my husband reserved the table in advance for dinner and informed about the occasion as well. when i reached there, the well decorated table with best wishes was ready for us. i was surprised and felt very special. once, settled down, we ordered the starter as paneer tikka and mashroom/broccoli tandoori along with drinks. both the above dishes were perfect and tasteful.  later the main course was also up to the mark. even, i would like to thank the person, who attended us, for preventing us from ordering excess food and later wastage. thanks a lot jeet andushnafor making our day special..

i never write a bad review unless it’s something serious ,ushnause to be in my opinion the best indian restaurant in the capital , everything here was just great , tell they changed their chef and staff , now the service are a bit slow , ambiance not like it use to be , and lastly and most importantly the food isn’t that great like it use to .


i think this is my last visit .

extremely upset with the service . we had booked a ramadhan ifthar package for 145 dhs per head . when it was time for ifthar , when we requested for water , we were informed that water is additional cost . even though we were charged seperately , the waiters served the food items in 1 plate for both me and my friend with the promise to keep refilling . when i was done with main course, i requested to bring dessert . on the other hand my friend wanted to continue having her main course but we were informed once one of us decide to go for dessert , we cannot continue main course even though we were charged seperately. they served 2 pieces of gulabo jamun in 1 plate for both of us .

when we requested to pack the left overs , we were informed that would be an additional 15 dhs . by then we were super upset with the service , the quality of the food and the response of the management . after negotiating for a bit , they gave an excuse for the take away fee . but all in one , i would never recommendushnato anyone !! so disappointing for 145 dhs !!!

i visitedushnatoday on 11-05-21 for iftar seeing the iftar menu on zomato. and also checking the good review of the restaurant.

but the food was not served as described on the iftar menu. menu was priced at 145 aed for one person.
i paid 116 plus tax for each person after zomato pro discount.

these items were missing from the actual menu
1. keema samosa
2. gosht nihari with khamiri roti ( main course)
3. hyderabadi daleem,
4. papadams, paratha, roti and home made chutneys
these were not served for iftar 6 set menu, even though it’s listed on the zomato iftar menu of ushna.

as for breads we only received plain naan and butter naan ( i checked with server for other kind of breads and he informed this is only available)

instead what i received extra, which were not in the menu were
1. dal soup
2. chicken curry.
3. paneer curry
4. chicken pieces in biriyani rice (instead of biriyani rice in the menu, found few chicken pieces in the rice)

the fruit salad for iftar was a very small portion for 4 persons, just one small plate.
and only main course dishes and starter is unlimited. apart from that not even iftar drink will be refilled.
desert was one piece of gulab jamun for one person.

when we checked with the restaurant about the items listed on the iftar menu, they informed that what’s shown on zomato is old menu. irony is that iftar started only since 28 days.

i feel this is poor professionalism from such a highly rated restaurant. my expectations were much higher.

i invited my friends for iftar as they checked and liked the iftar menu. they were especially fans of lamb dishes. it was very disappointing for my guests when they received items very much different from what was shown on iftar menu. replacing 2 lamb dishes with a chicken and paneer dish seems very disappointing.
i had an embarrassing moment in front of my guests.

i request zomato to verify this and provide feedback.

ushna has been the most closest to my heart as i been dining since year 2008 when it first opened. they serve the most delicious dal makhani. their naans are soft and food awesome. the ambience is romantic and today the weather was much inviting to dine out in the open with cool breeze gently brushing your cheeks. the staff and their service are very warm and friendly especially yaqoob and faiza. it was my b'day and they surprised me with a delicious gulab jamum, rabri over crispy semiya and toasted almonds.truly lip smacking! i highly recommend all food lovers to dine inushnafor some lovely indian food.

my wife and i we're staying at the shangri-la and made the decision to brave our first proper evening meal out with our 4 month old baby and we were so so impressed by everything at ushna! our server fayza was absolutely excellent, constantly checking on us and baby norah! the food was unbelievable, one of the best gourmet indian meals we've had in dubai or abu dhabi (and we've tried a few...) we'd recommend the street food inspired starters, we also loved our paneer and lamb curry options. in terms of the vibe they have really picturesque outdoor seating with views out onto the water and they have a really extensive drinks and cocktails menu! thanks to fayza and the team atushnafor making our dinner out so painless and delicious!

we recently had a fine dine experience atushnaand food was amazing with great service . good taste of non- veg food, chicken and dal makhni was amazing too. staff was friendly and special attention by sandy and yakub added to great experience. recommended for indian cuisine lovers with special occasions. cheers to chef and all staff. keep it up.

haven’t been toushnafor a couple of years and really pleased it is as good as ever. keep up the consistency guys! distance was well handled also so important to note this area was addressed too.

we pickedushnafor our christmas eve lunch. great atmosphere with chill weather. the best chicken 65 i had after so many years.the samosa was fantastic. ordered naan with paneer lababdar and southern railway chicken curry for the main. thoroughly enjoyed the distinct flavors. especially the fresh paneer was a class apart.
thanks to sharmaine and senthil for their courtesy and friendly service and making it a memorable christmas lunch. must visit place in abu dhabi.

went to celebrate birthday inushnaand it was satisfying. the food is great specially the shrimp and the platers. the service provided by faiza is definitely a 5 star. she always comes in the table making sure that everything is fine. the manager is very welcoming. recommend to celebrate a special day as they have a beautiful ambiance as well.

i had the opportunity to spend my birthday atushnaand i am super glad and delighted to have the best indian cuisine surrounded by gorgeous views of sea facing with lovely lights around sparkling around us .
i simply loved my birthday setup ,i felt so special every thing seemed like a dream to me 😍

my birthday dinner had some of ushna's signature dishes like pani puri , chana chaat .
chicken tandoori tikka ,mutton dum biryani which had this amazing saffron fragnance in it ,daal makhni,chicken curry amazing variety of breads along with mouthwatering desert platter that included all my favorites like gulab jamun,malai kulfi and rabri 😋 each dish was displayed so well and tasted scrumptious .
i loved everything about last night ,the service is so classy ,the staff is so friendly and attentive .

my card was charged and eventually i received a call fromushnasaying that they cannot deliver to me due to my location.i was asked to call zomato to cancel my order to get a refund.why participate with zomato and allow the consumer to order when the app knows my location.this is unfair to a consumer as the card gets charged and we have to initiate the refund by ourselves.it’s very annoying and causes inconvenience to the consumer.

this is the place where food which looks so good tastes even better!
had an amazing time atushnawhich is onw of the hidden fine dining gems in abu dhabi, the outdoor seating in winters adds the charm even more!
the manager senthil got a decorated table for us as it was our marriage anniversary and faizaa was very courteous and attentive!
loved the way they were friendly to our son and do order delectable gulab jamun there, a sure must have!
even paneer makhni and chur chur naan were just like the ones we eat in delhi, just not the look alike but they deserve praises to make it taste almost the same!
