came here for dinner tonight with somewhat high expectations based on reading reviews here. unfortunately the food did not deliver. our waitress told us that they specialize in "comfort food" but i found that to be quite misleading given the portions were extremely small and lacking in depth and flavor. i was far from being full or "comforted". i would have .
appreciated a suggestion to order more than just 1 entree per person. i had the seafood potage ($22) and it was disappointingly small and lacked flavor and complexity. the size was extremely small for an entree with just a few pieces of fish, mussels, and clams. my hubby ordered the cornish hen confit ($24) and while it hadgoodflavor it was extremely small. there was a half ice cream size amt of grains and only half a hen. cornish hen is super small--why only half of it for an entree?! perhaps we just ordered all the wrong dishes. our friends had some other dishes that looked a lot better- specifically the beef, bacon wrapped egg, and pork crisp

very friendly greeting and awesome bartenders. they givegoodadvice on beverages and meals. i asked for agoodgin and tonic, got the lavender & grapefruit g&t which was a great pallet cleanser.

the interior is decorated with old warehouse knicknacks. i really like the huge gear chains holding the shelves up.

i started by ordering a main with 2 sides. the bartender gave me that "are you sure...." look as it was a lot of food. i took his advice and swapped the sides for the crispy pork belly starter, followed by the just chicken main.

the crispy porkbelly is sweet tasting, crispy skinned and chewy on the flipside. the red wine reduction adds a little acidity to it to compliment the flavour. really nice!

the just chicken was chicken breast cooked perfectly moist and juicy. the dried pear, artichokes and sweet bbq sauce mixed and matched the flavours so well. this was a definitegoodreplacement to the chicken and waffles i so wanted.

the service is phenomenal - really friendly, warm and welcoming. i ate by myself but never felt "alone". really recommend this place.

i was there a while ago and never had a chance to do this review.  i thought the food there was pretty different, but different in agoodway.  i had the steak and i loooooooved it!  i have had a few steaks in my life and this was one of the best ones.  it was cooked to perfection, exactly the way i wanted it.  the bacon wrapped egg and deep fried pork belly was reallygoodtoo.  i had a drink, and i don't even remember what it was, that there was so much ice and soooo watered down that i might as well ordered a glass of tap water.  although the table i had was a tad small, but the servers were quite friendly.

really enjoyed the eggs & salad at brunch. great flavour and texture combos; i'm trying to find an excuse to go back to vancouver now! service wasgoodand others at the table enjoyed their meals too. tried the "crispy egg" (similar to a scotch egg) and it was interesting but the tempura coating wasn't my favourite.

tuc craft kitchen definitely makes a great stop for a cocktail crawl, with an awesome list of both classic and original cocktail recipes catered to different tastes. i was pleased with all 3 original creations this evening, with the”flowers for algernon” being the gin perfection and my favourite. the”coffee & cigarette” also makes a fun and whimsical choice. there is agoodselection of small plates to go with your drinks and i think the crispy bacon and egg would go well with almost anything.

very poor service. above average food. overall, not worth it.

we were seated without a wait, as the restaurant was not too busy. took 10min for the waiter to take our drink order. while we were waiting, we were sprayed constantly by cleaning fluid by the server cleaning the table beside us. we eventually ordered drinks and food. drinks came 20min after ordering. i'm not sure how long americanos usually take in a not-busy restaurant, but 20min seems a little lengthy. the server did not even seem to remember, so we had to ask him again 10min into the wait. also, it was spilled on arrival, with no clean up. not evengoodamericano.

food came 40min later. ridiculous wait. server blamed an input error, rather than taking personal responsibility. at no time did the server come to us to update us on our order or apologize for the wait. we had to ask about 25min in after seeing people who came in later than us get the same food order.

food was okay. nothing special. not worth the wait. you can get the same thing anywhere with much better service.

overhyped and overrated and overpriced. took almost 50min before we got food with no update from server in that time.

