i never write a bad review unless it’s something serious , ushna use to be in my opinion the best indianrestaurantin the capital , everything here was just great , tell they changed their chef and staff , now the service are a bit slow , ambiance not like it use to be , and lastly and most importantly the food isn’t that great like it use to .

this is the best indianrestauranti have been till today in abu dhabi . the ambience is just amazing and what to say about the food .. pure indian taste .. the service is wonderful too . staff is friendly . try dal makhani and kadhai paneer .. delicious !

i had asked for seating outside since the weather was nice. we got a great seat with that view of the creek!!! started with some chicken 65 and malai broccoli with tandoori mushroom and sweet potato.. the sweet potato was the best..
for mains we ordered dal makhni and kukure bhindi lababdar.. both were amazing and a must try here.. the only let down was the souq itself where we had to walk a lot from the car part till therestaurantas all the lifts from the basement were closed due to covid.. but rest was great. one of my fav indian joints..

awsome place with a wide variety of menu, went last year to celebrate my birthday they arranged a small cake and some yummy juice on the house. the staff sung birthday song for me and made the evening a perfect one. staffs - ann, jomi and kamalesh were awsome. therestaurantbelongs to landmarkgroup so earn and burn shukran points with a special discount for shukran card holders. i love the ambiance and the view of sheikh zayed mosque. must visitrestaurantin the town. food was delicious, we ordered dal makhani which was creamy and authentic. paneer tikka and galouti kebabs were fresh and mouthwatering soft.

a must visit every time i go to abu dhabi, especially with the easy access from shangri-la hotel. the atmosphere of therestaurantis so warm and welcoming, the service excellent and the food so delicious and presented beautifully.

it’s a cheaterrestaurantwhat rates they show in their menu for their food items you will not get the same bill on your checkout and it will be 20% higher then the displayed menu at the table. their management and staff behaviour are unruly and hostile.prices are not compared with the product like biryani cost are very high but really they don’t know to prepare biryani it was so tasteless and pathetic. very bad experience and never recommend for dining in thisrestaurant. thanks

one of the favoriterestaurantin auh. travelled all the way from dxb for their biryani yakub and being a lady host took care of really well. great vibe during the dinner view of the shk zyed mosque. i have tasted good 10 years ago and amazed to feel it’s the same. thank you.

okay - the ambience rocks !! it is snuggly, chic, cosy and elegant. the food options for vegetarians need drastic improvement. there are only a handful of items in the menu for vegetarians. we ordered the samosa platter ( customized for vegetarians to remove the lamb samosa) , daal makhani and rotis. that came to a a bill of 156 aed ( they did not accept zomato pro due to hijri new year).

the samosa is the same as the potato samosa served in any other indianrestaurantin abu dhabi - other restaurants may be cheaper and have a tastier potato filling. the only thing you are paying for is the ambience.

to be honest, i was not overly impressed with the presentation of the samosa as well - it was a pretentious 4 pieces of samosas with a few strands of sev, droplets of tamarind and mint chutney in the plate , engulfing the samosa as well. nothing blew my mind to be enamored and fancied by this.

the daal makhani was good but it was the same daal makhani that you can get at places like tandoori corner or other local joints at a fraction of the cost.

there is no value for money.
there was nothing wrong with the food but there is no wow factor- they really need to improve the food varieties for vegetarians and have their differentiation touch to justify their high prices - that was completely lacking.

even the chutneys and papad need improvement - both in terms of presentation and quality. example: check out the presentation of chutneys at signature by sanjeev kapoor. here , you are served achaar, mint chutney and papaya in three small containers. i liked the papaya but even that is not unique - e.g you can have that at via delhi in abu dhabi.

my family who was visiting me loved the ambience. but in retrospect, this is not a place i would even go for a special night etc. the value for money is really missing in my opinion which they need to fix - both variety for vegetarians , rethinking and recrafting a veg menu and their presentation.

maharaja platter was great. it was toprestaurantthat i've tried in uae though it was very expensive. a must try for those who haven't tasted yet plus the staff are friendly, professional, accommodating especially ms. charmaine, very knowledgeable about the food who assisted us all the way. great job keep it up. you guys make our special day. thank you.

i visited ushna today on 11-05-21 for iftar seeing the iftar menu on zomato. and also checking the good review of the restaurant.

but the food was not served as described on the iftar menu. menu was priced at 145 aed for one person.
i paid 116 plus tax for each person after zomato pro discount.

these items were missing from the actual menu
1. keema samosa
2. gosht nihari with khamiri roti ( main course)
3. hyderabadi daleem,
4. papadams, paratha, roti and home made chutneys
these were not served for iftar 6 set menu, even though it’s listed on the zomato iftar menu of ushna.

as for breads we only received plain naan and butter naan ( i checked with server for other kind of breads and he informed this is only available)

instead what i received extra, which were not in the menu were
1. dal soup
2. chicken curry.
3. paneer curry
4. chicken pieces in biriyani rice (instead of biriyani rice in the menu, found few chicken pieces in the rice)

the fruit salad for iftar was a very small portion for 4 persons, just one small plate.
and only main course dishes and starter is unlimited. apart from that not even iftar drink will be refilled.
desert was one piece of gulab jamun for one person.

when we checked with therestaurantabout the items listed on the iftar menu, they informed that what’s shown on zomato is old menu. irony is that iftar started only since 28 days.

i feel this is poor professionalism from such a highly rated restaurant. my expectations were much higher.

i invited my friends for iftar as they checked and liked the iftar menu. they were especially fans of lamb dishes. it was very disappointing for my guests when they received items very much different from what was shown on iftar menu. replacing 2 lamb dishes with a chicken and paneer dish seems very disappointing.
i had an embarrassing moment in front of my guests.

i request zomato to verify this and provide feedback.
