south indian in allahabad is too much you can ask for and this is the place to fulfill your desire. good ambience and staff. amazing welcome drink. greattasteof south indian menu with lots of variety to choose from. don't dare to try chinese or otherwise you'll be responsible for your decision not the restaurant.

tamarind tree, when it started, was the best place in town. their food was amazing, staff polite and most of all the decor and ambience was superb.
but overtime their service has declined considerably. the food doesnttastethe same, the staff is okay. a lot of dishes, they outright say, they dont have.
hopefully, they’ll rise back to their original peak.

on a recent visit home, visited this place for lunch.

decor and ambience feels quite authentic, and it seems even the staff is from down south.

food wise, quite extensive menu, variety of items, catering to both north and south indian foods.

foodtasteis something i was not very impressed with. not because it is north india and you won't get similartastefrom south. but it wasn't something i would be keen on having again, atleast here. quantity was good enough. but was not very satisfied, compared to when there are other places too in bangalore, where one can get south indian flavour much closer to the real taste.

would give it maximum 3.5

this restaurant offers a wide range of south indian dishes with a twist. the dosa menu itself consists of two pages, each dish ensuring the preservation oftasteof the dosas.
my favourites would be onion pakoda (vengaya pakoda) to accompany it with a filter coffee, served in a mud cup as starters. the south indian thali offered by tamarind tree reminds of home with its perfectly done sambar, rasam, curries and a cup of curd. if you want to indulge yourtastebuds in authentic south indian, i suggest you to try this restaurant out.
the ambience is lowly lit, with fans in some corners of the room. during the summers, on specific days, they provide tamarind water to allow the body to cool down. soft music along with perfectly served meals allows you to enjoy and savour every moment. the price is a little too expensive.

the most attractive thing about this place is it's ambiance , it has small huts and village like decorations with beautifull seatings areas , dim yellow light and got cozy vibes.
their sand decoration on tables is something creative.

service is prompt .

they serve south indian and chinese meals .
food is good intastefor the cost they charge.
i tried their masala dosa , butter paneer masala dosa , munchow soup spring rolls and midnight beauty mocktail , all tasted good .

they also serve welcome drinks in starting , but we got that drink only on one of my visit on other two visits they didn't offer any welcome drinks .

the one thing here i loved the most was their theme. peaceful ambience with soothing music make it worth to spend some quality time. but as the timetasteof their food gradually decreases. cold coffee and smoothies were waste of money if u ordered. yeahh you must tried their south indian specialties. welcome drink which they serve is the hero of their theme.

food is good and tasty with a typical south indiantastebrought closer to the north . packaging of dosa can and must be improved . at present it comes in long open sleeve envelopes .

dosa was 9/10.
ambience was 10/10 , perfect for family excursion.
service a bit slow 7/10.
overall if you want a authentictasteof south indian food ,you should give it a try i'm sure it may not disappoint you ♥️

this one is family dosa which was priced at 600 and could carter 5 people easily.

i have been going to tamarind from about 8 years and yes as the time has passed i find some degradation in thetasteof their food. if you wish to grab some south indian food you should surely visit this place but don't forget to try their chinese menu as well as double sundae ice cream and the tamarind water is their sure try.

i had been to this place in feb this year and after having good experience revisited this place. however this time i was disappointed due to poor service, it took 35 minutes to serve the fast moving items like dosa, rava idli etc. however the goodtasteof these food items made it all. this place has a typical south indian menu with wait staff in south indian attire. they have added chinese cuisine to their menu which looks totally out of place and outtasteas well.

don't go for eating south indian food here. i visited this ttt restaurent on 05 nov 17, i ordered two dosas and they served the dosas with refrigerated chutneys and thetastewas so bland. by the way i am a south indian i know how a good dosa tastes.

as the names tells its a south indian restaurant hence i've given it 3.5 starts as it justifies its name considering its ambiance and few of its cuisines. the food is very good and made in their authentic, traditional way but thetasteis not what all north indians will like. however i liked it specially the rasam papad (served as starter).
the service is bit slow.

tamarind tree is an authentic south indian restaurant in allahabad. the seating area is peaceful and the ambience is great! i used to be a regular customer there and had been to this place many times. i had also celebrated one of my birthday there. the food used to be great till some years ago. thetasteused to be very good. however, on a recent visit, i didn't like thetasteand everything tasted stale. the service is just ok, not good and not bad.
