i visited ushna today on 11-05-21 for iftar seeing the iftar menu on zomato. and also checking the good review of the restaurant.
but the food was not served as described on the iftar menu. menu was priced at 145 aed for one person.
i paid 116 plus tax for each person after zomato pro discount.
these items were missing from the actual menu
1. keema samosa
2. gosht nihari with khamiri roti ( main course)
3. hyderabadi daleem,
4. papadams, paratha, roti and home made chutneys
these were not served for iftar 6 set menu, even though it’s listed on the zomato iftar menu of ushna.
gosht nihari with khamiri roti, which is the main course in the menu was not served.
as for breads we only received plain naan and butter naan ( i checked with server for other kind of breads and he informed this is only available)
instead what i received extra, which were not in the menu were
1. dal soup
2. chicken curry.
3. paneer curry
4. chicken pieces in biriyani rice (instead of biriyani rice in the menu, found few chicken pieces in the rice)
the fruit salad for iftar was a very small portion for 4 persons, just one small plate.
and only main course dishes and starter is unlimited. apart from that not even iftar drink will be refilled.
desert was one piece of gulab jamun for one person.
when we checked with the restaurant about the items listed on the iftar menu, they informed that what’s shown on zomato is old menu. irony is that iftar started only since 28 days.
i feel this is poor professionalism from such a highly rated restaurant. my expectations were much higher.
i invited my friends for iftar as they checked and liked the iftar menu. they were especially fans of lamb dishes. it was very disappointing for my guests when they received items very much different from what was shown on iftar menu. replacing 2 lamb dishes with a chicken and paneer dish seems very disappointing.
i had an embarrassing moment in front of my guests.
i request zomato to verify this and provide feedback.