warning: everything on this menu is drool worthy and comfort food to the max and also not for the health conscious! so throw away those scales and prepared to gain at least five pounds, you will be glad you did! . crispy bacon & egg $4. since every ig foodie that has been has eaten this staple item from the menu: crispy bacon and egg, i thought i would try to see what all the hype was about. the photo i think speaks for itself, the delicate still a bit raw egg yolk is delicately wrapped in fried up bacon with batter. the instant crunch and saltiness from the bacon tastes sogoodwith the bit of liquid from the egg yolk. soooogoodthat i didn’t really want to share this!

we had been here before one early afternoon during a recent rainstorm before hogmanay. then, the place was almost packed. this time we called for a reservation before arriving and that was agoodthinking on g. g. bylnn's part because tuc certainly isn't flying under the radar anymore, if ever it was. on our most recent visit the estimated wait time without a reservation, was well over one hour.

we went to tuc for a celebratory dinner last night. it's agoodthing the food was good, because the service was not.

we got there, ordered wine (white) and were served a warm bottle. the server put it in a cold ice bucket (without ice) and left it for 30 minutes. still warm. she put some ice in it. 30 minutes later (this is now one hour that we have not been able to have any wine at our celebratory dinner) it is still warm. i asked her to put it in their freezer. somehow she suddenly found a cold bottle and brought that to us.

we had the clams and mussels as a starter and they were great. there was lots of yummy broth left so we asked for some bread to soak it up with. thirty minutes later we were told that the bread was being toasted. why would you put toast in the broth? anyway, we were served toast, not bread, and it was all too late. the formerly yummy broth was cold.

our meals weregood-- the ling cod, the steelhead salad and the farmer's summer. very nice.

i had phoned and emailed the restaurant to make sure they could accommodate the vegan in our party and was told they could. when we looked at the menu and asked the server, we were told they didn't have anything vegan. *sigh*  perhaps we had an inexperienced server? the kitchen made it right and our vegan was happy with her meal.

the server repeatedly apologized for the warm wine incident, saying she would make it right. i was surprised when the bottle of wine showed up on our bill. i wonder what she meant by making it right?

i won't be back.

great food definitely here, went here twice already and everytime the food have never really disappointed me.

came here both for lunch time, and the price is great for the taste, but for the portion maybe it's a little bit smaller than what i hoped it to be.

the taste of each of the food i ordered is slightly on the stronger side, like it'll explode and leaves an after taste effect, but a pleasant after taste effect. so in general is allgoodand very well pleased with the time management of the food.

the servers are also great. :) recommend this place for lunch and ask their servers if you're one your first time, they can guide you through the menu :)

2nd time over here ordered a few more dishes, and all did not disspoint at all, lamb and mussels for appertizer and 2 sanwiches and a chicken and mash potato. all tastes very very satisfying, portion is small for me, but taste for price? a little bi more on the on the cost, but somehow i still think it's within my budget :)

great food and atmosphere, slow service though. had my birthday dinner tonight at tuc :] atmosphere was great and the restaurant wasn't that busy due to the rain. my friends and i ordered three appies/sides, 2 entrees and one dessert (which was a surprise cake of sorts for my bday). the crispy bacon and egg looked reallygoodbut...the bacon wasn't as crispy as i had imagined it to be. the pork belly crackling was to die for - the pork belly basically melted in your mouth and star anise red wine reduction was perfect with it. for entrees, we had the chicken for two and farmer's crop pot. the chicken was delish but the farmer's crop pot was a little on the salty side. we had the wilted kale along with our entrees and it was great as well. for the surprise, my friends had them add a candle to the chocolate mo'chocolate. there were pop rocks on top of the ice cream so it was super cool. loved the blueberry coulis - it was a nice palette cleanser to the heavy chocolate dish.

if you came to the restaurant hungry, expect a bit of a wait between dishes otherwise service was great!

i had the cabernet braised beef cheeks ($22). the beef cheeks were in a red wine glace, and in the same castiron pan were the gratin potatoes, shallots & wilted spinach.

it was kind of weird to have the gratin potatoes, which were like mashed potatoes, in the same pan. they became even more mushy after sitting in the red wine glace. it didn’t taste bad, was just weird to me is all. the meat was very succulent and moist. portion looked small but by the time i finished the starters and got to the entree, i was pretty full so this was agoodsize.
