nice food, great service but way overpriced for what you get. we went for valentine's day and were very impressed with the attentiveness, politeness and knowledge of the staff. they are definitely the strength here. very professional and good at what they do. the setting and ambience is really comfortable. we don't drink wine but they seem to have a big range.
the food tastes great but it is way over priced. for entree, we had brushcetta, which was pretty ordinary. very dry and tasteless. mains were wagyu scotch fillet. my partner said it was up there with the best steaks he'd tasted but for just shy of $70, it'd want to be! he ordered salad, which appeared to be quite big, but on closer inspection was just a big pile of mixed lettuce with a couple of pieces of fetta on top. a few odd salad vegetables were scattered beside. the chips consisted of 5 (yes, only 5) fat cut pieces of potato. i had lamb pizza, which was absolutely delicious. the base was light, thin and not oily. however, for nearly $22 for a regular sized pizza, it was horrendously overpriced. dessert was a tasting platter. like the other courses, the food was terrific but consisted of 6 finger sized desserts for $25.
i would definitely go again if it wasn't so overpriced. bendigo isn't exactly the gourmet centre of victoria, so i don't think this restaurant warrants the prices they charge.
