this place is great for a nice meal with loved ones. warm and attentive service without being over the top. food was delicious - loved the steak, wagyu burger and wood fired pizza. reasonable prices for a lovely atmosphere.

amazing food. myself and a friend of mine are in bendgio fairly regularly. wow are we glad we found the woodhouse. we have been three times now and each time has been amazing. everything we have had has been brilliant! yes the staff are young, no the chairs aren't particularly comfortable. ok the wine list is so-so (although it does feature some great local wines)
but these are minor niggles. the fact is that the woodhouse has provided us with the most amazing steak, the best charcuterie platter i have ever had and the best value one to boot as well as the best sorbet it has ever been the pleasure to put in my mouth. (i know, no-one goes to a restaurant for a sorbet...but i tell you it's worth it).
smoked wagyu brisket. it's better than it sounds and it sounds freaking incredible.
it was so good i lured a food blogger down from melb in the rain and the cold and he was totally sold on it.
having sampled bendigos so called "best" places for over a year now i can confidently say that if you go anywhere else but the woodhouse the next time your in bendgio you are doing yourself a dis-service.

well, this was one hell of a food adventure, certainly the furthest i’ve driven just for a burger - chris has been waxing lyrical about the woodhouse in bendigo for weeks. it’s a restaurant in cbd area of bendigo – which is about halfway between echuca and melbourne. chris spends a lot of time driving through bendigo visiting his friend hanna who lives just outside of echuca, they tend to meet up in bendigo since it’s the halfway point – apparently they’ve sampled many of the culinary delights that bendigo has to offer and rave about the woodhouse (best wagyu tasting plate ever according to chris). i on the other hand had never been to bendigo. and let’s be honest, why would i go to bendigo? it’s a 300km+ round trip from melbourne and there’s not much on the way… well, i finally caved – chris convinced me to drive up the calder hwy on friday night and gi

divine. our family had a “die and go to food heaven” experience at the woodhouse bendigo last week. the food was perfect in every way, the staff were super efficient and the ambience was perfect. and for a a gf family it was topped off by a good part of the menu being gf, including the kids menu and the desserts.

my husband and i both agreed that this was one of the best meals we’ve ever had, nationally or internationally. the desserts were superb and gave the main meals a run for their money. we are still talking about it a week later; and we've dined "everywhere man".

perfect meal. we dined here with friends and the service was exceptional, the wine list was extensive with a great selection. the pizza's which we all opted to order were cooked perfectly, the prawn and moreton bay bug pizza was simple but delish and the base cooked nice and crispy and not to thick was definitely the best pizza i have had in a long time. the desert tasting plate was exceptional, great selection and made with love. definitely worth a visit but would suggest if you want a quiet dining experience to ask for a room, it was a little noisy in the main area with large groups.

delicious. this was a return visit to the woodhouse with my husband. we both had a wagyu steak which was cooked to perfection and as ordered. it was hard to choose just one dessert and even though i was tempted to try the tasting plate i ordered the rhubarb and pear crumble. it is the best crumble i have ever had. will definitely be back again. service was great, staff very friendly.

ugly water mark is due to some foolish person not asking permission to use my pics on their website. that resulted in a poor quality resolution photo. you can get a high quality one by asking nicely!!!the menu had wood fire oven pizzas, steaks and other mains. i chose the wagyu beef salad $28.90 and shared some thick, triple cooked hand cut chips $8 (more like wedges to me) with this super awesome smoky bbq sauce, rosemary, roasted garlic and aioli. i adored my ‘salad’ though the title is rendered useless because of the generous amount of wood grilled shar wagyu f1 tender rump #7 that was in it. there was an even balance of creamy danish feta cubes, fresh spinach leaves, mustard cress, pickled beetroot, dehydrated tomato slices, fried onions that was nicely splooshed with a mild sesame dressing. seeing food that is stacked high is begging to be pushed over and so i did and attacked it with gusto. what i wasn’t expecting to see that there was more food and the presentation was some wei

it's what you would expect from a steak house, everything except the prices. $$$$ but the food was pretty good. wines by the glass were great. bit slow getting simple food out of the kitchen, but overall a good night

nice food, great service but way overpriced for what you get. we went for valentine's day and were very impressed with the attentiveness, politeness and knowledge of the staff. they are definitely the strength here. very professional and good at what they do. the setting and ambience is really comfortable. we don't drink wine but they seem to have a big range.

the food tastes great but it is way over priced. for entree, we had brushcetta, which was pretty ordinary. very dry and tasteless. mains were wagyu scotch fillet. my partner said it was up there with the best steaks he'd tasted but for just shy of $70, it'd want to be! he ordered salad, which appeared to be quite big, but on closer inspection was just a big pile of mixed lettuce with a couple of pieces of fetta on top. a few odd salad vegetables were scattered beside. the chips consisted of 5 (yes, only 5) fat cut pieces of potato. i had lamb pizza, which was absolutely delicious. the base was light, thin and not oily. however, for nearly $22 for a regular sized pizza, it was horrendously overpriced. dessert was a tasting platter. like the other courses, the food was terrific but consisted of 6 finger sized desserts for $25.

i would definitely go again if it wasn't so overpriced. bendigo isn't exactly the gourmet centre of victoria, so i don't think this restaurant warrants the prices they charge.
