this is one of the places to be in whole of allahabad. everything from the welcome drink to the food is amazing. filter coffee is very good. the service and ambience is wonderful. southindianis the best thing here along with so many varities such as cheese dosa etc. and the chinese too is good. a reasonable and a good place to go to.

really good ambiance and seating arrangement is very comfy. gives you amazing southindianfeels. food is delicious too. very preferable for family outings.

southindianin allahabad is too much you can ask for and this is the place to fulfill your desire. good ambience and staff. amazing welcome drink. great taste of southindianmenu with lots of variety to choose from. don't dare to try chinese or otherwise you'll be responsible for your decision not the restaurant.

this is a nice cozy place for authentic southindianfood, the best southindiani have had in allahabad. the place is quite spacious with sitting arrangements on the floors with cushions , tables nicely arranged for groups , families or even a couple. the staff is welcoming and will greet you with a smile.

you may have to wait to get a seat sometimes. and i must admit the service is quite slow compared to other southindianplaces which is way faster.

you are welcomed with a refreshing jaljeera drink.

do try the mini southindianthali or the mini tiffin they serve puri sabji and some other chutney which are mostly cooked in coconut oil i think. it's gives perfect southindiantaste.

try the rasam with appalam which is also a part of the thali. i wanted to try some thing other than masala dosa and the mysore butter was a great change it was different than the regular dosas i have had.

they have variety of idlis and also uttapam , i wish to try them at my next visit.

the southindianfood of the tamarind tree gives you perfect satisfaction. not too spicy, just perfect. panchvarna uttapam, dosas, idlis.. everything tastes great. it's also a good dining place. it's particular menu is southindianand chinese.

i love southindiandishes from this place. if u wanna have good southindiancuisine in town, this is one of the best places to be. flavors of ghee just melt in mouth

it's known for its southindiandishes especially the varieties of dosa available there. the ambiance of the staff there is good and i loved the idea of giving jal jeera the moment you sit in your table as a starter.

i have ordered for southindianfix thaali, masala dosa...

had been dere with family. ambience and service is gud 4 out of 5. but food quality was pathetic, only dosa and idli were available. we ordered masala dosa, cheese masala and paneer dosa, masala of dosa was tasteless. even sambhar and chatni was also very bad in taste. food 1 out of 5. not recommended if u are looking for some authentic southindianfood.

nice place with calm and soothing dim lights.
their interior is quite good. based on soundindiantheme they serve quite good quality of southindiancuisine.

we ordered chilli baby corn veg manchurian schezwan noodles nd fried rice..

every thing was nice but i got dissatisfaction from the schezwan noodles.

overall a good place to hangout.
they also serve complimentary welcome drinks.

tamarind tree is the best place for southindiancuisines at allahabad.............................simply love the complimentary rasam (welcome drink).......................its too yum :)

food is good but price is high. although place is.great if.you want to spend some peaceful and quality time with your family or friends. pure southindianplace.

on a recent visit home, visited this place for lunch.

decor and ambience feels quite authentic, and it seems even the staff is from down south.

food wise, quite extensive menu, variety of items, catering to both north and southindianfoods.

food taste is something i was not very impressed with. not because it is north india and you won't get similar taste from south. but it wasn't something i would be keen on having again, atleast here. quantity was good enough. but was not very satisfied, compared to when there are other places too in bangalore, where one can get southindianflavour much closer to the real taste.

would give it maximum 3.5

located in civil lines, they have really good southindianfood. they also serve chinese which is not bad, and not so special. their coconut chutney and ginger chutney feels like authentic southindianchutney.
