came here for dinner tonight with somewhat high expectations based on reading reviews here. unfortunately the food did not deliver. our waitress told us that they specialize in "comfort food" but i found that to be quite misleading given the portions were extremely small and lacking in depth and flavor. i was far from being full or "comforted". i would have .
appreciated a suggestion to order more than just 1 entree per person. i had the seafood potage ($22) and it was disappointingly small and lacked flavor and complexity. the size was extremely small for an entree with just a few pieces of fish, mussels, and clams. my hubby ordered the cornish hen confit ($24) and while it had good flavor it was extremely small. there was a half ice cream size amt of grains and only half a hen. cornish hen is super small--why only half of it for an entree?! perhaps we just ordered all the wrong dishes. our friends had some other dishes that looked a lot better- specifically the beef, bacon wrapped egg, and pork crisp

wow, came here for my boyfriends birthday lunch and they surely did not disappoint! everything from the interior to the food and even the service was amazing. we ordered the mussels and clams, crispy bacon egg, seafood stew, and another dish (i don't remember the name... ) served in a mini cast iron skillet consisting of tomatoes and chicken. everything was perfectly seasoned and delicious, the only dish i didnt care for much though was the dish in the skillet as it was a bit sour for me.. i did however love the mussels/clams and egg! the service also exceeded expectations as our waitress was so welcoming and easy to talk to. i would definitely come back, but maybe to try their dinner menu!

brunch done right that won’t cost you an arm & a leg!

opens at 10 so you don’t need to wake up early & line up to secure a table. the interior is top nosh with beautiful decor.

we got a table instantly & were greeted by friendly staff. our waiter was amazing from start to finish. he was very knowledgeable of the menu.

the crispy bacon & egg was better than it sounds- soft boiled egg wrapped in bacon then battered & deep fried. creamy & crunchy deliciousness.

the spam & eggs were accompanied by a bacon parmesan biscuit & deep fried green tomatoes. the spam was pulled pork squished into a spam like shape. everything worked well together on this dish.

the chicken & waffles were well worth it & for only $17! it comes with 2 massive seasoned crispy chicken breasts & waffles galore. the sweet chilli dressing dizzled over gave the dish an extra wow factor! best chicken & waffles ever!!!!

my recommendations- the chicken & waffles. your taste buds will thank you!

food was good. the tables are way too close to each other though. not the best place for an intimate date.

friend brought me there just because of the crispy bacon and egg. it's basically a little bundle of breakfast goodness. great food, neat decor.

tuc is a new'ish restaurant near gastown on west cordova st. (they've just marked a year in business). sandwiched in between the army & navy and the woodward's condos. the space is very "loft" feeling - with high ceilings, exposed pipes, reclaimed wood and neon sign art (think cool, partial cafe sign, not eye-rolling millertime). a bench runs along one wall with suspended padding, in a striking red, making for very comfortable, and unique, seating. the typewriter font menus are simple in both appearance and selection - eight starters/sharing plates and eight mains. great pricing too - one main (a 12oz dry aged rib eye) is over the $30 mark - all the others congregate in the high-teens, low-twenties. accompanied by a wide drink selection - rotating taps/curated bottle selection, classic & unique cocktails, wine, scotch and whiskey. i was in a simple mood - so

it’s been a few months since we’ve went for brunch so we dropped in on tuc craft kitchen. been here a second time for dinner too. they’re known for seasonal, farm to table fare. the place was bumping but luckily, there’s room upstairs so we were able to sit without having to wait. staff are friendly and service was good.

we had a great time having our dinner at this place because the food was up to the mark and absolutely tasty and along with this the prices were also reasonable.

nice presentation, but both entrées (snapper meunière & pork 2 ways) were quite bland. sauce was good, but there wasn’t enough. disappointing given other reviews & their special 5th anniversary menu...(2.5/5)

glad to see that tod cider from vancouver island is served here (uncommon to find in vancouver).

started with the pork belly crackling, delicious and highly recommended.

wasn’t thrilled about the sashimi appetizer, didn’t like the heat the cilantro. probably wouldn’t have it again.

the highlight of the meal was the duck confit. tasty and presented nicely. also liked the slaw that came with it.

the month of march is always a crazy busy time for me, so i try my best to meet my friends as often as time permits, but usually it’s a quick catch up over coffee or a hurried dinner during happy hour times. luckily i have some of the most understanding friends in the world and they always try to accommodate my crazy schedule.

we had the pleasure of being served by otto. he was very personable and was a top notch server. he and all the other staff we came into contact with represented tck very well.

we tried the appetizer he recommended (a delicious mix of cheeses and meats). the flavours mixed together very nicely.

we also tried the fish of the day, a scrumptious cod that was cooked to absolute perfection. it had the most wonderful seasoning on it with a variety of vegetables cooked under the freshly caught fish. it seemed to my wife and i that each item on the plate was carefully chosen to complement the rest. it was by far the best cod i have ever had.

we finished off with a wonderful vanilla custard type item. it tasted like vanilla ice cream except it wasn't frozen. it had a crust of different items that again was complementary.

this is definitely a place where you want to take your time and enjoy each bite. highly recommended.

very friendly greeting and awesome bartenders. they give good advice on beverages and meals. i asked for a good gin and tonic, got the lavender & grapefruit g&t which was a great pallet cleanser.

the interior is decorated with old warehouse knicknacks. i really like the huge gear chains holding the shelves up.

i started by ordering a main with 2 sides. the bartender gave me that "are you sure...." look as it was a lot of food. i took his advice and swapped the sides for the crispy pork belly starter, followed by the just chicken main.

the crispy porkbelly is sweet tasting, crispy skinned and chewy on the flipside. the red wine reduction adds a little acidity to it to compliment the flavour. really nice!

the just chicken was chicken breast cooked perfectly moist and juicy. the dried pear, artichokes and sweet bbq sauce mixed and matched the flavours so well. this was a definite good replacement to the chicken and waffles i so wanted.

the service is phenomenal - really friendly, warm and welcoming. i ate by myself but never felt "alone". really recommend this place.
