my family and i went to triple j as part of a large group. the waiter placed no priority on servicing the group. glasses stood empty unless some flagged the waiter down. even then the waiter only filled filled that person's drink and did not bother with the other empty glasses at the table. these were not alcoholic beverages; the drinks were tea, lemonade, and water. there was no effort put in by the wait staff. because of the size of our group an automatic gratuity was added to every tab. the service provided was so poor i will not go back and i will advise my friends and family to steer clear of the triple j.

dessert salad??. have eaten here three times with ladies for lunch and i still haven't tried anything except the pecan salmon salad because it is so good. the salmon is perfectly cooked. the pecan topping is a little on the sweet side, so no need for dessert, i have always had enough left to take some home for dinnner.

update: march 2016
stopped by for lunch and actually have to say i have changed my tune since first review.
had the pulled pork bbq burger lunch special which was outstanding. moist delicious pulled pork goodness and priced right. will definitely be back if and when in the downtown area. give it a try you like!

fine dining?. why is this place rated in the top 10 under "fine dining"? just shows you what lubbockites consider fine dining> geez. its a microbrewery with some overpriced menu items! nothing more. nothing less.

food's not fancy but go for the beer - really the only place around to get local brews. among the places in the depot district, this is the place you can take the family.

yummy! chicken fried chicken- just right light batter and chicken wasn't dry. unique sides and attentive waiter! will have to go back and try the pizza!

. tasty rolls and the green chilli corn were great. the steak came as requested with the quality of meat very good. had the small filet and was a bit pricey , but fair for the quality. i'll come back!!

great steak but they shouldn't use the iron pressers to cook them it lets out the juices that make it tender.they have great service and amazing house beers. my favorite is the windmill wheat

we have always had a great experience with food and service at triple j. i like how you recieve butterflied chicken so you can take half of it home quite easily. bread and sides are delish and the owners are very nice folks.

had the 10 oz steak. good, the mashers were very good, asparagus was good also. typical western decor.
texas's steaks are a little tougher than i'm use to, but very good flavor.

a repeat place.

this was a great steak and i loved the honey-pepper seasoning on it. the rolls were warm and delicious. the service was also very good. baked potato was a little skimpy on toppings. otherwise, everything was top-notch.

amazing food and atmosphere. i always recommend this to people from out of town for a good local restaurant. my favorites are the choppy bob nachos, chicken pot pie and the chopped steak. my husband always enjoys the prime rib. we don't think their steaks are the greatest.

great menu and service! love the pama-tini, fried green chilis and grab the bull by the horns steak (cut your own steak) awesome! entertainment/music wonderful too.

wonderful food, but be prepared to wait! try calling ahead, but be warned that even if you do, there's a chance you will still have to wait quite a while.

over cooked steak, rewarmed baked potato, chicken tenders thickly battered (probably frozen) and fried so hard my teeth hurt to bite into, and sweet potato fries cooked in old oil. salad made from a bag with large chunks of nothing but iceberg lettuce. we told the poor little server how disappointed we were and she knocked off some from the bill. i have never had a meal in a restaurant in lubbock that was inedible but this one was. we left it all on the plate, paid and left.
