if delimonti is thought of as bomontiada's resident wine house, populist is its pub cousin.
boasting their own craft brew, the two-page drinks menu is divided in two sections: imports and house brews (although when we went last week, the imports were not all available). that said, if you want imported beers you are better off heading to house of hops and barley or beer hall. populist crafts their own brew, making it one one of the few microbreweries in town (let alone the country). their specialty is their craft beer so why not support it and this great trend with great beer.
they have a number of classics on tap such cases as ales, pilsners, lagers, blondes, ambers, whites and even their own wheat beer. alternatively, populist offers a tasting menu that includes six different kinds - consider it a learning experience, discovering new tastes you otherwise may have not chosen.
their food is general pub food of burgers, anything fried (including onion rings). i ordered the pale ale for a light evening refresher. if you are a fan of the pale ales, do yourself a favour and order a slice orange with it. thank me later.
