i was inbendigofor work & did a quick search for somewhere to eat & woodhouse was first on the list. we turned up without a booking & could only grab a table in their courtyard; which was still a lovely, covered and enclosed area.
while there were lots of delicious choices on the menu, my colleague and i both ordered the fish special, which was barramundi with a noodle salad, prawn cracker and a chili dipping sauce. the only problem was that it was so good i could keep eating it this way passed the point of being full. we both got a healthy steak of fish, which was soft & juicy. everything on the plate was amazing!
considering how fantastic our mains were, we both decided to try a dessert. i ordered the the snickers (caramel parfait, dacquoise, milk chocolate mousse, salted peanut caramel, and chocolate swirls) while my colleague got the woodhouse pavlova (pavlova, poached lychee, raspberry purée, coconut log, blood orange, and lime jelly). again, faultless. my dessert was not too sweet and was enough to satisfy my sweet tooth without making me feel ill. my colleague was also very impressed with her pavlova.
and i'm so, so glad we came here. this was honestly the nicest food i've eaten in ages, and very well priced for the quality. typically living in my melbournean food-bubble, i definitely wasn't expectingbendigoto have such an amazing restaurant. i would highly recommend this place to anyone heading in this direction and would consider the extended drive to be able to enjoy such a phenomenal meal again.
