too bad they are not serving pizza anymore, tried other food and it was not bad.servicewas good. ambiance was good. a bit pricey though.

amazing! from ambiance,serviceto food quality. this is an exceptional and faultless place to be. it’s worth driving all the way to bendigo just to dine here. we chose ‘the woodhouse experience’ and was spoilt by dish after dishes of well presented, top quality foods. the wagyu steak was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy. the jus that came with it was bursting with flavour, we barely needed any other sauces to enhance our steak. one of the other highlight was one of the waiter came over and congratulated us on our wedding anniversary and poured us a glass of sparkling wine each on the house to start off the celebration. a big thank you to all the staff for making our anniversary dinner so special!

i love dining at the woodhouse. the food is always at a high standard and theserviceis friendly and professional.
we are really lucky that bendigo has a restaurant like this. keep up the high quality standards.

incredible food. it's clear the owner and chefs have passion in the kitchen with there selection of organic local produce along with the way it's put together. the wood fire in winter along with the crisp flavors from the wood grill make it a must visit.serviceis perfect and beautifully walks the line between under and over servicing. spot on.

the third rating of a 5 i have given in over 200 reviews, great service, great food and reasonably priced considering the ingredients used and quality service.entering off the street the first thing you see is the meat safe with beef aging before your eyes.attentiveserviceby more then one staff member ready to refill the glass or pick up that dropped knife.the tartare served with caper berries was great as were all the dishes, rib eye, with bone marrow gravy, the side of mushroom and a lovely burger. an extensive cocktail and wine list will please.

a mothers day to remember. ok so i know i've only been a mum for a short time, but omg, this mothers day was perfect. got spoilt in the morning by my husband and little girl, then was taken to lunch at the woodhouse, where all mums recieved a complimentary sparkling rising sun which was yummy and made me feel a little special. again the meals just melted in your mouth after being cooked to perfection oh and the dessert omg, you've got to try the chocolate fudge sundae mmmmmmm more please. what a great day. great company, great food, greatserviceand we went home feeling all warm and fuzzy, (well i did).
thank you to all the staff at the woodhouse.

mmm. over the weekend i was at the woodhouse and we were seated in their side room, i was a bit concernd to start with but with the gas heater down one end and the warm lighting it didn;t take us long to get confortable, especially with the way were looked after by the staff from the instant we arrived. again the meals were fantastic; we started with the charcuterie board, which i mostly ate, then i had the porterhouse which was cooked to perfection and finished with the tasting plate which i ended up having all to myself (had to order another one for my husband). during the evening my husband suprised me and said that he had booked our family in for mothers day lunch, i can't wait.

thankyou dinning experince recommended. what can i say. in the short time the woodhouse has been open i've been lucky enough and i say lucky because i've been there twice and each time its been awesome. the first time my husband and i walked in memories of home came to me with the smell of the redgum. my husband and i enjoyed every minute of this incredible experience although with our gourgeous little girl at home with grandma time flew.
this experience should be highly rated.
on our second visit we went as a family and i was so impressed that our little girl was treated as a real little person from having pencils and a colouring page for her, the way the staff treated her and included her to the absolutely awesome specialised kids menu which were little grown up meals same as mum and dad

food was average but excellent customer service! my partner and i came all the way from melbourne for the woodhouse's steak, unfortunately i didn't enjoy the steak. i ordered an eye fillet and the taste and the flavour of the steak was a rather disappointing. i have given comment to the waitress and the comment was passed on to the floor manager (i believe he was the floor manager). then he came over to explain he has personally tasted the beer itself and it tasted fine. he then offered to have this taken off the bill as he felt sorry that i didn't enjoy my meal. i was impressed by the service, he didn't have to do that but he insisted to do that because he wants to make sure every customer feels happy leaving the restaurant. in short, excellent customerserviceand will come back again for their service!

has to be my favorite restaurant. went there the other day and had the pizza with wild mushrooms, san marzano tomatoes etc. it was incredible, one of the best pizzas i've ever tasted. the interior is so cozy with open fire crackling nearby. great friendlyserviceas well. already thinking about our next visit there, cannot wait.

