pathetic place. my father was kicked out of the establishment for not ordering food as he had already eaten. they wanted to charge a $5 seating fee when he already ordered $7 worth in drinks. they did not need the seat and there was no other reason for this seating fee, other than a cash grab. overall this place has good food (great bacon) but the service is terrible and the owner is greedy pig. don't go here, just avoid this awful place.

overcooked. saturday night for 2. mixed grill and turkey roast plate.

difficult to find this place if you are not a local, as there is absolutely no signage in front of the restaurant. however once inside you could get the sense of the history in the building. service was fine, but the food took a long time to come out which was a surprise, as the restaurant did not look completely full.

food: one word describes the experience: overcooked. and to be honest that is indicative of a poorly managed kitchen i feel. i'm no michellin chef but even i know not to overcook bacon to the extent it turns super hard (or is that what yukon bacon is suppose to be? hard and unpalatable?). the 100% beef pattie was dry and overcooked. the turkey was dry and overcooked. the reason this grates on me so is they are all cuts of meat that are not hard to cook well. it's not like trying to cook tender chicken breast, or fish that is just right. the portions were huge, but having huge portions of poorly cooked food doesn't make the food any less poor.

tip: if you do go - get something stewed. at least then there's no way it'll be overcooked.

ridiculously overrated. a disappointing experience. i ordered the beef dip and my companion had the club sandwich.

the beef was decent in flavour, having a home-cooked taste, but was overly fatty and chewy. i’m quite used to beef dip being messy, but it was already falling apart when it arrived, having been prepared very sloppily and without care.

despite being made from fresh bread and butter, the bread ends up tasting like the kind of foil-wrapped garlic bread you pick up in a supermarket, as it was smothered in garlic butter to the point that the flavours of the beef and swiss cheese couldn’t even be appreciated anymore.

i sampled the club sandwich, and the only redeeming quality was the generously used bacon. it was full of poorly cut dark meat and contained a large bone. we brought this to the attention of the staff who simply said “it’s because we use fresh turkey”. that’s fine and dandy, but i was not concerned with the freshness of the turkey.

the fries on both plates were soggy, which my dining partner was okay with, but if you’re like me and enjoy your fries with some crunch, you’ll be left very disappointed.

i’d also like to make mention that the staff were not particularly helpful, and would make eye contact only to turn their backs and leave.

this place is ridiculously overrated. it blows my mind that anyone would want to go here more than once.

so looking forward to this "breakfast experience" but let down!!!. since both food network shows "diners, drive in's and dive's" and "you gotta eat here" was filmed here and recommended, my boyfriend and i were stoked to try it out.

we both had egg's benedict. very overpriced for what you get! sadly came with frozen hashbrowns!!! like c'mon!!!!!

owner was very rude as he stood taking the payment from the customers, couldn't help at all with taking our names to sit down though!!!

overall terrible experience!! go to moodyville's on lonsdale!!! superb breakfast!!!!!

came here after leaving vancouver island. looked up good places to eat and saw this was on ‘you gotta eat here’ so figured we’d stop. we were the only ones when we first arrived but a few more people trickled in later. we did show up 45 minutes before close. the waitress was friendly and attentive and we asked for her opinion on a few different items and she was helpful. food came out quickly. the eggs benedict was good. hash browns were in the very small cubes which i really like. eggs were cooked nicely - not too runny and deep orange yolk. ham was vinegary and had a good texture. husband ordered the cheesesteak and the beef was tender and cheese sauce very traditional. decor is quirky and adds to the feeling of the place. would definitely recommend!

fantastic. the tomahawk restaurant is a hot spot restaurant that is a must visit! the food is homemade, with freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast. the mushroom, cheddar, and bacon omelet is sooo delicious. the portion size is great for the price, and it comes with yummy hash browns and toast! it's a popular place so you might have to wait, but trust me, it is worth every minute of waiting!

the burger arrived as a tower of truth. each ingredient was evident and identifiable. even the minor details, from the toasting of the homemade bun to the angles of the cheese to the liberal yet not overabundant use of sauce, made this a billboard burger which ended up tasting exactly like it looked.

tomahawk’s organic beef burger was made famous on guy fieri's diners, drive-ins and dives vancouver edition, so we had to check it out. but is it worthy of all the hype?

the 3.3 average rating doesn't show what a fabulous restaurant this is, their breakfast is to die for! my husband and i have gone here twice now, the breakfast is amazing, the yukon sausages, yukon bacon and how they make the hash browns are to die for! they staff is also amazing, very pleasant always returning to see if you want any thing else or  just to ask how everything is. for the price the amount you get and the taste, "wow" its great!  i have told several people about this place, i have gone back twice now and i don't live in the area, but love the food and the service and will bring me for years....

thanks tomahawk restaurant for a great meal and great service....

when you sit down at your table, the place mat is a map laid out that shows the different parts of b.c. and how the rest of canada relates to our fabulous province.

apparently, this little joint in north vancouver has been around since the 1920′s. i’ve gotta say, the decor is pretty interesting as is the mini gift shop at the front of the store that sells, what else, junior mints? . anyways, on to the food!. after quite a long drive here, i was absolutely famished and decided upon getting the delectable sounding yukon style bacon and eggs (14.45).

simple, simple down-home diner fare. comfort food, greasy-spoon style.
food is nothing to write home about. a once in a lifetime experience. meal wasn't memorable other than i opted to pay extra for onion rings to go with my burger and received 5 rings whilst everyone else had a side of loaded fries. some things seem overpriced. known for their breakfast, served all day.
not sure why so popular other than being a nostalgic place for locals. been open since 1920s, and is one of the oldest family-run restaurants in canada. a well-worn place full of first nations artifacts. back in the day the owner often exchanged curio items for food, many on display today. tomahawk’s burgers are named after indian chiefs the family has known over the years.

came here on a rainy day in january 2017 and was nervous when i pulled up to find only one other vehicle in the parking. i was greeted promptly and sat in a booth near the door. the décor is interesting, that's for sure.

the special today was clam chowder soup to start and stuffed yorkies. as delicious as that sounded, i went for the meatloaf. it came out piping hot, covered with a tomato based sauce and a pile of mashed potatoes. the meatloaf was moist and delicious, potatoes were hot (steaming!) and the veg was a nice compliment.

since the entree was such a hit, i ordered banana cream pie for dessert. absolutely yummy! huge slices of bananas in a banana custard and topped with real whipped cream with a light amount of crust. i wanted to lick my plate clean.

my server was very prompt and polite and i was relieved to see 3 other tables comes in during my visit.

total bill was $24 including tax. i'd eat here every day! lots of choices on the menu including burgers, fish and chips, salads, and breakfast.

edit: came back the next day for breakfast and had the bacon and cheddar omelette. tons of bacon (bacon was a little on the limp side, should've asked for crispy) and had a smallish amount of cheese. multigrain toast was yummy and was still a tasty meal for $16 including tax.
