this is the best indian restaurant i have been till today in abu dhabi . theambienceis just amazing and what to say about the food .. pure indian taste .. the service is wonderful too . staff is friendly . try dal makhani and kadhai paneer .. delicious !
overall a great place !

had been to this place last evening, to celeberate my parents anniversary. the service was no doubt excellent, very much friendly and co-operative staff. two things which disappointed me was the food taste not dat impressive and theambienceis a bit mediocre.

okay - theambiencerocks !! it is snuggly, chic, cosy and elegant. the food options for vegetarians need drastic improvement. there are only a handful of items in the menu for vegetarians. we ordered the samosa platter ( customized for vegetarians to remove the lamb samosa) , daal makhani and rotis. that came to a a bill of 156 aed ( they did not accept zomato pro due to hijri new year).

the samosa is the same as the potato samosa served in any other indian restaurant in abu dhabi - other restaurants may be cheaper and have a tastier potato filling. the only thing you are paying for is the ambience.

to be honest, i was not overly impressed with the presentation of the samosa as well - it was a pretentious 4 pieces of samosas with a few strands of sev, droplets of tamarind and mint chutney in the plate , engulfing the samosa as well. nothing blew my mind to be enamored and fancied by this.

the daal makhani was good but it was the same daal makhani that you can get at places like tandoori corner or other local joints at a fraction of the cost.

there is no value for money.
there was nothing wrong with the food but there is no wow factor- they really need to improve the food varieties for vegetarians and have their differentiation touch to justify their high prices - that was completely lacking.

even the chutneys and papad need improvement - both in terms of presentation and quality. example: check out the presentation of chutneys at signature by sanjeev kapoor. here , you are served achaar, mint chutney and papaya in three small containers. i liked the papaya but even that is not unique - e.g you can have that at via delhi in abu dhabi.

my family who was visiting me loved the ambience. but in retrospect, this is not a place i would even go for a special night etc. the value for money is really missing in my opinion which they need to fix - both variety for vegetarians , rethinking and recrafting a veg menu and their presentation.

ushna has been the most closest to my heart as i been dining since year 2008 when it first opened. they serve the most delicious dal makhani. their naans are soft and food awesome. theambienceis romantic and today the weather was much inviting to dine out in the open with cool breeze gently brushing your cheeks. the staff and their service are very warm and friendly especially yaqoob and faiza. it was my b'day and they surprised me with a delicious gulab jamum, rabri over crispy semiya and toasted almonds.truly lip smacking! i highly recommend all food lovers to dine in ushna for some lovely indian food.

this is my second time in this restaurant, connect to shangrila (walking distance). you may enter to this restaurant even if you are not staying in shangrila hotel. the food, staff and customer service is perfect. the restaurant has a very goodambienceand it’s in front of beach. the food quality of indian food is really superb and you must try once. the management is really good. the staff ms. faiza and ms. sharmin who served us during this time was really nice and profession

terrible food , dishes meant to be spicy are sugary sweet . the person taking the order apparently could make butter chicken spicy . chicken is not fresh , terrible welcome drink . even a 5 year old gave a thumbs down . just a single veg starter ( apart from broccoli , salad ) . jesus either i am too desi or these guys come from some other part of india .

birthday decoration charges of 120 dhs includes 3-4 balloons for which there is no space on the table anyways and a a5 print out of a photo that you have to provide.

service is good ,ambienceis fantastic ... if that is what you want to pay for .

food was delicious and service was excellent. the fusion cocktails were the highlight of the menu. the supervisor yakoub was very warm and attentive and catered to all our needs. loved theambienceas we were able to sit outdoors by the canal.
we tried the malai chicken which was so succulent and had a mildly sweet and spiced sauce.
the malabar prawns curry from their main course had quite a good portion for two. the texture of the gravy was an absolute delight.
overall service and food quality is totally worth the value.

had a great time at ushna. the food along with theambiencewas top notch. we were served by faiza who was kind enough to recommend us some good dishes. we ordered for paneer jalfrezi, dal tadka and a few garlic naans as the main course.
i want to highlight the serving portions were great for all and we didn’t manage to waste anything so plus points on that.

the paneer jalfrezi tasted amazing except that it was overloaded with onions. if all the vegetables in the dish could be added in equal amounts keeping the paneer in limelight, it would be great.

the starters that we ordered takes the award. it was the best of what we ordered and it’s called aloo chana chaat, highly recommend everyone to try it if they do visit ushna.

for the drinks, ordered 2 mocktails - coco mango and panaka. the coco mango tasted typical nothing extraordinary about it and i found the quantity also very little. panaka seemed exotic. it was nice but too sweet but not so bad. if the sweetness could be reduced a tad bit. it would be perfect.

we loved the food we ordered. the biryani was sumptuous and flavorful.ambiencewas good. the staff were all accommodating esp charmaine. we'll be back.

i loved theambienceand atmosphere. it was our first visit on anniversary and it really worth being there. specially staff are generous and quality of food is excellent. would recomend everyone to have a visit.
