavor to the sauce and the dish just tasted off, the crab meat tasted like it was out of a can and it just had an odd after taste. i had my co-worker taste the dish as well and she agreed that something was just not right. i told the server who was wonderful and grabbed her manager. the manager came over and was not polite or accomodating. she was curt and not concerned at all. when i told her the issue she said she could get me something else but i would be charged for both dishes since "i just didn't like it". i worked in restaurants for several years and this is not the way to treat a guest. i had barely touched the dish and explained my issues with it. i will not be returning nor will any of my co-workers.

went for brunch recently and was very dissappointed. buffet style fare was cold and old. would someone please hose the dirt off the two fake plants at the back of the dining room?

we ordered beer, chowder, and a small pizza with 1/2 bbq chicken and half chicken jalapeño. we liked the appetizer bread. when the waitress brought my second beer she mumbled something about being out of my initial choice, but i'm still not sure what i was drinking. the manager came to apologize for the wait on our pizza and promised it would be out soon. it was very good and when the check arrived the waitress told us there was no charge for the pizza. overall, i liked it, but the evening was somewhat confusing.

great value, decent food. value for what you get is awesome. it's cheap and the food is fairly good. i've been on the night where if you order $25 worth of food, you get a cheap bottle of wine. had lots of good leftovers and the wine was decent.

i like old venice. sometimes i love old venice the sunday buffet style brunch is pretty consistent. good bang for your buck and the staff is always fun to me and my mama. i also like the create your own pasta for lunch. that's actually how i first started eating there and for the dinner i've had the chicken parma and that mac n cheese had me speechless!!! overall big fan of old venice!

what the heck happened!. i have eaten here several times before, at this location and the one in oxford and enjoyed it. tonight, the calamari was absolutely terrible. it was very overcooked and tiny. we had to ask for bread, and they brought out 4 tiny breadsticks covered in onions and there were 5 people at our table. what happened to the loaf of bread they used to bring out when you ordered your meal? i ordered the santa fe pizza, and it was pretty much raw in the middle. it was smothered in alfredo sauce, and the pizza was so doughy from being undercooked that it was inedible. there were hardly any crawfish or shrimp on it either. the tiramisu fondue was gross and way overpriced. they should go back to traditional tiramisu. i won't be dining at the memphis location again.

great but discrimination. the food was awesome and me and my husband had been going there for a while. today i witnessed racial profiling conducted by restaurant employees. a white man had 'misplaced" his wallet and black girls were sitting behind him. the white man reported it to the restaurant employees and they came to the black girls table to ask them. they also asked them to open their purses so that they could be searched. when nothing was found, no one offered any apologies to the black girls. worse stil, the white man told the black ladies that they were sitting behind them and restaurant employees did not defend the black girls on this racial profiling. i had been going here for a while and had been my favorite restaurant. after the incident i witnessed tonight, the restaurant as demonstrated by employees actions is simply blatant racist!

one of the best!. memphis pizza cafe use to be my favorite place for pizza until i tried old venice. i have eaten several different kinds of their pizzas and all were surprisingly good. however, the best is the four cheese pizza. sounds plain, but it is super rich. with cream cheese being the base for this pizza, there is no room for calorie counting. i have yet to try a pasta dish, as i can't get past the pizza. the caesar salad is great too. i never drove out of midtown for take out until now.
also, the atmosphere at the bar is nice. great place to eat and watch a tiger's game. the martini's aren't too shabby either.

i haven't been here in a while and i used to love it here. after last night, i don't think we will be back. first off, the bread they served us was baked with onions on top. from what i remember, they used to serve small loaves but now you have to like onions to like the bread, which i don't. we got lucky and were able to grab a patio spot but our waitress out there wasn't the brightest. she was real sweet but wasn't very good at her job. too much olive oil and not enough pepper for the onion bread, couldn't figure out how to open a wine bottle and served us the wrong pizza. we were able to get free dessert for the mess up but the pizza should have been discounted, too. the eggplant pasta was awful, not cooked well and was so tough, it should have been served with a steak knife. i'm saddened by the experience and will think of somewhere else to go when we have a crave for italian.

old venice perkins, memphis tn. went last night, (have been many time, especially sunday brunch, pricey but good). i was very disappointed in the meal, chicken alfredo, was thrown in the to go containers like a hugh rush order, not visually appetizing, only flavor was salt, chicken was cut thin and had texture of chicken from a can. the bread was dried and hard, olive oil had no cracked pepper in it. tasted more like a cheap frozen dinner than the pricey meal it should have been. very very disappointed. will never go back unless a special occassion and to the brunch only. they should really be embarrassed by the chicken alfredo.

food that came from the grocer's freezer. the meat in my chicken parmesan tasted exactly as if it had come from a frozen box. the same goes for the grilled salmon. hardly anything special. the creamed spinach was more cream than spinach. the flat bread served with the spinach artichoke dip was good, but the dip was also more cream than spinach, artichokes or cheese. neither my husband nor i finished our meals and politely declined a to-go box. the only good thing about this restaurant was a nice wine list, but i need food to go along with that, so we won't be returning.

hog wild! four cheese! margerita! wow! great!

went for lunch and was in and out in 30 minutes. food was delicious and service was good.

my wife and i stopped by for lunch and i must say it was quite good. enjoyed the service as well as the food. great restaurant.
