pathetic place. my father was kicked out of the establishment for not ordering food as he had already eaten. they wanted to charge a $5 seating fee when he already ordered $7 worth in drinks. they did not need the seat and there was no other reason for this seating fee, other than a cash grab. overall thisplacehas good food (great bacon) but the service is terrible and the owner is greedy pig. don't go here, just avoid this awful place.

overcooked. saturday night for 2. mixed grill and turkey roast plate.

difficult to find thisplaceif you are not a local, as there is absolutely no signage in front of the restaurant. however once inside you could get the sense of the history in the building. service was fine, but the food took a long time to come out which was a surprise, as the restaurant did not look completely full.

food: one word describes the experience: overcooked. and to be honest that is indicative of a poorly managed kitchen i feel. i'm no michellin chef but even i know not to overcook bacon to the extent it turns super hard (or is that what yukon bacon is suppose to be? hard and unpalatable?). the 100% beef pattie was dry and overcooked. the turkey was dry and overcooked. the reason this grates on me so is they are all cuts of meat that are not hard to cook well. it's not like trying to cook tender chicken breast, or fish that is just right. the portions were huge, but having huge portions of poorly cooked food doesn't make the food any less poor.

tip: if you do go - get something stewed. at least then there's no way it'll be overcooked.

ridiculously overrated. a disappointing experience. i ordered the beef dip and my companion had the club sandwich.

the beef was decent in flavour, having a home-cooked taste, but was overly fatty and chewy. i’m quite used to beef dip being messy, but it was already falling apart when it arrived, having been prepared very sloppily and without care.

despite being made from fresh bread and butter, the bread ends up tasting like the kind of foil-wrapped garlic bread you pick up in a supermarket, as it was smothered in garlic butter to the point that the flavours of the beef and swiss cheese couldn’t even be appreciated anymore.

i sampled the club sandwich, and the only redeeming quality was the generously used bacon. it was full of poorly cut dark meat and contained a large bone. we brought this to the attention of the staff who simply said “it’s because we use fresh turkey”. that’s fine and dandy, but i was not concerned with the freshness of the turkey.

the fries on both plates were soggy, which my dining partner was okay with, but if you’re like me and enjoy your fries with some crunch, you’ll be left very disappointed.

i’d also like to make mention that the staff were not particularly helpful, and would make eye contact only to turn their backs and leave.

thisplaceis ridiculously overrated. it blows my mind that anyone would want to go here more than once.

fantastic. the tomahawk restaurant is a hot spot restaurant that is a must visit! the food is homemade, with freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast. the mushroom, cheddar, and bacon omelet is sooo delicious. the portion size is great for the price, and it comes with yummy hash browns and toast! it's a popularplaceso you might have to wait, but trust me, it is worth every minute of waiting!

simple, simple down-home diner fare. comfort food, greasy-spoon style.
food is nothing to write home about. a once in a lifetime experience. meal wasn't memorable other than i opted to pay extra for onion rings to go with my burger and received 5 rings whilst everyone else had a side of loaded fries. some things seem overpriced. known for their breakfast, served all day.
not sure why so popular other than being a nostalgicplacefor locals. been open since 1920s, and is one of the oldest family-run restaurants in canada. a well-wornplacefull of first nations artifacts. back in the day the owner often exchanged curio items for food, many on display today. tomahawk’s burgers are named after indian chiefs the family has known over the years.

i dunno why thisplacehas a 3.3 average. they deserve better. sure, their breakfast is the typical greasy, diner style breakfast but you'd expect that type of breakfast from a restaurant that has a name like tomahawk, wouldn't you? they serve good food. sure, a bit overpriced but the food's not all that bad so it balances out.

saw thisplaceon triple d.  the only reason for our visit, is due to the fact i work 15 min away and the husband drove me that day.  i was full just on the burger never mind the fries. my husband ordered one of their towering burgers (he can pack the burgers down, bairly on this visit).  the burgers were juicy, not dry, well cooked.  we will have to go back to try other dishes.  you will not be disappointed.

diners, drive ins and duds!!!. i had the new york steak special, came out looking like it was microwaved. it ended up being the worst steak i've ever had at a restaurant. i think the cook forgot to add spice. i wish i'd read reviews prior as i wouldn't had come based on their food sharing charge. who in their right mind would've recommended thisplaceto guy fieri? how embarrassing to have him come here. i will give props to the service as our waitress was kind and attentive.

lukewarm turkey and gravy. we went for turkey dinner with all the trimmings that they have on their menu every day. the whole plate, including the mashed potatoes and veggies was lukewarm. we sent it back to make it warmer. well it was warmer but still not hot enough. the stuffing was very bland.

the pumpkin pie a la mode was excellent but a small piece of pie. certainly not what was expected at this restaurant that used to be known for large portions.

my girlfriend was there the day previous and she had a good hamburger but she said the buns are now much smaller than they used to be.

after seeing great reviews on both diners, drive-ins and dives as well as you gotta eat here, it was very disappointing and not worth the long drive out to north vancouver from langley.

at the register there is a sign asking folks to pay by cash or debit although they still accept credit cards. thisplacemust be having financial problems as they seem to be cutting back on what used to make them have such a great reputation.

$5.50 charge to split an entree. 4 of us went in for breakfast, and two of us wanted to split an entree. the server explained that while she didn't wrote the policy, their policy is to charge $5.50. $2.00 maybe, but $5.50?!?!? again, we were ordering 3 entrees, but one of us wasn't as hungry in the morning. thisplaceis a run down diner at best, which makes the charge offensive. none of us will return.

horrible service! seriou.... horrible service!

seriously, the management needs a lesson in efficient seating. what's worse, is that i walked in with to go coffee cup. i was told i could not be seated with it. excuse me??? the reason from the owner himself was "you don't see people walking into the keg with their own steaks, so you?" no, i don't, and i also don't see steak to go in every street corner in north america like i do coffee. what a moron.

if i can't finish the coffee i picked up for my drive to your restaurant to give you my money i simply will not come.

thanks for making the decision not to come back so easy.

“tomahawk” has been recommended to me on several occasions. known more for their breakfast, i still decided to come in for dinner. located farther for me in north vancouver, i found it worth the introductory trip down. if not for the comfort food, for a decor like no other. if you miss it, the restaurant’s entrance is flanked by a pair of matching totem poles, the onlyplacelike it. with a spacious parking lot to the side it is fairly easy to get to and convenient to stop at.   at the lobby you are greeted with a scaled down gift shop. a corner store of candy, souvenirs, and native memorabilia for purchasing. i suspect this does fairly well as tourists often visit, and have been doing so since 1926. proof is in their framed awards. rows and rows, and years and years of accolades lined the foyer. decades of achievements throughout time, and a testament to their longevity.   past the food and collectables is a running water feature. a pond sized pool surrounded by brick, settled in by y
