a mothers day to remember. ok so i know i've only been a mum for a short time, but omg, this mothers day was perfect. got spoilt in the morning by my husband and little girl, then was taken to lunch at the woodhouse, where all mums recieved a complimentary sparkling rising sun which was yummy and made me feel a little special. again the meals just melted in your mouth after being cooked to perfection oh and the dessert omg, you've got to try the chocolate fudge sundae mmmmmmm more please. what a great day. great company, great food, great service and we went home feeling all warm and fuzzy, (well i did).

mmm. over the weekend i was at the woodhouse and we were seated in their side room, i was a bit concernd to start with but with the gas heater down one end and the warm lighting it didn;t take us long to get confortable, especially with the way were looked after by the staff from the instant we arrived. again the meals were fantastic; we started with the charcuterie board, which i mostly ate, then i had the porterhouse which was cooked to perfection and finished with the tasting plate which i ended up having all to myself (had to order another one for my husband). during the evening my husband suprised me and said that he had booked our family in for mothers day lunch, i can't wait.

thankyou dinning experince recommended. what can i say. in the shorttimethe woodhouse has been open i've been lucky enough and i say lucky because i've been there twice and eachtimeits been awesome. the firsttimemy husband and i walked in memories of home came to me with the smell of the redgum. my husband and i enjoyed every minute of this incredible experience although with our gourgeous little girl at home with grandmatimeflew.
this experience should be highly rated.
on our second visit we went as a family and i was so impressed that our little girl was treated as a real little person from having pencils and a colouring page for her, the way the staff treated her and included her to the absolutely awesome specialised kids menu which were little grown up meals same as mum and dad

the atmosphere of this place is amazing and elegant. you could see where they grill the meats. the only thing that i found strange is you are greeted with shelves of (?) fake meats, or real? not sure. i found it’s kinda scary in a way. their steak was the best one i ever had, just enough amount of fat to make it really tasty. the steak came with layered sliced potato baked, beautiful presentation and delicious. we also ordered zucchini flower dish and roasted pumpkin, both cooked beautifully and presented nicely. the roasted pumpkin was a generous portion, although they are quite sweet and can overpower the steak. the service was a little disorganised, they asked for the order twice (different waiters) and my drink came out wrong so they had to remake another one. unfortunately the drink that i ordered, virgin mary, was probably the most horrible mocktail i ever had. it was very sour but not much other flavour or niceness to it. i was struggling to even sip it. i wished i would have taken the wrong drink they brought the firsttime😂. but overall amazing food, amazing atmosphere. would definitely go here for a steak again.

stuck in bendigo for business by myself on a saturday night in the middle of winter, i was drawn to the woodhouse by the smell of well cooked steak wafting through the night air.  luckily i was early enough that they could seat me on a single table, provided i agreed to be out intimefor the 7:30 booking!  the attentive waitress left me with a menu, a bottle of mineral water and a glass of wine as i soaked up the atmosphere and warmed up from the heat of the fire.  i ordered a steak medium rare with baked potato and some sauces.  what arrived at my table was a little slice of heaven!  the streak was cooked to perfection and the sides were great as well.  there was nothing to do by order another glass of the local red and tuck in!
the meal went down too easily, thetimewent by to quickly, and before i knew it i was back on the street, with nothing but the smell and the after taste of a great meal to remind me of my experience.  hopefully i will be back in bendigo soon for pleasure rather than business and when i am i know where my partner and i will be eating - the woodhouse.

this is our firsttimehere and from the service to the food, it’s 5 stars. our waiter is extremely attentive, thorough and recommended us delicious dishes!

the food is probably the best steak and sides i’ve ever had. we had the rib eye to share and it was just enough. the highlight was definitely the cauliflower side! that was delicious!!! 👍

overall, great warm place with amazing service from the staffs! highly recommend

firsttimehere, my partner has been talking highly about this place. for entrée we ordered carpaccio, it was simple and not too heavy for an entree. for main i had eye fillet, the medium rare eye fillet was not evenly cooked, one side was medium another half was medium rare 🤷🏻‍♀️, so was abit disappointed. my partners steak was over cooked too. we ordered onion ring, salad and brussels sprouts for sides. my favorite was brussels sprouts, the onion rings were okay. overall i expected more as the overcooked meat was a let down but would definitely go back and give them a second chance.

