this is one of the places to be in whole of allahabad. everything from the welcome drink to the food is amazing. filter coffee is very good. the service andambienceis wonderful. south indian is the best thing here along with so many varities such as cheese dosa etc. and the chinese too is good. a reasonable and a good place to go to.

south indian in allahabad is too much you can ask for and this is the place to fulfill your desire. goodambienceand staff. amazing welcome drink. great taste of south indian menu with lots of variety to choose from. don't dare to try chinese or otherwise you'll be responsible for your decision not the restaurant.

tamarind tree, when it started, was the best place in town. their food was amazing, staff polite and most of all the decor andambiencewas superb.
but overtime their service has declined considerably. the food doesnt taste the same, the staff is okay. a lot of dishes, they outright say, they dont have.
hopefully, they’ll rise back to their original peak.

had been dere with family.ambienceand service is gud 4 out of 5. but food quality was pathetic, only dosa and idli were available. we ordered masala dosa, cheese masala and paneer dosa, masala of dosa was tasteless. even sambhar and chatni was also very bad in taste. food 1 out of 5. not recommended if u are looking for some authentic south indian food.

a decent restaurant with a decent food. not a lot is on the menu but it is worthwhile. don't keep your hopes high while visiting.ambienceis awesome but doesn't matches with food.

on a recent visit home, visited this place for lunch.

decor andambiencefeels quite authentic, and it seems even the staff is from down south.

food wise, quite extensive menu, variety of items, catering to both north and south indian foods.

food taste is something i was not very impressed with. not because it is north india and you won't get similar taste from south. but it wasn't something i would be keen on having again, atleast here. quantity was good enough. but was not very satisfied, compared to when there are other places too in bangalore, where one can get south indian flavour much closer to the real taste.

would give it maximum 3.5

i visit this place first tym, its a small south indian restaurant which has beautiful interiors n exterior... i like theambiencethe chair are beautifully wove with threads, interior are beautiful with dim light.. now let's come for food, i didn't like the food i tried idli n dosa which was not upto the mark... dosa was lit fine but idli was not so good... overall the staff were good but service was slow....

this restaurant offers a wide range of south indian dishes with a twist. the dosa menu itself consists of two pages, each dish ensuring the preservation of taste of the dosas.
my favourites would be onion pakoda (vengaya pakoda) to accompany it with a filter coffee, served in a mud cup as starters. the south indian thali offered by tamarind tree reminds of home with its perfectly done sambar, rasam, curries and a cup of curd. if you want to indulge your taste buds in authentic south indian, i suggest you to try this restaurant out.
theambienceis lowly lit, with fans in some corners of the room. during the summers, on specific days, they provide tamarind water to allow the body to cool down. soft music along with perfectly served meals allows you to enjoy and savour every moment. the price is a little too expensive.

the one thing here i loved the most was their theme. peacefulambiencewith soothing music make it worth to spend some quality time. but as the time taste of their food gradually decreases. cold coffee and smoothies were waste of money if u ordered. yeahh you must tried their south indian specialties. welcome drink which they serve is the hero of their theme.

ambience- theambiencealone is worth it. a sit on floor experience with foot wear off is super cool
food- south indian it is and they have added chinese to diversify the menu which otherwise may not get them customers in allahabad.

this place is overrated ...theambienceis good but there air conditioning is bad....
the staff has no clue about the dishes they serve...and the service time is too long ....
the food is not particularly good...
the hot and sour was good but the mushroom with noodles is not worth trying....
the portion size is not worth the price..
i even tried the chilly potato and spring roll but they where not upto it's standard....
even the chilli mushroom was bland ....
and the worst part was that they didn't have rasam...
so if you are testing new places or are trying for a good family time i would suggest you try some other place

worst spring roll ever had here.ambienceis okay. they need to work hard on the taste of the items. earlier the taste used to be good. quality has degraded.
