i have read too many reviews so thought of giving it a try.friday afternoon was ruined due to their food.i think whomever has eaten from there have not been to the best indian restaurants in abudhabi.we ordered for prawns wrapped in banana leaf andchickenchaap for starters.i thought that prawn was so rubbery and undercooked.after trying thechickeni wanted to give up lunch.it was tasteless.coating was thicker than chicken.then we ordered rogan josh andchickenbiriyani and biriyani rice.in rogan josh you will find 2 litre oil floating on top and not appealing.biriyani was pathetic.my daughter was saying the food court food tastes better than them.service was ok except for one waiter who was very polite and helpful.very expensive bill for a below average food experience.only good thing about the place is the view of sheikh zayed mosque.otherwise it was a complete let down.the manager also turned up for name sake.i will request everyone to try other good indian restaurants than wasting money on this one

i had asked for seating outside since the weather was nice. we got a great seat with that view of the creek!!! started with somechicken65 and malai broccoli with tandoori mushroom and sweet potato.. the sweet potato was the best..
for mains we ordered dal makhni and kukure bhindi lababdar.. both were amazing and a must try here.. the only let down was the souq itself where we had to walk a lot from the car part till the restaurant as all the lifts from the basement were closed due to covid.. but rest was great. one of my fav indian joints..

can someone tell me is this tandoorichickenand chutney worst food ever ???

wasn’t able to take a picture cause we devoured the food . one of the best indian restaurants in abu dhabi . they have the best butterchickenand the food doesn’t make you feel heavy at all . they also have 50% discount on delivery orders and 25% off zomato pro dine in .

i visited ushna today on 11-05-21 for iftar seeing the iftar menu on zomato. and also checking the good review of the restaurant.

but the food was not served as described on the iftar menu. menu was priced at 145 aed for one person.
i paid 116 plus tax for each person after zomato pro discount.

these items were missing from the actual menu
1. keema samosa
2. gosht nihari with khamiri roti ( main course)
3. hyderabadi daleem,
4. papadams, paratha, roti and home made chutneys
these were not served for iftar 6 set menu, even though it’s listed on the zomato iftar menu of ushna.

gosht nihari with khamiri roti, which is the main course in the menu was not served.
as for breads we only received plain naan and butter naan ( i checked with server for other kind of breads and he informed this is only available)

instead what i received extra, which were not in the menu were
1. dal soup
2.chickencurry.
3. paneer curry
4.chickenpieces in biriyani rice (instead of biriyani rice in the menu, found fewchickenpieces in the rice)

the fruit salad for iftar was a very small portion for 4 persons, just one small plate.
and only main course dishes and starter is unlimited. apart from that not even iftar drink will be refilled.
desert was one piece of gulab jamun for one person.

when we checked with the restaurant about the items listed on the iftar menu, they informed that what’s shown on zomato is old menu. irony is that iftar started only since 28 days.

i feel this is poor professionalism from such a highly rated restaurant. my expectations were much higher.

i invited my friends for iftar as they checked and liked the iftar menu. they were especially fans of lamb dishes. it was very disappointing for my guests when they received items very much different from what was shown on iftar menu. replacing 2 lamb dishes with achickenand paneer dish seems very disappointing.
i had an embarrassing moment in front of my guests.

i request zomato to verify this and provide feedback.

we recently had a fine dine experience at ushna and food was amazing with great service . good taste of non- veg food,chickenand dal makhni was amazing too. staff was friendly and special attention by sandy and yakub added to great experience. recommended for indian cuisine lovers with special occasions. cheers to chef and all staff. keep it up.

terrible food , dishes meant to be spicy are sugary sweet . the person taking the order apparently could make butterchickenspicy .chickenis not fresh , terrible welcome drink . even a 5 year old gave a thumbs down . just a single veg starter ( apart from broccoli , salad ) . jesus either i am too desi or these guys come from some other part of india .

birthday decoration charges of 120 dhs includes 3-4 balloons for which there is no space on the table anyways and a a5 print out of a photo that you have to provide.

service is good , ambience is fantastic ... if that is what you want to pay for .

food was delicious and service was excellent. the fusion cocktails were the highlight of the menu. the supervisor yakoub was very warm and attentive and catered to all our needs. loved the ambience as we were able to sit outdoors by the canal.
we tried the malaichickenwhich was so succulent and had a mildly sweet and spiced sauce.
the malabar prawns curry from their main course had quite a good portion for two. the texture of the gravy was an absolute delight.
overall service and food quality is totally worth the value.

ushna is a fine dining restaurant serving authentic indian cuisine located in souq qaryat al beri / shangri-la hotel with a cozy ambience, classy and luxurious décor , perfect background music, great hospitality , indoor and outdoor dining experience , a charming view overlooking the water canal and sheikh zayed mosque , outstanding food quality and taste , great food presentation , warm hospitality , incredible service and accommodating staff .

everything we had was perfect from taste to presentation to quality ,everything is top notched .

i must admit the whole experience was simply fantastic.
highly recommended and definitely will visit again.

we picked ushna for our christmas eve lunch. great atmosphere with chill weather. the bestchicken65 i had after so many years.the samosa was fantastic. ordered naan with paneer lababdar and southern railwaychickencurry for the main. thoroughly enjoyed the distinct flavors. especially the fresh paneer was a class apart.
thanks to sharmaine and senthil for their courtesy and friendly service and making it a memorable christmas lunch. must visit place in abu dhabi.

we went for our anniversary dinner and they had made it special for us with the decoration(charged additionally) and cozy ambience. food was good in taste especially southern railwaychickenwhich make you feel like you are eating homemade and maharaja grill platter is a must try. ms. faiza was very courteous in her service and was very friendly too. but due to covid precautions there were less staff to entertain every now and then. thus the service was not up to the mark.

we loved thechickenbiryani and their complimentary desert. and thankyou sharmaine for the great service. we’ll be back soon.

we ordered the maharaja platter which had good amt of chicken, mutton and prawn( single piece only 🙁) .

although i am not a fan of indian cuiscene, i am 100% affirmative that it is worth the try. i mean, i surprisingly loved it!! they were very flexible as i am not into strong spices (curry and masala). the butterchickenpaired with garlic naan bread is delicious and my mouth is watering just writing this review. 😅

we celebrated my husband's birthday at ushna with a group of friends and everything was just perfect! the food, the ambience, the location!!

we were given a section to ourselves for the celebration bearing in mind all the safety precautions. the team @ ushna had taken special effort and decorated the place with balloons and unique happy birthday messages were displayed around

this restaurant is set at a beautiful location overlooking the water canal.

the food was great and they have a variety of drinks to choose from!

must try: railway style southernchicken(i'm not sure but look for something similar in the main course)