firsttimehere so we tried the angus experience. it was delicious. one of the best steaks i have ever had. service was great and staff knew their menu well. we will definitely be coming back here.

my husband took me here on our first date ever!!! it was awesome, food was great! service amazing and i really loved the dessert taster, was a delicious and wonderful experience, will be going again for sure nexttimeim in town!

we ordered the taste of the sea which is so-so, for the price and taste is not worth it, charcuterie was awsome, can taste that they used quality meat and there are so many variety of pickles, at least more than 5, yumm! the dessert tasting plate was only ok, wont order it nexttimeas everything was so rich and some got weird taste.

amazing food. myself and a friend of mine are in bendgio fairly regularly. wow are we glad we found the woodhouse. we have been three times now and eachtimehas been amazing. everything we have had has been brilliant! yes the staff are young, no the chairs aren't particularly comfortable. ok the wine list is so-so (although it does feature some great local wines)
but these are minor niggles. the fact is that the woodhouse has provided us with the most amazing steak, the best charcuterie platter i have ever had and the best value one to boot as well as the best sorbet it has ever been the pleasure to put in my mouth. (i know, no-one goes to a restaurant for a sorbet...but i tell you it's worth it).
smoked wagyu brisket. it's better than it sounds and it sounds freaking incredible.
it was so good i lured a food blogger down from melb in the rain and the cold and he was totally sold on it.
having sampled bendigos so called "best" places for over a year now i can confidently say that if you go anywhere else but the woodhouse the nexttimeyour in bendgio you are doing yourself a dis-service.

well, this was one hell of a food adventure, certainly the furthest i’ve driven just for a burger - chris has been waxing lyrical about the woodhouse in bendigo for weeks. it’s a restaurant in cbd area of bendigo – which is about halfway between echuca and melbourne. chris spends a lot oftimedriving through bendigo visiting his friend hanna who lives just outside of echuca, they tend to meet up in bendigo since it’s the halfway point – apparently they’ve sampled many of the culinary delights that bendigo has to offer and rave about the woodhouse (best wagyu tasting plate ever according to chris). i on the other hand had never been to bendigo. and let’s be honest, why would i go to bendigo? it’s a 300km+ round trip from melbourne and there’s not much on the way… well, i finally caved – chris convinced me to drive up the calder hwy on friday night and gi

really top notch steaks which were cooked to perfection. would skip starters nexttimeas these were very pedestrian. service was on the whole good. 9/10. recommend.

this could quite possibly be my new favourite place in bendigo.  to be honest, they had me at "open fireplace/dessert platter" and everything else has just been icing on the cake so to speak. i'm not a huge steak eater, that's luke's department. in fact, i think the lasttimei ordered steak from a menu was the ball & chain in hobart (definitely worth a visit) about 7 years ago, so i don't take the decision to choose steak above everything else lightly. the woodhouse however won me over, and i'm going to have a hardtimenot ordering steak nexttimei visit. char-grilled. mouth watering. they obviously take their steak seriously and it shows. have it with a side of vegetables and paris mash. loving their wood fired pizzas too.  mental note: figure out how to get luke to build a wood fired pizza oven in the backyard.  i've sampled the slow cooked lamb and the wagyu meatball pizzas, the meatball is winning so far.

thirdtimeto the woodhouse and again had a fantastic experience. amazing food, if love steak and have never tried wagyu then you are missing out. there were four of us and our mains were perfect as were our deserts. could not fault the service. can't wait to go back!

took my wife there last night for our anniversary, what can i say other than "wow!" we both had a steak and they were the best steaks we have ever had. the desert share plate was brilliant as well. the staff were great and very attentive, they were very good at reading when you needed another drink or have your water topped up. it was a perfect night and i can't wait to go back. best eatery in bendigo by a mile!

woodhouse review. i dined here on a monday night as a party of 10 (7 adults and 2 children). we all ordered our meals at the sametimebut my meal along with one other persons (of which both meals were pizzas) arrived after everyone else had recieved there meal and almost completed it. when mine did arrive it was the wrong pizza so had to wait further to be made/cooked. a waitress apolgised that it was her error with wrong pizza/wait however did not apologise to me directly-apology was to person on end of table. after this on getting the bill was overcharged-charged for 2 pizzas when i only had the one. while staff are polite and friendly i feel the overall restaurant was abit pretentious for the attention it actually gave. i expected more from such an "upper class" restaurant.