burned steak!!!!!!!!. went for lunch for a good steak and was very disappointed. below average for what you pay. the steak was burned and was medium cooked and not medium rare as i asked. the only thing that you could taste was the burned charcoal flavour. very disappointed never go back. theservicewas excellent and tipped the waiter for his effort but it does not balance with the food

the atmosphere of this place is amazing and elegant. you could see where they grill the meats. the only thing that i found strange is you are greeted with shelves of (?) fake meats, or real? not sure. i found it’s kinda scary in a way. their steak was the best one i ever had, just enough amount of fat to make it really tasty. the steak came with layered sliced potato baked, beautiful presentation and delicious. we also ordered zucchini flower dish and roasted pumpkin, both cooked beautifully and presented nicely. the roasted pumpkin was a generous portion, although they are quite sweet and can overpower the steak. theservicewas a little disorganised, they asked for the order twice (different waiters) and my drink came out wrong so they had to remake another one. unfortunately the drink that i ordered, virgin mary, was probably the most horrible mocktail i ever had. it was very sour but not much other flavour or niceness to it. i was struggling to even sip it. i wished i would have taken the wrong drink they brought the first time 😂. but overall amazing food, amazing atmosphere. would definitely go here for a steak again.

the woodhouse knows how to attract customers very well. from the top notchserviceand a variety of mouth watering dishes to the knowledgeable staff who can explain every detail of the plates, this place is a 5 stars steakhouse in my book. i particularly liked the assortment of the desserts at the end of the 5 course meal i had. highly recommended.

if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
i was so underwhelmed by the kitchen, i don't even know where to start.
the quail came out dry,and my mouth was already wet with a cosmo and other pre dinner drinks beforehand to boot. the lack of soberness didn't save the quail back to life.
the wagyu was fine, until they salted it to oblivion and then expected their mustards and "chimichirri" to do something about it. i have had chimichirri that i would rate as the protector of beef and a miracle this world needs to witness (from a argentinean colleague no less). this was not it.
the "hottest mustard" did save it a bit - i don't like mustard, period, but this did wonders by overpowering the salt. needless to say, it rendered the wagyu (9+ no less) no better than a pub porterhouse.
i really hoped the chef could redeem himself with a simple creme brulee, but then he decided to put extra biscuits (with an extra mm of sugar dusting!) on an already super crunchy brulee. if it's about confidence of the crunch of brulee to last the whole brulee, this chef needs to eat his own 3mm crunch on his own brulee.
imho every chef needs to eat their own food (and their sous' and their cooks' food). the intent is there, but the execution is so below par.
this is unfortunate, as theserviceis top notch and deserve every praise and it's almost 4 rating.

this restaurant was pretty good for family dinners and it had a sort of friendly atmosphere and the staffservicecould be improved. the only downside of this restaurant is that the price of the food is expensive and should be a bit cheaper. the restrooms also need to be cleaned because when we went there it was dirty and very smelly. overall this is a good restaurant for big family meals.

this is our first time here and from theserviceto the food, it’s 5 stars. our waiter is extremely attentive, thorough and recommended us delicious dishes!

the food is probably the best steak and sides i’ve ever had. we had the rib eye to share and it was just enough. the highlight was definitely the cauliflower side! that was delicious!!! 👍

overall, great warm place with amazingservicefrom the staffs! highly recommend

too pretentious. the quality of the food was nice however, incredibly overpriced for what was on the plate. $56 for a porterhouse is absolutely outrageous. not even an upmarket melbourne steakhouse charges those prices for a porterhouse. they claim the steak is from cohuna and therefore must be for the refined palate at those prices? i'm from cohuna, mate. the steak is good but it ain't $56 porterhouse good. theservicewas slow and the waiters were flustered and seemed a little unorganised. it was a full house on a saturday night so it's understandable that they were busy however, it was a little chaotic. they make an excellent espresso martini though and the ambiance was quite nice. it's a pleasant looking restaurant with beautiful stained glass skylights. so, if you enjoy overpriced pretentious food in a low lit restaurant, this is the place for you. if not, i don't recommend it.
